OLAADEGBU:like what Tb Joshua said in his past messages, he said those that are blowing lies and propaganda against him are just popularising God’s works in his life and ministry. The enemies of SCOAN are just popularising the church more. Ever since the clueless enemies have blowing their lies and propaganda against him, as the church go down niii? They are just making senior prophet Tb Joshua to be much popular by the day. Upon his demise from this sinful world, they are still persecuting him. What I just know is that the church of God is marching on and gate of hell will never prevail in it. |
phemray:it’s very unfortunate seriously. Nigeria politics is about pertaking in the eating of the cakes. No matter the office you hold, you must chop and chop and bring your people to chop. |
What a painful exit. Rip 🪦 to him. If you are playing politics in Nigeria, play it with sense. The deceased never reach 50 years of age. My condolences 💐 to the family and friends he left behind. |
US-based lecturer shot dead in Osun as Adeleke demands probe A United States of America-based Nigerian lecturer and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Richard Idowu, has been shot dead in the Ejigbo area of Osun State. The incident, which occurred between 8:00 and 8:30 pm on Saturday, immediately threw the community into mourning and led to tension among the residents. An investigation by The PUNCH indicated that the incident occurred in a private residence of Prince Eniola Oyeyode, a son to the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode, who was marking his 50th anniversary on the throne. It was also learnt that Idowu was part of the coronation anniversary, from where he was summoned to a meeting in the residence of Eniola located along Inisa Road in Ejigbo. An eyewitness, who preferred anonymity, while speaking with The PUNCH on Sunday on the matter, said at the meeting was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Ayodele Asalu, and one other person identified as Mr. Timothy. After the meeting had ended and the attendees were leaving the premises, it was gathered, gunshots were heard, and Idowu was hit on the leg, which led to his death while being treated in a private hospital in Ejigbo. Narrating how the incident happened, a Personal Assistant to the deceased, Afiz Lawal, who said the incident happened in his presence, further explained, “When we returned to Osun from Ogun State where Governor Adeleke took a Chieftaincy title, we moved to Ejigbo for 50th coronation anniversary of the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, Oba Oyeyode Oyesosin. “Immediately after the coronation party, we were about to start coming to Osogbo when Prince Eniola, son of Ogiyan, told us to go to his house along Inisa Road in Ejigbo for a brief meeting. Those who attended the meeting include Hon. Asler (Ayodele Asalu) and one Hon Timothy. “When the meeting ended, they all dispersed and were entering their vehicles. I heard Prince Eniola say, release, asking a local hunter there on the premises to release gunshots into the air. Unfortunately, instead of firing into the air, he shot towards the ground. And that was how Hon Richard Idowu was hit on the leg, and he immediately fell. “Before we could get him to the hospital, he had already lost so much blood and there is no good hospital in Ejigbo. He gave up at a private hospital in Ejigbo. The incident happened between 8:00 and 8:30 pm on Saturday. He was a PDP chieftain and a lecturer based in the United States of America.” Asked if the incident could be regarded as a case of misfiring, Lawal further said, “It may be planned or accidental, but I just narrated how the incident happened because I was at the scene. His remains have been deposited at the morgue of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.” It was also said the man who fired the shot was beaten to death, but Lawal could not confirm that. The spokesperson for the state police command, Yemisi Opalola, could not be reached for comment, as calls did not go through to her mobile line, and she has not responded to a text message sent to her as of the time of filing this report. But while speaking with our correspondent, the Commander of Osun Command of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service, popularly known as local hunters, Ahmed Nureni, said no member of the group was involved in the incident while demanding a thorough probe into the killing. Meanwhile, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered an immediate investigation into the killing and counter-killing at Ejigbo during the 50-year coronation celebration of the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyeyosin. A statement by the spokesperson for the governor, Olawale Rasheed, on Sunday partly read, “The Governor who commiserates with the people of Ejigbo town directed law enforcement agencies to investigate the remote and immediate causes of the incident and ensure that the law takes its cause. Mr Governor further called for pre-emptive action by the security agencies to prevent any possible counter-attacks or eruption of violence in the ancient town following the sad incident. “Urging families of the deceased not to take laws into their hands, the Governor has also dispatched a high-powered delegation to visit Ejigbo and ensure restoration of calm while the investigation continues. Members of the delegation include the Commissioner of Police, the State Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, the State Commissioner for Information, and the Special Adviser to the Governor of Security. “What happened today at Ejigbo is really sad. I extend my condolences to the families of the deceased. I have directed an immediate investigation into the killings of Dr Richard Adeoriokin and the subsequent killing of his killer. I have also instructed the State Police Command to issue guidelines on the usage of local guns. Such regulations will enhance the safety and protection of the citizens especially at public functions.” https://punchng.com/breaking-adeleke-orders-probe-of-us-based-lecturer-shot-dead-in-osun/

Adeleke’s Security Aides Brutalise Ogun NUJ Secretary As APC Carpets Governor The Secretary of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, has accused some security aides attached to the Osun state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke of attacking him on Friday, 26th January, 2024. The brutalised secretary said he was attacked by the overzealous men at the 66th Birthday and Conferment of Chieftaincy title on the governor by Oba Adeyemi Adekeye, Abepa of Joga Orile as the Baba Oba. In a statement entitled, ‘How I Was Attacked By Osun State Governor Security Aides’, the victims noted that he was on official duty at the ceremony where the unruly security personnel attached to the governor started attacking journalists at the event. The NUJ Secretary who works with the Ogun State Television, OGTV, called for necessary action over the incident. He said the security aides conducted the action when the governor was already seated and the national anthem was going on. The statement further read, “I covered the 66th Birthday and Conferment of Chieftaincy title on the governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke by Oba Adeyemi Adekeye, AbepaJoga Orile as the Baba Oba “A colourful event which attracted so many dignitaries from within the state and outside but majorly from Osun State maybe. “I was there to cover the event for my station, which was duly paid for, so if not for this, I have no business, and I won’t even near Oke Ata not to talk of Joga Orile. “The governor was amiable, but all the security details were unruly. They started behaving anyhow immediately when their governor arrived, pushing and harassing every journalist, even those who came with other special Guests from Osun State “They pushed my cameraman and other cameramen, thought that was enough until they got to where we were standing, I was harassed, embarrassed, and they nearly tore my clothes. We dragged, as you can see in this video, taken by one of us who disguised “It was so tough as if it was a campaign gathering, a social gathering it was, and one could imagine how it would have been in Osun State “I tried to get to those who harassed us, then I noticed they were putting on a different uniform from the normal police uniform we all know, bellaruslike, no name tag, they were on nose masks and holding petals like they were sent to journalists. “I was manhandled and roughened and imagined what would happen to those without tags and any means of identification at an event of such “Still not feeling fine, but I need to drop this for the world to know how the so-called Police who are attached to Special Nigerians behave at times” A text message sent to the spokesperson of the Governor, Olawale Rasheed for clarification was not responded to as of the time of filing this report. Meanwhile, the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the harassment of the Ogun State NUJ secretary. The party in a statement by its chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, a copy obtained by Osun Defender, sympathised with the victim, calling on the Inspector-General of Police(IGP) to investigate the attack on the journalist. Lawal said Governor Adeleke has been attracting negative media reportage to the State of Virtues which hitherto was known for her Omoluabi ethos before his ascension into office. He said, “It is incumbent on the Inspector-General of Police(IGP) to investigate the needless and brutal attack on the innocent journalist and the cameramen who were rough handled and attacked thereby subjecting the image of the police into disrepute. “The IGP should also find out if the indecorum Adeleke security aides who threw caution to the wind by assaulting the journalist and cameramen are either fake or authentic police because of their uniform which is different from the one accustomed to by the citizenry. “It is high time Governor Adeleke stopped exporting vices to another state as this is telling on her corporate image which has always been in the news for negative events.” https://www.osundefender.com/adelekes-security-aides-brutalise-ogun-nuj-secretary-as-apc-carpets-governor/
