@lovesavvi, a rider to my post below. You cannot legally work with the Visa issued to study a professional course in Canada,so I think the VO would really want to be satisfied on ur finances. Your sponsor should clearly affirm that he/she would sponsor you, have proof of sufficient funds to do this (pls note that they will also consider the fact that the sponsor would have other responsibities so it is important for ur sponsor to state how many dependents she has). Having proof of funds in your own account can also bolster the satisfaction.Include ur company documents, business account statements, possibly audited financial statements as well. Contact newacca (trace him on this thread) he will give you more help than I have TRV_IJN: When you say experience in business, how do you mean? Throw more light please. Did your sister write a letter of Sponsorship?what work experience or acamedic studies if any do u have that relates with the ACCA? Have you already begun the ACCA exams here? What does your sister do? Is she employed or self employed?how many people depend on her? Was the no of her dependents communicated to CDHC? |

@lovesavvi, Please was ur undergrad related to the course you were applying for? |
. Fhemmmy: you will notice that i was laffing on his statement if i was going to Seneca as well, so i laffed at that statement and even highlighted it, so how was that being "not being nice" to him |
Mr Fhemmy has always been a helpful, insightful and mature poster on this thread and has earned my respect but I would say I don't think that the response was one of his best on this thread.it may not be a good idea to joke with someone who you are just meeting or don't know yet, you always get something like this. Having said that, effizypo Fhemmy is someone I think we can all learn a lot from on this thread and I know he isn't a mocker so pls accept my apologies and let it go Joe980: That's rude bruv...this is a faceless forum and you can't tell who could eventually be of great help. Besides, for him(Fhemmmy) to have asked what your major is, tells alot about what he intends offering you. Now you killed it. |
@yungokus the analyst Greetings sir. Hope the weekend is going well. How old are you now (CDHC weeks ) |
blink6: Is calgary in alberta?@ Blink, Calgary is in Alberta. I wanna advise you as a younger brother. Google is very good. I didn't even know where it was until I googled it and I didn't even have to click on the result- it was in my face. Blink, order is a very good thing. I advise u use this time table if you are considering fall 2014. Nov 2012-Feb 2013 - Study for WAEC, read hard, forget about this thread (or visit very sparingly) March-April 2013- solve all past questions of the exams you are going to take (DO NOT VISIT THIS THREAD OR THINK ABOUT CANADA-THEY WILL BOTH NOT DISAPPEAR EVEN AFTER YOUR EXAMS) May-June/July 2013 - Write and pass your exams (I wish you success, but u have to earn it) July/August 2013-When ur results come out. peruse this thread, ask all the questions. start applying to schools, contact the people on this thread (past, present(past @ that time)and future). Look for 2-3 people who have similar dreams and conditions as you and make them pals so you work together. My younger brother @Blink, I want you to succeed by God's Grace so please don't go to this race putting ur cart before your horse. Let me know if I can help you in any way. |
Hi Netglobe, congratulations on your TRV. Now that you have your TRV, kindly share details of your application with the house. though we are mainly prospective students, a number who visit this thread may learn from your case. Netglobe: Hi guys! I now have my TRV to join my spouse in Canada. He's on study permit over there. I wish you guys the very best. It took about 7wks for processing. |
@yung i think there aren't as many 'status change news' on thursdays and fridays as there are on other days. today for example (i don't base this on just today). House, who else feels like i do? |
i meant apart from Uncle's account (of very sufficient funds and history), if the applicant herself has the funds in her account also- she has the money but her uncle (letter from uncle included) is her sponsor. i am only asking if you think, the person will meet CDHC's "FINANCIAL SUFFICIENCY PARAMETERS"

|
@yung, you are right on the submission date. what about uncle (same surname too) and you still have more than your total costs in your own salary account? yungokus: Yes no particular day!.... Blive u said u submitted 17th August or do u mean it got to the embassy 17th cos from my calendar 17th is a friday . If u submitted 17th den def it wud be getting to the embassy Monday 20th August.. U can start counting ur weeks from there...but if it got to the embassy 17th den we share the same week to count from cos mine got there 14th .. |
Nice analysis @yung. Thanks a lot, learnt something new. yungokus: Hahahaha Funny u!!....well there's no particular day in the week status change happens.. It could come anyday in the week and anytime during the day.. But once its past 3pm in anyday i.e. Mon-Fri.. Don't xpect any status change cos VAC closes by 3pm... And ur last question every application is processed as it comes..no preference for any particular study program.... Like u av rightly said I av carefully and bin studying CDHC's trend in responding to applications altho it myt not b so @ times.. But many at times av bin on track... My observations still goes thus.. Response mostly sometimes comes[b] |
Good Morning House. Can we get any trend analysis. more like answers to these questions 1. What day of the week do we have the most 'status changes' (you can go a step further to categorise the various status changes? 2. What time of the day is the most likely to get a status change? 3. Are applications for undergraduates processed faster than postgraduate applications (CDHC processes only)? i tend to believe this is the case @Yungokus we await your expert analysis (we understand it will not be absolute but try abeg |

LOL yungokus: @frankysteve 31st July, @Lutobi 3rd August, @OmosanyaOlak 3rd August, @efosa12345 (dnt rily know wen u submitted in August) but if submitted btwn 1st-3rd August .. Your application reference number NGA/**0812/****/** is being processed at Embassy on **/08/2012 |
Congrats bro goddeymydear: Please help me praise the Lord. This is a miracle - I was already getting worrisome. Just checked my status now and it has changed to "our application has been assessed by the Canadian High Commission/Consulate General of Canada and is being returned to the centre where you applied". I take it as my trv is ready! |
@Olami, if you have a payment schedule and it says $13,000 for 2 semesters, i think that is what you should pay. however, if it is possible for you to also make accommodation payments, you can do this also. were you suggesting giving someone your money or did you mean that you want to know if there's someone (current student)there to aid the despacthing of your receipts after payment? the Olami1224: Hello everyone, Did my medicals and submitted 2weeks back, and i got a call from them this morning asking me to go and make 1year tuition fee and send the receipt to the Embassy. I need your advice on how to make the payment, preferable on-line payment. |
some people act like gods here, but thank God that God is God. |
Hi Joe, You are saying something different from what I said. Please read my post again (just try and do it). I didn't ask him to go to an M Eng immediately and he (skulboy didn't say that). My first degree is in Electrical Engineering but I have built a career in a different field. All I am saying in simply english is if you have work experience, maybe some cerifications and training in a field, you can purse a career in that field irrespective of first degree. If you apply to a highly competitive program in a top school, you will see how all these criteria are taken into consideration. Having said that, if the case is not as Skulboy stated but as your example, I agree with you, he wud has even a lower chance @ getting the admission sef. Anyway I based my statement on Skulboy's case not your example Joe980: @Skulboy...take to what @Lilwawao dropped. |
I disagree with lillawow. People can change their career paths and anyone who has been in the corporate world for a while will agree with me. I think the key thing is progress/pedigree you have in line with a career/academic studies in the area of your intended course of study. The embassies are also aware of this that is why in the student questionnaire (your blank cheque for stating your case) there is a part that askes 'Do you have academic prerequisites OR Work experience relevant to this program? If so LIST AND PROVIDE EVIDENCE. Please Skulboy if you want to be a software Engineer, let no one stop you, Canadian embassy will not deny you because ur 1st degree is in Economics but if you cannot with your whole application prove ur educational goals, future plans and what you have done so far to achieve that, that is where you may have a problem. Guys let's read the whole application instructions amd guidelines so we aren't told what someone thinks CDHC means but what they actually do mean. lillaowow: CO: I'd have to deny you due to the following reasons: |
@ Blink, Be objective. Ask and answer these questions to yourself 1. What do I want to do in terms of Education?(What are your educational goals) 2. Am I qualified for the course I want to study? Did I runs my other waec papers? Do I want to run into academic troubles in Canada? What subject(s) do I have strenghts in- that I don't need to runs? 3. Is it not better I take things step by step- starting with studying and passing my exams? 4. Will it be easy for me to convince others about my intentions to study in Canada (Convincing the VO) with the attitude I have shown on this thread? Bros answer these questions truthfully and take my advice. You need to first of all STUDY AND PASS YOUR O LEVELS. Most of us giving you this advice have passed through a University, some are even in Canada and we have age and experience to say what we say. You cannot build a house by starting from the roof.quote author=blink6] I know I can handle the high standard of education, and that why I want to go there. You shud know that sometimes, exams here can be so frustrating. I did my best,as my fellow mates did... but waec rewarded us with d7 in math. See what it want to cost me now. All is well anyways, and God is in control.
|
@ Aluta, I'm not sure you can apply for a study permit (student visa) I remember seeing some clauses/ exceptions for some medical academic courses. To be suren please look at the 'who should/can apply' section of the study visa section on CDHC site- that site will answer most if not all your questions. I can't really check it out atm but may later in the day. alutacontinua: @justwise, i'm a nigerian but i'm not in the carribean rite now. D issue is dt would i be issued a student visa because i'm going to be doing the clinicals in the hospital, not in a school. Also, can i process the visa from here? |
You need to get admission first, get your acceptance letter then make your student visa application . The student visa application processing time is 4-6 months so if your school resumes say, Sept 1, 2013. The latest you should submit your application is April 30, 2013. My advise therefore to you is to work on gaining the admission and getting the requisite documents from your school to aid your application and then gather all other documents. Read the thread from the begining but for now, channel your energies to getting admission. blink6: @all, |
Wow. I missed a lot on pages 155 and 156. I want to suggest to Every stakeholder of this thread - ANYONE AND I REPEAT ANYONE THAT ASKES YOU FOR MONEY REGARDING THESE THINGS IS FRAUDULENT. Even if it is @justwise (I need to show them how important this is- no disrespect intended). Everything should be said on the thread, if there must be private contacts, do that @ your own risk but be very very cautious. Smh. There are a lot of lazy people who just want to scam others(taking advantage of their reluctance to read). Please don't be offended when asked to read the thread from part 1, it is better doing this than exposing oneself to criminals all because we don't want to 'work' for our own information. God help us. The expectations resume on monday |
All student visa applications are done in Lagos. But if you insist on visiting the Abuja office of Canadian Embassy, just have extra money cos you may/will end put having wasted all funds related to your trip to Abuja. Austine AA: Dear friends, please i need your idea, i got admission in a University in Canada, I have paid my tuition fee, pay for my accommodation reservation fee, i have secured all the relevant documents needed, including police clearance. But I don't know how i can submit my details to Canadian High Commission in Abuja, I live in Lagos but i don't want to seek my student visa from Lagos. I need your advice and idea. Thanks and remain blessed. |
Justwise, please check what the law says about this. It may be a crime not to forward these details to EFCC and have Abmoney clear himself from there so there.Anyone conversant with Nigerian Law? Abmoney: Mercy can you help me pls....i don't know about it and i never did yahoo and besides what kind of a dumb yahoo would use his photos for a scam... with this i am ruined totally... THE ONLY MESSAGE IN MY HEAD NOW IS THAT I AM FINISHED BESIDES I NEVER DID CIVIL ENGINEERING FOR GOD SAKE... THIS IS BULL SHIIIIIIIIIT |
