You may lie to yourself, you may lie to everyone but you cannot lie to your conscience. The FACT of the matter remains that the Igbos have proven over time to be almost super humans who worship the most high ChiUkwuOkike only and no man else. It doesn't matter what you have.

Since nigeria returned to democracy in 1999 till date, only the Igbos have consistently made the best choice of voting for the best candidate bar none. And even if you want to take it further, it is only the Igbos that saw through this shenanigan of a geographic location called nigeria and called for a quit.

Ndi gbo aka Ndi Igbo are in no doubt super blessed by the almighty...QED Other people are blessed with other virtues but this one of foresight and the right decision of presidents, give it to the Igbos.

See people that voted Ikpeazu the Kerosene merchant who gave eba and egusi soup as campaign bribe are talking of intelligence.

Intelligence that could not make you survive in your region unless you enter Obodo Lagos or travel to SA with powder.

Oh intelligence that produced Chinaza, Evans, Ekpa, and MNK but could not produce Nigeria's president, that type of intelligence can only be found in cockroaches.

Every business man is greedy and selfish...

The aim of business is to make money. Most will take advantage of the system where possible.

I do not blame Dangote... I blame government for not regulating the system.

It's the duty of government to plug loopholes and protect the economy by curbing the excesses of the greed of these business men.

Dangote and most businesses that operate in Nigeria cannot operate in most countries with laws and an environment that is regulated. The system is different and won't allow them to exploit.

Reason why most of them keep failing and pack out of other countries.

Glo is one such example of companies that hasn't succeeded outside Nigeria. It sold out to airtel recently in Ghana. It's difficult to operate with same template most of these companies use outside Nigeria because we do not have laws.

Forget patriotism if he isn't breaking any law then do not criticize the man!

Many of you just assume democracy is a government you rule through fiat. How can one assume the country that has been bastardized for 25 years in this 4th republic with so much rubble from independence and through military rule will suddenly become a paradise in 10 months?

He has taken bold steps that are lacking among all the past leaders and the results of that decision cannot be seen in 10 months.

Ndume and co should know that it is high time Nigeria audited her infrastructure and spread it between the north and the south.

We demand immediate relocation of NNPC to Portharcourt, NDLEA to Anambra, NAPTIP to Edo, and Customs head office to Lagos while military establishment should be shared between the North and the South.

The era of military dictatorship which favoured the North is all gone, we are now on a plane-level ground where the North can not match the South head to head.

The South this time around will support the NC anytime power returns to the North. You cant be draining our resources through your self-inflicted crises and still be dictating to us.

Here.

It's right there on the first page with the links.

Who is the lazy one now?

Fvk off
Half baked education is worse than illiterate.

The link you post has noting to do with naira floating rather is was a WDAS wholesale Dutch Auction system which still placed the control and sales dollar to the bureau De change solely under the control of CBN where government determine the price and quantity of dollar supply to the economy.

Below is the extract from the link you post.

By Omoh Gabriel & Babajide Komolafe
LAGOS — THE Central Bank (CBN), said in a circular to all banks yesterday that it would lift foreign exchange controls for Nigerian buyers of U.S. dollars from Monday, following a decision by Governor

“The Central Bank of Nigeria hereby re-introduces the Wholesale Dutch Auction System with effect from Monday

on Tuesday to liberalise the foreign exchange market.

The CBN had imposed forex restrictions in January following huge capital flight from the country and replaced the Wholesale Dutch Auction System (WDAS) to try and stem a sharp decline in the exchange rate of the naira.

“The Central Bank of Nigeria hereby re-introduces the Wholesale Dutch Auction System with effect from Monday,” said Batari Musa, Director, CBN Trade and Exchange Department.

This is in a bid to stimulate activities in the interbank and stabilise the foreign exchange market.” The CBN initially announced the lifting of forex controls on Tuesday after its first monetary policy meeting under Sanusi.

In the circular dated July 8, 2009 entitled: “Revised Guidelines for the Operation of the Foreign Exchange Market: Wholesale Dutch Auction System” the apex bank said “further to the circular Ref: TED/FEM/FPC/GEN/01/088 of May 22, 2009 on the above subject, the Central Bank of Nigeria hereby re-introduces the Wholesale Dutch Auction System (WDAS) with effect from Monday 13th July, 2009. This is in a bid to stimulate activities in the inter-bank and stabilize the Foreign Exchange Market.

“Consequently, the guidelines for operating the system are as follows: henceforth the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) shall intervene in the Foreign Exchange Market through the Wholesale Dutch Auction System. The CBN shall announce on Monday and Wednesday the amount on offer for each auction at 8.30am.

Under this system, Authorised Dealers shall submit their bids on Monday and Wednesday, duly signed by two authorised signatories for any particular auction session between 9.00am and 10.30 am on the day of the auction; and b submit bids for no more than three tranches per auction, while the Central Bank of Nigeria reserves the right to reject bids that are deemed to be unrealistic.

“The bids should be submitted via Reuters Dealing 3000 Xtra System to the Abuja dealing line. The minimum bid amount by an Authorized Dealer shall be $100,000.00 and the currencies of transaction shall be the Naira and the United States dollar.

I don't know why you chose to be mischievous, you are indeed a dangerous person

You guys just want to defend Tinubu's incompetence with your ignorance.
This is disgusting!!
You are the lazy one otherwise you would answer my question without resulting in all these diversions.

You wrote over 100 words to excuse yourself from answering my question when it would take you less than 10 words to post the link.

I put it to you that Yaradua/ Jonathan never floated naira under Sanusi as CBN governor.

Stop all this blind criticism, that is not how to play the opposition.

A genuine Nigerian will appreciate the damage to the economy right from 1999 and beyond and would not heap the blame on a government that is less than 1 year.

The truth is that Nigeria is broke and in debt. She is not generating enough revenue to finance its budget as we have been having budget deficits back to back.

The previous government had not been able to build or revive any of our refineries and a chunk of forex was being used to import refined oil.

A sane mind knows that there is no magic any government can perform to turn the ugly situation around overnight.

I'm not hanging my hat on anyone.
I'm simply enlightening you.
There's nothing like subsidising currency in real terms.
One of the core functions of CBN is defending the naira when needed and devaluing it when expedient.
I already gave you clear links especially under PDP presidents that I know of who floated the naira. So your claim that every govt before Tinubu controlled the value of the naira is simply false. You have to take an education when it is offered and accept when you're wrong.
Nobody left things worse for Tinubu. You guys are just making that claim to deflect from his incompetence.
If 700 exchange rate was worse, how do you now call sinking it to 1400 correcting that wrong? Are we progressing or retrogressing?
At what time under PDP government was the naira floated.?

Which year was that?
Politics › Re: Restructure Nigeria, Gani Adams Charges Tinubu by Ttalk: 1:26am On Jan 27, 2024
The North started restructuring by introducing another constitution. They say it is their right to have sharia in a Federation and a Southern president granted them their wish.

Now the South is yearning for fiscal autonomy and devolution of power. Let any man prove that Is against the constitution in a federalism.

The truth is that Nigeria has lied so much to itself without success, not it is the right time to take the bitter pill. Nigeria must be restructured whether the North likes it or not.

The unity that accommodates Sharia should also accommodate regional autonomy, which was the basic foundation of this country, let no man deny it

They should sack bokoharam and the bandits first.

This is a region that lost its priority only to focus on retaining power. What has the power you got through Buhari done for your region other than hunger, poverty, and death?

It is high time the North especially the youth accepted that they need to take human development seriously otherwise they would continue to lag behind the South.

Let the South ring the bell of restructuring and resource control. Enough of entitlement right coming from the north
