gidgiddy: When you look at Nigerian history, the best times Nigeria had were during the times of the Regions. Nigeria had 4 Regions, all 4 Regions were controlling their resources, were semi-autonomous and progressed at their own pace.
In 1967, Lt Colonel Gowon used Decree 14 to abolish the 4 Region and create 12 new states, then followed this up with Decree 15 that abolished resource control. Subsequent military rulers, all from the North, subdivided the 12 States Gowon created, and tripled it to the 36 States we have today, in a well calculated move to make the North masters of Nigeria
This has created an all powerful and omnibus federal government that is holding the federating units by the neck. Producing the President of Nigeria has now become a do or die affair
There are over 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria and they can choose which Region they want create and belong to.
Theres no reason why we shouldn't have about 8 Regions in Nigeria, each one controlling its resources and giving up powers such as foreign affairs, immigration and customs, national defence to the federal government at the centre. Each Region developing at its own pace, and according to its talent.
Nigeria should go back to Regionalism, resource control, fiscal federalism and decentralised government. You can't be calling yourself the Federal Republic when there is nothing federal about you Sense of reasoning is gradually dawning on you. Unlike the initial nzogbu nzogbu approach that has taken your region backward with your self-inflicted Sit at home. Can you drum this into the ears of your angelic representatives who are saner than angel Michael since you know how to elect the best leaders? How do you define regional border because of your past leader's penchant for intrusion into SS land is threatening Don't you think state control of VAT is a step in the direction of regionalism as your 5states can pull resources together in the name of regionalism. Seriously, your region together with the north is the region that has been a clog in the wheel of regionalism. You can't go against State control of VAT, canvass for removal of state of origin, refused to form state police until you were embarrassed, and claim to develop Lagos and still be singing regionalism. Is it not because of the thought of a presidency eluding your region that you now result to regionalism since it is clear that secession you won't get and presidency you won't get? Talk true |

onuman: Why would Tinubu declare that it was his turn to become president knowing full well that if it's turn by turn, it's the turn of the Igbo to present a president for Nigeria in 2023? Tinubu slapped every Igbo on the face with that declaration. He is so hate-filled and inconsideratofor the Igbo. You blew your chance in PDP with your nzogbu nzogbu politics of weak and lack of coordination, you ran away from PDP when you saw Atiku only to start shouting lost manhood. Your inability to confront your fear as a region will continue to hunt your ass. We saw many of you shouting you would prefer a northerner in power in 2023 rather than stick your neck into the contest. Your embarrassing permutation during the primary has confirmed your lack of direction but filled with emotion and unnecessary hate. Just like you clamoring for interim and later military takeover just because Tinubu a Yoruba man got what you can't fight for |

onuman: Alex Ekwueme formed PDP in 1999 through which Obasanjo became the first presidential candidate of the party and won Nigeria's presidential election even as the Yoruba refused to vote for Obasanjo in 1999. Stop parading around supporting inequality in a country. A country of inequality stifles wellbeing for its citizens and eventually collapses at the long run. Non Igbo politicians scramble for the highest office in Nigeria in order to control cheap cash from crude oil and gas deposits in Igbo land and in the rest of the Niger Delta region, but exclude the Igbo in apex political leadership through evil machinations including this year's stealing of presidential election. Look at this tribalist and Tinubu hater talking about appointment in Tinubus government, are you not ashamed to each to eat your vomit. Do you want appointment from this government or you want to wait till when Obi regain his manhood? |

Penguin2: Lol!
I love to see this war already.
Tinubu thought he has the north and therefore he can trample upon Igbos and even wipe them out of the surface of the earth, but less than 3 months, God is already showing him he’s God.
First thing that brought Tinubu on head on collision with the north was threatening to go to war with their cousins in Niger. Now northern stakeholders are already seeing him as anti north.
The union he so much coveted with Kwankwaso collapsed.
Now, his relationship with Elrufai is about to hit the rocks as well.
O. T. Law for him in the north.
Now if there’s rerun, na only Southwest go be him hope.
