The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has reacted to a ban on social media platform, Twitter by President Muhammadu Buhari's government, Igbere TV reports.

On Friday evening, the Nigerian government announced that it will be suspending all Twitter operations in Nigeria. This development is coming a day after the platform deleted a tweet and a video from the President's official handle.

President Buhari had issued a tweet threatening genocidal violence on the South-East over its rising Insecurity.

Reacting to the suspension, Makinde tweeted;

many of these guys just say things based on "dem say"...they themselves have not confirmed it...they mislead some people and make them think the moment you get to those countries you will just become wealthy legitimately within one month...lol...and they made some people to spend all their life savings on trying to travel abroad,and when he or she finally gets there and becomes stranded and things did not go the way they were told then they become destabilised and start blaming their village people...if you want to travel no problem ,infact I advice people to travel if they have the opportunities ,but please do not spend all your life savings based on an information which you have not confirmed with your own eyes,do not listen to "I was told"...its better to listen to "I saw"...
