Civil servants can participate in active politics because it is allowed under the law and there are Supreme Court pronouncements on this which have become what we call case law in legal parlance, the only thing is can a civil servant who is a member of opposition party stave off victimisation from the ruling government which he works under?

I served in Calabar, Cross River for a year.
It happens to be that all we see in the media is different from what is real in the state.
Cross River is such a dilapidated state.
There is great decay in infrastructure; high rate of cultism; inter communal land dispute killing.
Even calabar is over hyped.
Ayade is doing nothing in that state. He travels outside the country more than his stay in the state.
Akwa Ibom that was carved from Cross River is far developed than Cross River.

God bless you dear, I also served in Cross River State, you are absolutely right. The Governor has devised the use of media to cover up his mediocrity and ineptitude. Take Calabar outta Cross River, what you have is carcass, bad roads everywhere, Obudu Mountain Resort has officially closed down for years, people there live in penury whereas, the governor believes the only way to empower the people is by employing over 5000 special assistants. He hardly spends one full month in the country but knows how to shed crocrodile tears when disaster happens and knows how to blow big grammar. There Was A Governor!

The incident happened on Tuesday 1st May. The cows killed there were over 25. The accident had just happened when our bus passed there en route Ibadan from Benue. The kid herders who are barely 10 years old caused the unfortunate incident out of sheer foolhardiness by herding over 25 cows on a narrow and busy bridge with a slopy descend. The Dangote truck loaded with cement was descending from the slope with intention to navigate through the bridge only for the driver to unexpectedly meet a herd of cows on the bridge walking majestically, considering the slopy terrain of the entrance to the bridge, the driver could hardly control the acceleration of the truck hence, it hit and crushed all the cows leaving two wounded and writhing in pain. The only touching moment was how the two young boys cried profusely like a bereaved child. Amidst this drama, we suddenly saw a middle-aged herdsman perhaps, their father holding a machete and surging towards the accident scene so, we zoomed off.

There are public parks like Agodi Gardens, Trans Amusement Park, the UI Zoo, e.t.c and countless cafeterias. It is as well safe for foreigners of different colours and backgrounds. You can see a cluster of Lebanese settlement at Onireke GRA, Israeli investors and Arab engineers at Oluyole Estate, and other places places like Agodi GRA, Bodija, e.t.c where you have whites scattered there.
