I Gave my life to Christ !

The above phrase must have been used by me for several years since salvation.

I had affirmed it as what happened as soon as I heard the gospel and believed.

Phrases used by us so frequently depict our understanding of scriptures.

Particularly the new birth is such that our thinking around it usually affects how we see every other issue

E.W.Kenyon( foremost bible teacher of the 20th century ) once said "Every denomination is defined by their view of the new birth .

Is the new birth ,salvation giving your life to Christ .

I searched all through the epistles and four gospels and book of acts and such phrase didn't correlate with what was written at all

John 1:12 KJV
[12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Faith in Christ is receiving not giving to Christ .

This pervades the entire teaching of salvation and the new birth

Acts 8:14 KJV
[14] Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

They received the word not gave to Him or it .

Believing is not giving but receiving

Since salvation and forgiveness of sins aren't rewards ,one can only receive.[/b

Very vital is that the unsaved man had nothing to give .

[5] Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

He's pronounced spiritually dead and such had no life to live to be given

[1] And you hath he quickened , who were dead in trespasses and sins;

A man raised from the dead didn't give .

He only received.

This is the true meaning of salvation.

Maybe the term ought to have been used for other things ,like service

Persecution is the subject matter here

Persecution in ministry work and service ,not salvation or the new birth .

Giving only happens when we serve not to be saved

Paul used the same phrase too

[5] And this they did , not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

Service.

At salvation and the new birth ,We don't give our lives to Christ .

We receive .God is the only giver here

[32] He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

We have nothing to lay claims to here

[4] Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
[5] But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Just like Abraham here .

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Our only action was to take from what God gave .

Hence no boasting about our response .

There's only one response ,it's faith

[27] Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

We didn't give our lives to be saved .

We receive His and we are saved .

Then we serve Him out of love not to be saved or be kept saved.

Maybe many of us need to shift in our minds ,

Maybe if this seeming little phrase which could easily go unnoticed could be effected to reflect its right use , many would see clearly and more visibly what actually happened ..

Not an exchange of lives ,but a NEW BIRTH.

From death to life

Not what we gave ,but what we received.

To save us,he had to be with us.Be like us and be for us.God with us.This isnt just d presence of God in our midst,for Jehovah had been with His people as they saw His presence and He never left them.Emmanuel refers to Gods existence as a man,He is now one of us.

He is with us in our sins,weakness,frailty and dirt.He will be tempted(Heb4:15).Not as God but as man.God cant be tempted(James1:13).He will eat food.Be thirsty.Hungry.Tired.Weak.He will pray,God doesnt pray.He will be surprised(Mark6:6),God doesnt,as He knows all things.He will eventually die!God doesnt die.This is the History of Christmas.

His sufferings were real,not a make believe,but a FACT TO believe.Today at Christmas we look at the Humanity of Divinity in Christ Jesus and see it fufill for us the Divinity in Humanity found in Christ-Jesus(Heb2:6-15/2Cor5:17-19)).

For our Christ has traced our motions.We are in Him Justified,He is in us glorified!Blessed?We win!

You people buying this idea should go and repent. If you are in Christ there is no room for any SIN whatsoever. If you do you are down going to HELL. No two ways to that. What the op explained is the true definition of the Gospel of Jesus. Salvation and righteousness can only come after believing in the Gospel of Jesus. It will never come by works because no man has ever done it that way including Abraham and all the prophets. Who are you to earn righteousness by works?

What did Abraham believe?. He believed a message that symbolises the message of the Gospel of Christ that we preach today. That is why we are called the sons of Abraham. The criteria used for Abraham to earn righteousness is what we enjoy in Christ today.

6. And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Righteousness can never come by works.

Because our God is a just God.
There is what we call "the law of procreation" in Genesis 1 and 2 which states that everything God creates will automatically recreate itself in its own likeness. But when Adam and Eve fell and earned the title of a sinner, they automatically subjected all humanity to that likeness based on the law of procreation.


Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned

John 3:18 whoever believes not is condemned already.

So before we were born, we already earned the title of a sinner and condenmed/judged to perish. Is that fair to?. Of course no.

So because our God is a fair and just God. He applied the same principle through Jesus.

Please don't compare Telecommunication industry to Power industry. They are different in every form of it. There is competition in Telecom industry to begin with. MTN, GLO, ETisalat, Airtel are all fighting for the same set of costomers. You can only give freedom to set price in a competitive environment. That is what brings down the price in the long run.

Discos is different. Only Ikeja electric can operate in Lagos so giving them the power to set price for the consumers will effect nothing positive in the long run because they have no competitors like that of the telecom operators.

Let me briefly introduce myself first before diving into the main issue.

My name is Baba-Tunde (lost my dad before I was born). 29 years old. I am the last of four. My mum did not remarry till we lost her two years ago.

I am a man with a very strong desire and determination to succeed. I have sacrificed a lot till date (including my sexual life) in order to make sure I deliver my vow of becoming the revolution in my family.

In year 2000, I had a serious leg injury that stopped my education for good four years and could not stand or walk for that period of time.

When I overcame the problem in year 2004 at mogbobi, the house was already drained financially. I was encouraged to learn hand work. I told myself to never sacrifice my academic dream for any challenge. I went on to use the money donated to me by some community people to set up a call center business at age 14 (in late 2004). I was able to single handedly finance my education till I gained admission to study Physics science at UNILAG in year 2009. It was really challenging for me to amend and turn the four years deficit around.

Fast forwarding to year 2013. Time for my 6 months industrial training program. I approached this couple that used to frequently buy recharge cards from me. The husband succeeded in helping me to do my IT in the company he was working for. I was so excited to begin work at ABC (the first in the family to work in a corporate organization) but never knew that a very costly accident/mistake was waiting to happen.

2 months after I started, we the IT guys were instructed to rearrange things in the computer hardware lab. So we took many 'system units' out during that process. When we started returning the system units back. I already bent my head down to carry one but another IT guy came with a fast speed to carry another beside the one I was about to carry. He mistakingly, seriously and swiftly hit my head with his system unit in the process. He told me sorry and left.

That was how it all started. In few hours later, I started feeling serious dryness and bites of pain in my head. If sun should shine on my head, it turns to heat inside my head.

With all the above signs, I still kept things to myself and taught things would go back to normal in time. I also did not want the person that brought me in to regret helping me in. So I endured with the injury till the end of the program. I failed to hold the company accountable.

When I resumed back at school, I went straight to UNILAG medical center, complained to them. They did Skull xray for me. They said they could not find anything wrong. They gave me sleeping tablets and pain killer drugs. I went back to meet them after few days that the symptoms were still there. They told me to take my mind off it that nothing is wrong with me.

That was how I started enduring the pains and learning how to live with it. I was on a CGPA of 4.22 before going for the IT program.

As a result of the injury, my assimilation level/mental energy seriously dropped and only got a GPA of 2.8 in my 400 level 1st semester. The more I think or read, the more I feel the pain and heat inside my head. I did everything possible to finish with 2:1 and got a GPA of 4.0 in my last semester. I finally finished with 3.9 CGPA.

I finished my NYSC in year 2016 and proceeded straight to computer village to learn laptop repair with the little money I saved during my NYSC period. It was very tough for me to learn with the head injury but did manage.

No financial strength to follow up on this long time injury.... Here I am today, scared to further my education or writing professional certifications like CCNA and IELTS.

I needed money to go through the medical routes, so I managed to start a white collar job 2 months ago. The work has been very demanding mentally than I taught and the injury seems getting worse.

I finally went to ifako-ijaiye general hospital last Saturday and was told to do CT scan. I plan to do that on Mon/Tuesday. Now i am scared of the possible outcome.

My regret now is. Why did I not hold the company accountable then and prevent all these dark years?

1. Don't start anything you can't finish. CO may request for evidence(s) you wont be able to provide in order to substantiate your marriage claims. Howbeit, get married legally.

2. You need documents to claim employment points. Get your supervisors to write a reference letter for each of the job roles. Also, you may need tax clearance for the jobs too. If you are unable to get the reference letters, it will be fine if you wait till you have a year experience but remember that 1 year experience is zero point.

3. I have no idea of the part time school thingy...other experienced individual can provide response.

My first degree is from UNILAG. That should be part of the tier 1 universities ?.

My lack of verifiable substantial work experience is really a set back. I will need to chill more with my current work.

I am 29 years of age (30 points). BS.c degree holder (15 Points). 45 points on ground for now.

My questions and challenges are.

1. How can I claim the 5 points from spouse when actually I am yet to marry ?. Anybody with a smart game plan for that should share.

2. I have been in IT (Computer Engineer/ Network Administrator) field for like 4 years now but it's hard to provide evidence for most because everything is just scattered. I had a 6 months work experience with Alpha-beta during my Industrial training program in their Information System department. I was active mostly in their Computer Engineer and Network Engineer units.

I went to learn fully Laptop Engineering work at a place in computer village and spent 1 year there. Only company name was registered there and not a limited company. Any way to claim this work experience ?

I worked personally for myself as a computer engineer with unregistered office for like 2 years but this is hard to prove.

I just started an office work with a reputable IT firm in similar IT field this Dec and can wait for atleast a year to gather more work experience before appling.

I am still surprised to see that many Nigerians are yet to see the huge potential in Crypto currency.
It is just a matter of time before we all come to the understanding that Crypto currency is truly here to stay and a revolution to both the masses and the government itself. Let me begin without wasting time.

1. Inflation.

Central authorities control fiat supply and can easily go at the back to print more notes for themselves and control the price and value. Crypto eliminates such governmental power/control because the way more coins are generated is decentralized and open to all. The price of a crypto coin is also directly reflective of the law of demand and supply while fiat is not. A btc may worth $9000 now and in the next hour/Min could worth/show greater or lesser value. The value (price) of a coin is determined (set) by traders (sellers and buyers) of the coin at Crypto Exchanges. Everything is visible and decentralised.

Such cannot be spoken of fiat currency. Your 1M balance in bank from last year will still show 1M today (that is if they have not deducted from it through various charges) but the purchasing power has likely dropped a lot. The inflation (printing of more money) is internally controlled and hidden from the public while the true value of fiat currency is not directly visible and responsive to the law of demand and supply.

For example, you threw 20M at treasury bill @ 15% per annum. The government takes your 20M, spend it and pay you the interest (300k) up front. After one year, your capital is returned. You know what ?. What your 20M could buy then, your 20M + 300k now will not be able to buy it. Why ?. Because the government spent your money then at a better value, went ahead as usual to print more and more excess money at the back end and pay you off from them. Did you really profit ?. On paper yes, but on value no.

The Labour union are on strike now demanding for an increment in minimum wage. Do you think that the government cannot pay 100k/200k naira as minimum wage ?. Off course they can. All what it takes is for them to secretly instruct the CBN to print more money to cater for that demand. At the end of the day, prices of goods will sky rocket. What your 18k minimum wage can buy now, your new 200k minimum wage will likely struggle to match it. The government is only scared of criticism because the effect will surely reflect on the exchange rate of Naira to Dollar and other international currencies. 1USD could now be trading for 900 Naira.

Goverments' manipulations and control like these are impossible with crypto Currency coin.

If I were you, I will use some portion of the money to buy bitcoin and keep till december.

Even when they decide to get paid in Naira, they will in return later exchange it to $ equivalent. Definately, our $ reserve will suffer for this.

Can you now see why the government is requesting for loans instead of printing the Naira equivalent ?.

I just spoke to their customer service agent. I was told that the sept quarterly payment was just activated yesterday. The transfer of 7k plus has already been initiated to my bank account. The quaterly payment system is not based on 3 3 months after your registration but fixed quarterly calendar for everybody (Jan-March, April-June, July-Sep and Oct-Dec). I was also told that 10 -10% tax will be charged for quarterly earnings.
