PoliticsRe: Atiku, PDP Seek Tribunal’s Permission To Inspect Inec’s Server by tuniski: 9:32am On Jun 12, 2019
netpro:
Atiku is fighting a lost battle. The reason is to save face from foreigners he took money from with promise to sell the NNPC and other national assets.

INEC servers and computers is inconsequential to the results. The Constitution only recognises results announced by Electoral Officers.
You are the 5 justices of the tribunal chai!

SirBunky85:
so,how is lawans emmergence as sp not a fair contest?
Who says it is not a fair contest? You simply think cos I am pro-pdp everything is argument abi? Abegi true democrats have moved beyond the election of NASS leadership by NASS members. If general elections are as near fair as this, then our democracy has matured.

your definition of democracy is when an anti buhari person immerges victorious abi? like I said, I hate hypocrisy
My definition and actually the definition of democracy is fair contest.

Jubilation for democracy not ndume and that is why I don't brood or mull around cos a candidate I support loses. It is democracy losing is part of it.

did saraki senate presidency reduce the cost of rice?
That is why there is no need to be ecstatic about an office that won't benefit you remotely.

SirBunky85:
if the bihari cabal had allowed Tinubu to handle the 2015 nass election, saraki and co wouldn't have pulled such mischief.thank goodness pmb has learnt his lessons by allowing Tinubu to be the arrow head dis time around and the difference can be seen by all.
Will that make price of garri to fall or make 10m citizens get employed?

Congratulations to Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. We are hopeful that he will bring his wealth of experience as floor member, minority leader, and majority leader to bear in piloting the affairs of the house. Truly, perseverance pays. Destiny can only be delayed, it can never be changed.

Where is people like Tonyebarcanista, Tuniski, Pachukwudi44 and other wailers who swore that Femi can never be speaker? Well, you wailers are not God. Femi is now speaker and he will preside over the affairs of the house for the 4 years. Ntoooor to you guys.
Congratz to femi and now no more excuses nor blame game buhari/apc have their rubber stamp NASS.

By the way, Congratz to you too as you assume your office as Speaker Gbaja's legislative aide.

I don't think the tribunal will allow him have access because if they do, a lot would be revealed.
A lot needs to be reveal for fairness and justice. Not allowing access will already give a picture of bias. By the way, what is InEC trying to hide sef?

For 16good years nass was controlled by the presidency, the president (s) kept changing SP like houseboys.
Is it that you were too young then to know that Nigeria is finished or it's just plain hatred for APC.
I will like you to go with the too young option
Wrong and lie!

Its a big shame that No igbo lawmaker is considered by PDP for any position, Its understandable if APC neglects them but PDP even getting the support of over 41m citizen majority tribe.

PDP would rather opt for Ndume that openly ridiculed Jonathan /PDP/ Saraki/Ekweremadu and a man which witnesses testified against in a dss Boko haram investigation
Watch and see what happens.
PoliticsRe: PDP Endorses Ali Ndume, Umar Bago "Senate President/ Speaker" by tuniski: 6:53am On Jun 11, 2019
DTaj:
Game of thrones!

My usually reliable sources (check my previous comments before dicey political games) told me that BOTH Ali Ndume (who Bukola Saraki crudely disgraced via almost one year suspension and withheld all his entitlements and influenced his removal as Senate Leader because he supported Magu of EFCC) and Umar Bago (a core Buhari boy from their CPC party era) were planted deliberately by APC and its smart/strategic planners with a view to giving PDP false hope!

This morning, Ahmed Lawan, PhD from the UK, and Femi Gbajabiamila, a US-trained lawyer and articulate parliamentarian, will be elected Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives!

APC guys have learnt from the Bukola Saraki error of 2015!
Lame! Lamer! Lamest!! Why give PDP hope when the choice is for the majority party to present candidates for NASS leadership? APC simply need to have a united front without noise and present sole candidacy QED. What is happening right now is a clear division in the ranks of apc that therefore give the opposition Pdp an invitation to have a say.
PoliticsRe: PDP Endorses Ali Ndume, Umar Bago "Senate President/ Speaker" by tuniski: 6:47am On Jun 11, 2019
Adeyinka123:
Wrong permutation for PDP. They would have asked their members to vote for their choices. Following the same path APC took. Too late
Pdp did the right and best thing for democracy and strategic national and party interests.
PoliticsRe: PDP Endorses Ali Ndume, Umar Bago "Senate President/ Speaker" by tuniski: 6:37am On Jun 11, 2019
etrouble:
After that, Ndume will be picked up by DSS to continue his case on his ties to Book Haram. He will go and join Sambo Dasuki and El-Zakzakky in jail indefinitely. Let's see who will die for him.
That will elevate Ndume to higher level. it will be clear to the world, he is being persecuted for standing up and speaking out in defense of democracy and legislative independence.
PoliticsRe: PDP Endorses Ali Ndume, Umar Bago "Senate President/ Speaker" by tuniski: 6:15am On Jun 11, 2019
seunmsg:
I just pity Ndume and Bago, both of them will be thoroughly disgraced today.
There is nothing like disgrace in contesting and losing the leadership position of NASS. Rather the two of them and the radicals within the rank of APC are heroes. Whatever happens the Executive/apc will know that NASS will not be rubber stamp.
PoliticsRe: Breaking: APC In High Level Meeting With Lawmakers Elect by tuniski: 4:34pm On Jun 10, 2019

This is a meeting to no effect if the division between Ahmed Lawan and Ali Ndume is anything to go by.

Are you ok? 5 million is too small but can your ndume afford it...
The leader will emerged without monetary purchase of votes. The PdP members of NASS that will vote against Lawan/Gbaja are driven not by money. Such non monetary impetus and conviction is what is making #CampLawan&Gbaja to be jittery. Tonight the deal will be sealed and tomorrow will be coronation.

Those who will vote against apc are rebels and adherent of independent legislature from apc and the bloc votes of pdp.

senatordave1:
Ndume is more pro buhari than lawan,he is too wild and aggressive to lead.most senators do not like him if you are studious of nass happenings. lawan is generally accepted across party lines.
Saying only the fg were fighting saraki alone is a lie.more than half of apc senators opposed him till his tenure ended.he was a divisive figure unlike David mark.lawan is just like mark, highly diplomatic.he will balance the interest of both the nass and presidency.i cant see how saraki protected the interest of nigerians.between saraki and buhari, who is more with the masses?
Buhari's only interest is the preface PRESIDENT he doesn't care.

That was a quintessential case.reports yesterday made mention of 25 million as bribe from fg which are rumors.i now know why you always fail in analysis, you are too theoretical and believe too much on western based ideals.this is Nigeria and materialism is the biggest drive in electios, only few are there for the masses
The senators are worth far more than 5m naira inducement. An amount that is not up to a month's allowance.
PoliticsRe: Battle For The Green Dome: Who Will Lead The 9th NASS? by tuniski: 11:49am On Jun 10, 2019
Shaprara:
The number “less the 500 people” makes the whole thing interesting brotherly, ask any politician when the voting block is low then there is a big chance of a surprise and unforeseen occurrences. Nonetheless lawan and Gbaja seems are the clear favorites no doubt. I think Nigerians are sensitive to the situation that 2015 is doable because lawan was openly endorsed by the FG, and femi was endorsed as well but in the 8th Assembly it was the FG that was fighting’s Saraki not the senators themselves which shows to extent that there interest was protected somehow, so Lawan could be doing the interest of the FG and proxy over the senators which they might not like because there would be direct influence of the executive but Ndume could be the resistance force while all interest is protected. But it’s politics and whoever emerges so be it. Nigerians just want a better Congress
Until the ballot are cast Lawan and Ndume, Gbaja and Bago are 50:50.

You are spot on with the narrative on sample size. It is far easier to resist apc/PMB in a small sample space of men and women who know their onion and worth their salt.

senatordave1:
This is not a general elections, its an election among less than 500 people so its easy to foretell.the guy is right, femi and lawan are the clear favorites.the chances of ndume and bago is almost non existent.the numbers are realistic.in 2015 femi got 174 votes.common sense shows that it will only increase.the endorsement is important if not no one will seek for it.if lawan gives all the 44 pdp lawmakers 5 million each and ndume gives them nothing, who will they likely vote being that most of them are there for their pockets
What an insult to the senators. So 5m is their worth?

You are correct there, we shall know the main result but there's something you Africa don't put into cognisance most times, there's a process before success can be achieved, that process count alot. And before we get to see main result of their election, we'll predict possible outcomes based on results on ground. But you opposition forces just count not only process but on luck and wishful thinking. Wishful thinking doesn't do it, its action
Who says opposition ain't doing its work? You will know the extent of their work on the floor of the senate and House of Reps.

which kano, Lagos state alone has 24 seats at house of reps. Nyamiris over flogged fallacy of northern voting on sentiments cut across the region .2019 elections has exposed the reality that northerners and south Westerners re the only region that plays sophisticated politics.
North had the opportunity to extend their reign to 12 yrs instead they opted for Buhari, they dealt with all their governors that failed to perform same in southwest. But nyamiris re-elected ikpeazu a kerosene sharing governor that owes more than 20 months salary because of hatred for Apc.
And what have you just said? A disastrous buhari was voted for by people with political sophistication? What a shame to sophistry!

This is quite interesting, this is how it should be, some people may claim he is a stooge that is being forced on the 'house' where reverse is the case. The man went round the country to solicit support, convinced state gov's and his colleagues, assures them he knows what he is doing and what's to be done, and people bought into his vision. Compare this to PDP era, where its a inhouse/presidential caucus arrangement. I'm not in anyway badmouthing election/selection process in PDP era, i am only pointing out that this particular candidature process is better.

I can't say same about Lawan's senate aspiration.
Jamboree is not idealism of collegiate election. Tomorrow we shall know the truity of endorsement and voting! Tonight the leadership will be decided irrespective of all the shenanigans of the last two months including the chaff claim of 230 endorsements.
