Allah has placed tremendous power in the Quran and Ayatul kurisiu (Quran chapter 2 verse 255) is one of those. Next time you are moody or depressed kindly do this:

Recite Ayatul Kurisiu very very slowly. Anywhere you are. Recite it continuously but very very slowly.

Insha Allah it will cure your depression and strengthen your belief in Allah.

Remember to continue reading it daily as recommended because whatever the cause of your depression is, psychological, emotional or physical it will always come back for a fight and Kurisiu na him papa! Dem no born am well.

Have you noticed that in the hadiths, when the Prophet (SAW) recommends duas for people, it's usually between 1 to 100 times? Even when he suggested more than 100, it was just a recommendation, not a command. In fact, most times there's no fixed number at all.

The reason is simple. Islam is an easy religion. Every single word and sentence you utter as a Muslim is listened to by Allah. Allah is very close to us. We do not need to call His name thousands of times for Him to answer us. Allah Himself said in the Qur’an, "Remember Me, and I will remember you" (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:152).

Even the Prophet (SAW) said we should use our fingers to count. You can use counting materials only if your memory is like that of elderly people who easily forget.

Have you noticed that since you’ve been counting and reciting dhikr in billions, nothing really seems to happen? And if anything does happen, it’s usually because your mind feels calm after exhausting yourself. Let’s be honest, that’s not necessarily a spiritual breakthrough.

And look at those people who carry tesbih up and down, reciting dhikr all the time at lightning speed. Their mouths just keep moving nonstop, and before you know it, people start calling them Alfa. Sincerely, you don’t need all that. What Allah really wants is your presence of mind.

We are lucky in Islam. Allah doesn’t even require full concentration before He responds. But truth be told, you’ve been putting yourself through unnecessary stress. You are not as holy as you think in the eyes of Allah. Someone who says dhikr just three times, slowly and with presence of mind, will be more valued by Allah than someone who says it 10,000 times while distracted.

So what should you do to get your prayers and duas answered by Allah? Simple. No stress. No need to measure up to huge numbers. When you pray or recite dhikr, do it slowly and intentionally. For example, if your dhikr is Ya Lateef, drop the tesbih and try this method:

Ya Lateef (pause 3 seconds) Ya Lateef (pause 3 seconds) Repeat like this, calmly...

You can go on for as long as you like, but there's no pressure to hit 10,000. Insha Allah, Allah will surprise you so much you’ll think you’re dreaming.

Same thing with Astaghfirullah. It’s one of the most powerful dhikr for forgiveness, mercy, and even sustenance. But speed isn’t the goal. Try this instead:

Astaghfirullah (pause 3 seconds) Astaghfirullah (pause 3 seconds) Keep it consistent and present.

Also, when you're performing salat and reciting various surahs, slow it down too. For example, Surah Fatiha can be done like this:

Bismillahi Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem (pause 1 second) Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen (pause 1 second) Continue like that...

Even the Subhanallah ×33 that we do after salat should be recited in this way with presence, not haste.

Approach your worship like this and you’ll see changes faster than you ever expected. Sometimes all it takes is 10 sincere repetitions, not a million rushed ones, and Allah will still answer you.
