TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Tvegas(m):
She picked her luggage and an officer directed her to Secondary inspection. In total she spent 7 mins in Secondary Inspection because she timed herself.
Male CO: What is your Date of birth? She told him. You came to have your baby?
Wife: Yes
CO: Please bring your luggage and place it here.
Wife: She told him it's too heavy, she cant lift it.

Male CO: He smiled and helped her to place it on the table for scanning. He glanced through briefly picked only her medical report and read through. He asked how she will pay, advised her to keep her receipts. He didn't check or count her cash. He didn't seize any of her food. Her Dr appointment wasn't checked. He gave her a clearance paper and told her "Welcome to the US".

A trusted taxi driver picked her in Houston ,she headed to Bank of America to deposit some of her cash. (Make una open bank account on ur next visit, you may need it later. Wellsfargo and BoA are everywhere. It's easy to open an account once you have a US address. it's not safe for preggies to carry such cash around).

Lessons Learnt

1.Involve God in your journey. I fasted a day before she left and asked for all round favor, grace and mercy and that's what we got. Prayer works please don't underestimate its power.

2. Get it right from the beginning. If you are going for interview say the truth . If you've had your visa before conceiving, inform the embassy. In fact, She wrote the embassy about her change of destination from Elpaso to Richmond TX ,the Abuja Consular replied with a single line "Dear ma,Please be informed that a change in destination does not pose a problem". Phema helped her to edit the letter. They didn't ask about the letter at the POE but she had it just in case.

3. Even when you Pray, Be prepared for Anything. I told her to pack Cakes and Protein bars in her hand bag in case she faces long questioning at the POE. We did this because of those Houston horror stories. One week before her trip we started role-playing . I play the role of Border officer asking her POE questions. I got tired so i printed the questions for her because she was a playful and unserious student and I wasn't a very patient teacher either. Lol.

Before her trip, she also deleted all funny messages because of all those aproko officers that check phones. Last week, A Border officer in Atlanta called a lady's husband in Nigeria to confirm if her story was true, thank God his phone was with him. He answered their questions. I also kept my phone beside me. I gave her photocopy of my US visas and ticket to show she is married but they didn't check.

4. If you are going through Atlanta be ready for secondary inspection. 90% of preggies have not been able to dodge it. I have been keeping record, It is the norm in Atlanta.

5. Lastly, Avoid Houston POE ,i cant stress it enough.I once told a friend on this thread to go and reroute her ticket away from Houston or else we won't talk. Go to Dallas ,Newark,Orlando and New York if possible .

This thread has been a blessing. I have met a couple of members and they are all great people. Bloggerina, MrsDan, Lizcom25 and everybody thanks for checking on me. Praying all of us have good stories to tell at The End.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Tvegas(m):
My people, how una dey?. I have missed you all , it's been my busy season at work . Apart from that there was nothing new from me, so i was waiting for madam to get to US before posting. But i kept checking the thread to know watzup, Justwise i can see you've been in serious battle of late. If you delete my post na stick I go use pursue you.....lol.

My Wife got to US on Saturday and it was a testimony for us. I am going to be detailed with her itinerary because i don't know which information may be beneficial. Na una dey find me, so make una take sit and follow my Story.

The testimony started from Lagos, Delta didn't check her fit to fly at all. After filling the Ebola form, she joined the long queue to scale through security but the officers excused her to join the fastrack line (Tip 1: For Preggies travelling soon, pls Carry your belle go fast track you will join the first class guys to clear security quickly). As soon as she cleared security a cart driver in MMA picked her up and drove her to her boarding gate (Tip 2: Don't trek except you wanna exercise, ask to be driven). By then I could go no further i went to the terminal till she boarded.

The hostess were nice. She landed in Atlanta by 5:13am , I logged on to Hartfield-Jackson airport website to track her flight because I was very anxious,i couldnt sleep well. By 6:28am Atlanta time, she called and told me she had cleared security and was at her departure gate for the next flight to Houston. An American who sat beside her on same flight gave her his phone to call me and even escorted her to her boarding gate. I knelt down and thanked the almighty because that speed blew my expectations. Below is her story: She was interviewed by a White Female officer:
Wife: Good morning ma (She gave CO her passport)
CO: Goodmorn ma, how many weeks is your pregnancy?
Wife: 33 weeks
CO: Oh i see that's like 7 months. How long are you staying in the US?
Wife: 11 weeks
CO: (Starts scanning her passport) Did you tell them you are coming to have your baby in the US?
Wife: Yes I did, I applied for a B1/B2 medical visa.
CO: You mean if i check your info now i will see you are given a medical visa?
Wife: Yes ma, please check.
CO: (Laughed) How much cash do you have?
Wife: $10,000 and my hubby's Bank of America card.

(NOTE: There seems to be a misconception on this thread. I see most preggies going with 9.9k, 9.5k etc The declaration form require you to declare cash above $10k only. It means you can carry $10k without declaring. Even if you have more than $10k it will only boost your story ,go ahead and declare it)

CO: Ok that's good, any other currency.
Wife: No ma.
CO: Will you be here alone?
Wife: My hubby will join me in few weeks time.
CO: Do you know about Medicaid?
Wife: Yes, I will not accept any aid because I know the implications (smiles)
CO: Don't accept any because if you do you may be denied visa at your next interview.
Wife: Ok ma thanks.
CO: Any food? Agusi, iru, Pomo,CO started laughing . Wife told her all she had and she wrote them down. She asked about her EDD? Wife told her. she typed a bit and stamped her in for 6 months. Do have a lovely stay in the US.....................................To Be Continued

The fare promo was supposed to end this wednesday and it has ended last week because there is no more space. No pains because there is greater joy now.
Buy multiple ticket naa, make we follow you go do owambe for elpaso. grin. I guess Delta just used that promo to drive traffic or maybe they actually got oversubscribed.

You are welcome to the thread. I will start by saying the days of packaging pregnancies at the POE is far gone, but a lot of people still do it. Even though the USA does not advertise Birth Tourism, however it is not illegal to give birth in the USA if you can convince the Border Officer with Dr's appointment and cash. Dont let anyone mislead you because you will hear a lot of wrong information out there.

Take my case for instance, I met an elderly friend at the American ambassador's residence on July 1st,during the independence day celebration. He is a commercial attache at the US embassy but knows nada about the birthing process. I told him about my plans to birth in the USA and he warned me not to follow wifey for her interview, that they may cancel my visa and that wife should package her pregnancy at the POE. Whose words was i suppose to believe,if not him?. Luckily i stumbled on this thread took my time to read and applied everything. Its even easier for you because you have a visa already, notify the embassy of your plan. You will be travelling by the 7th/8th month, so you have at least 2 months to read this thread and jot down all the information needed. Wish you the best.

@Tvegas you need to think before writing not just post whatever comes to your mind. First, did you not read that I am sick and will write the poe story later? I won't even let you spoil my joy of feeling a bit better these days. Please just try to think before you post always.
Hhhmmm and you could write all that and still didn't post the POE story?. I hereby withdraw all my apologies to you , Madam I am not sorry 1 inch. If everybody collects before they give back to the thread it won't grow. Your coming back to share was a matter of probability. Telling your POE story or not won't change anything anyways, I just felt you shouldn't have sown the seed of FEAR if you aint ready to share it.

Besides you are responsible for your own joy, nobody can be held responsible for it. Because of your health, I will let the matter rest. Hope you got the spreadsheet anyways? Best of luck.

Easy man!...
I am not struggling O! I posted that comment because of the member quoted below who related similar ordeal a week ago and never showed up again to educate us on why she was deported at the Point of entry. Whether you like it or not ,a little seed of fear was sown in my mind with that post. So if i beg this new poster to clarify her "Terrible Point Of Entry Experience" is it bad? If She took 8 lines to introduce herself ,explain her circumstance and asked for excel sheet and i thought she could also spare 4 lines to summarise her POE experience. Is it too much to ask?.

Besides, the Genomi sharing excel sheet with everyone, has she gone through the Point of entry herself? Isn't it fair if i say they should exchange some information?. Finally i already prostrated and begged the woman in advance incase she finds my comment offensive, because I can be very wrong,I am not always right. Cheers

Sorry about your health ma,wish you quick recovery. But I feel you should have shared your POE story at once to educate others instead of postponing it so those travelling won't harbor fears for POE. We were at the Abuja US embassy on Friday, unfortunately  our VISA was not granted . I don't know  the exact reason for the denial and what to do now. Background ‎1. My international  passport is 2 months old. ‎2.Monthly salary is around 200k plus .3 Wife 100k  plus ,and wife was denied a visiting visa a year ago.‎
Your situation is a bit clear, sorry about the denial though. Probably The VO is not convinced you have the financial muscle to pay the bills that comes with childbirth. Let's do some calculation , your combined salary is 300k X 12 = N3.6 million. Because you are travelling as a couple, For normal delivery you may spend about N2.4 mill and for CS you can spend up to N3.6 mill. So he thinks how will you cope with these bills?. Besides you are travelling to Richmond, one of the wealthiest and expensive suburbs of Houston.

All Visa officers believe you should have some excess in your account after all bills are paid. The travelling experience you don't have may also count. My conclusion is, you should have allowed your wife apply alone and both of you act as sponsors. If You Want to reapply together you should wait a little for the situation to change.

ErmTvegas, you should be very certain before you say somethings. The only place I disagree with you is the fact that none of the doctors are on that sit you posted. The doctor that was attached to my letter is even the first doctor on that list! Yes they are agents no doubt, what we have to do is let them start signing the letter, attach a doctors name and possibly get another letter from the doctor and I am seriously working on that.I don't even think they really call immigration if you don't show up. I think that's what they just use to scare people.
Ok maybe thats a new development but the old letters dont have any of those Doctors, the letters were also not signed. If they've changed the format, good for them. Hopefulme can also state the name on the letter rejected by the Visa Officer.

About Reporting people to custom one of their old clients attested to that on this site, so what do you want us to believe?.

They also placed the following disclaimer on the first page of the doctoresparati website: Legal Disclaimer: This page is intended for informational purposes and does not constitute a doctor-patient relationship.

I never wrote anything so strange ,Did i?. Cheers
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Tvegas(m):
nenih:
I disagree with you as well. Doctores Parati are no agent linking up patients with Del so Medical center.
I have promised not to get myself involved in some arguments but sorry i just found it difficult to ignore the bolded portion of your post. Please open this link http://www.eastsidewomenshealthcarecenter.com/meet-doctors-women.html The list of East side doctors are clearly stated there.

(1) Why are non of those Doctors listed on Doctoresparati letter?

(2) If Doctores para ti is the clinic why cant they kuku write Eastside Women Health Center on their letterhead?.

(3) So who is Rodolfo and Melissa the guys who answers your email and signs your letter? Are they Medical Doctors on that site NO, so what is their job? they are probably middlemen or agents who understand the industry?

You should also check the Eastside and Del sol websites to see if there is any reference to Doctoresparati. So the question is What is Doctores parati exactly? It's AN AGENCY . Are they very good at what they do? Yes maybe. Have people used them before? Yes Maybe.

To further buttress the AGENCY point of view have you ever seen any Big Doctor or Hospital reporting to customs that a client who used their letter at the Point of entry never showed up for treatment?. NO. A big hospital got no time for such. But Doctores para ti reports you to US Customs if you use their letter without showing up because its purely a business set up. NONE of the things the Visa Officer said is WRONG but if anybody still want to carry the letter to the embassy, i wish them goodluck i can even help them apply. Cheers

That was the end of the interview. Wish it didn't go this way
1.Please let us see the above and rub minds together so that we can address the issue raised by the VO.
2.The VO seem so certain and body language says a lot.
3.He actually requested for a doctors appointment. Saying licensed doctor ( this could help others getting doctors)
4.He said affiliated doctors are mostly found on the web of the hospital or can be confirmed from the hospital (Will be confirming today if doctoresparati is affiliated. would do research to confirm)
5. I think the letter of medical responsibility should be signed
I find this transcript personally painful because it is obvious you are well qualified for the NIV but the Doctors appointment cost you. Its also painful because i came to this site as soon as we had similar experience to sound the caveat to intending applicants to consider other options. The issue was between the female VOs in Lagos but i guess its spreading to the males.

There is nothing stopping applicants from applying with other Doctor's letter and after obtaining the visa, head to EL PASO to birth if that's what they prefer. Some successfully used the letter recently so it has become a 50/50 thing. You should re-apply ASAP with another's Doctors letter and explain this situation to them at the next interview, the VO has said it all so there is little brainstorming to be done here. Unofficially or Officially Doctores Para ti Letter has become a ground for refusal.

I already wrote above that I have met his dad and uncle and friends. His dad absolutely adores me but his mom passed away 11 years ago. His uncle is a lagos socialite and always invites me and bf out to events all d time.
I think d more pertinent point here is learning how to communicate and work on issues and setting up a solid foundation.
Babe dont dwell too much on the family affection even though it is a good sign because i have seen instances where families warm up to any spouse that the black ship of the family brings just to get him or her hitched. You are on the right track by asking questions but you are approaching it the wrong way. You dont have any business with his EX,trust me the outcome of your meeting with her wont be good. What exactly do you want her to say? That she was at fault and your guy is an angel and you should marry him?

Also, A marriage that will last shouldnt start with snooping and continuous investigations. Here comes some of the Red Flags i see in your spouse, he should have cleared the air as soon as the issue started. So i am starting to ask if he respect you? Make sure you fix the communication problem before going forward.Secondly, if he is such a gentleman why didnt he honor his family and friends by inviting them to partake in the crashed traditional marriage? Take your time to know this man . Best of luck

@Tvegas,Can you please expand your advice that I should package her finances well as i dont want to leave any stone unturned. Her finances are not as solid as mine and thus I am the sponsor of the trip. Also where it says monthly income, is it expected that one states his year income prorated by 12 months or one should state the net monthly income after tax, pensions, national housing all other bebe looo deductions. It think this was one of my previous application downfall as i stated after all deductions Thanks
The problem is,its difficult to give a straight answer as every applicants case differs. The best is to read through those who have successfully had their visa approved to learn what they did right. About the income, i posted an answer on it few pages back, what is needed is a yearly average after tax and deductions. You have applied once with a monthly figure,it wont be wise to change it significantly within a short period.

Truth is i dont have an idea how Almighty Delta arrived at such prices. Till now i still feel maybe there was a glitch in their server or systems, but whats done is done. Some people already cleared out those tickets for as low as 93k. I saw it at 114k on Travelstart yesterday. Maybe the title should be changed but there is still some miles and money to be saved before it gets to the standard 300k,so i will suggest the topic can be changed but left open for those who havent booked.
