Standardguy:lol, give them time or mail them. |
Standardguy:I got mine this today and i bank with Gtbank. |
samguru:No matter how we cut this scenario, its insensitive on the part of UBA to cut dividend payout, if you cant increase dividend then you should maintain status quo. With naira losing value by an average of 10% per annum and with real market inflation at 30%, every investor should be concerned about the annual return and inflow on their investment. With the way Nigeria is going there is no guaranty that future investment by UBA will yield superior return, we are all just taking risk. My motto now is "Na wetin bird chop na him he go take fly". |
zimams:These are the types of result that makes investors wonder if holding a long term position on the NSE is really worth it. Consider if you bought at N6 in March 2020 and Sold at N9 in November 2020 that 50% profit could have been reinvested elsewhere. |
And these people don't see any sense in Nigerians having regional police systems because they want to hold on to power? One day na one day monkey go go market e no go return. These days I avoid CNN because of shame, Nigeria is all over the news in terms of kidnapping. The end of this failed experiment called Nigeria should come quickly. |
Rabbidoracle hope you are doing good. It's been a while. |
ukay2:In trying to buy the future also remember that the future is unknown. Enjoy today, ensure you splash some major portion of your profit on yourself. Buy that Benz ,buy that Rover, buy that latest phone make yourself very happy,Help your families, Bless other people , lift them from poverty. As an investor living in Nigeria once you clock 40 start writing your will and start ensuring that a substantial part of your income is splurged on you. If you are a teenager or you are in the 20s,30s you still have a lot of time to keep saving and buying the future. We've learnt a thing or two from 2020. |
MeghaneMorgane:Just be yourself and lock your legs while taking time to learn more about him and his background. Thank me in a years time. |
anjilgreat:When people start calling those far fetched entry prices people should know its time to start buying. I still believe there is one more bullish surge on the NSE before prices start declining in April. |
This is how every forward thinking country should operate, transport combustibles like petrol through rails and underground channels. With that we can stop the constant explosion and roasting of innocent lives on our roads. |
DrAwo:I Just wanted to add that 2008 is different from 2021. I lost a lot of funds in 2008 so i have an idea of what you are saying. The guys investing in penny stocks right now mostly know what they are getting into, in 2008 we were just following the likes of Stockswatch buying up dead companies that had no office address . Genuine Information and Investing tools were scarce back then. Presently Selling or Buying is at the tip of their fingers. I think the market will never be complete without gamblers, If you look at the volume done on many of these penny stocks there is really nothing much to lose if things go south. Sir also consider the recent spate of inflation, cement was 2600 six months ago presently its 3600. These inflationary trend should Reprice all classes of assets including stocks. So i wont be suprised if we see the re-pricing of some stocks, i mean new highs becoming lows. (Though this is NSE where commonsense doesnt apply most times) Finally the Fixed income market is presently unattractive with poor returns, i think funds will stay in this market much longer. I also think the Bull will keep moving some stocks while leaving some behind but anyone expecting the Covid drop seen in March 2020 is on a long journey. I for one sold off my stakes months ago but there is no attractive fixed income investments right now hence i am back in the market putting some funds into WAPCO and VITAFOAM. |
S007:This is serious o,this is the downside of Monkey Hunting. ![]() |
steveneche:That's a 1 million question that can only be answered by your initial investment target. Wise people won't stick their neck out on this, incase things go sideways. ![]() |
BrokerHaruna:Lol the Katanga man shows face again, what happened to Guinness at N100? ![]() |
There is no fire in Katanga today? ![]() |
nna777:I think you wanted to say flagged and not blacklisted. Legally there is nothing wrong with this move as various forms of reporting is common with financial transactions in Nigeria. For example Banks and Real estate developers have statutory obligation to report some transactions to EFCC through SCUML and other regulatory authorities. Only few comply though. However Growth wise this is another foolish move by the Buhari government because there is time for everything. A wise leader wont bring such policy to a market that is on a recovery journey as investors may bolt with their money. With the way this military regime is borrowing and restricting funds they may soon start to freeze bank deposits. |
PharmAlfred:ACCESS will eventually move to N14, it's just a matter of time. |
Harvestock01:This is the reason I think this Bull is not going anywhere for a while. The interests on fixed income investments are just too appalling at the moment. If you sell now what will you invest in? |
All these talks of green energy displacing fossil fuel can be too optimistic. In the western world Green energy may not achieve this displacement for the next 20 years. People also forget that Green energy is expensive to maintain , How often will you change batteries? How many solar panel is needed to power a village? How long can automobile batteries last and how often do you need to recharge? What level of speed can you achieve with electric cars? What of the other uses for petroleum products in the cosmetics industry, fashion industry etc? Yes the western world is transitioning to green energy but it will take sometime. For some regions like Africa it will take like 50 years or Never. However Nigerians should not bank on this arguement to stay glued to oil,we should diversify our revenue sources asap. |
babakb:Visa free does not automatically translate to work permit in other countries. For example If you stay beyond 6 months in Europe which those golden passports from the Carribbean permit, you will be tagged an illegal alien. |
yMcy56:Ok I will revert |
Mcy56:Ok sorry about that, didnt think of this option. You people are the nairaland Gurus . You can email me on dcl2800@yahoo.com, |
igbosoro:No sir, i won't recommend anything at this point. Do your due diligence and trust your gut. |
Mcy56:Hi dear, kindly quote me on a dead/blank thread. I have not been able to read PM from members in my inbox for a while now. |
My take on WAPCO, I was expecting an EPS of at least 60kobo instead of 30kobo. I was a bit dissapointed. Though we have to factor the rainy season spanning JUNE to AUGUST into WAPCO's result. Despite all that WAPCO is still very cheap considering his Colleagues in the industry, WAPCO shouldnt be selling less than N25 by the time 4th quarter result comes out. IF BUA with a full year EPS of N1.79 could do N35 as at 2020, IF Guinness with a loss per share of 38kobo could sell for N17, If CAPL with an EPS of N1.33kobo could sell for N19.60 in 2020. Then WAPCO with an EPS of N1.75 should not be selling for anything less than N25. But who am i to dictate to Mr Market, If Mr Market can price Zenith a N40 stock at N21, then it can even sell WAPCO at N15. However, Infomation reaching me says Cement Price is going up before year end, WAPCO management will be cheats if they dont declare a better result by the 4th quarter. |
jideflash:You are very lucky, I tried selling some it kept dropping. The chances of selling Wapco at 18.80 was slim last week. Volume also matters. |
Mcy56:Yeah it's becoming tougher recommending stocks right now because most of them have done their appreciation. Investors should probably keep their cash and come back by March/April 2021. If we can have the historical price behaviour of Zenith when dividend was paid between 2017 to 2019, that will be a good option. we may also be able to predict how much price will drop. I won't include 2020 because that Zenith drop was one of a kind. |
Mcy56:Let's consider this scenario for the newbie If he buys Zenith at N20 and we assume that Zenith is N21 on markdown date. After mark-down let's assume Zenith Loses another 10%. The actual return may be close to nil. Of course you've balanced things by advising him on a low entry price. A major issue will remain if Zenith will likely go down or up after Dividend declaration and by what margin? |
Mcy56:It's well with you dear. |
helinues:Nigerians gat no more chills |
Mcy56:All Zenith knows how to do is huge volume without tangible movement. Very lethargic and disappointing stock in terms of capital appreciation. |
