Gracydee: Hello Everyone,God bless your hustle my sister,I for follow this Waka but colorado far small . The only thing I know about colorado is that dem dey call am "The Centennial State". Just chill better people will soon show with correct information some of them don waka reach Singapore,Alabama infact birthing waka plenty. But if nothing dey, make you join us for border. |
Lmao @ MIHS embargo. Anyway, we are people of "the border". Our fellow border mates,we dey hail o! The borders rock,no time for embargo or long reviews. ![]() |
Tiwalope: Good afternoon everyone and happy sunday.I have been a silent follower of this forum for sometime now and I have few questions I haven't been able to read about in this forum since I started following. I would like to find out if anyone has ever delivered in Rhodes island, the cost and all it entails. Its because No one knows it all on the thread, the Closest to Rhode Island i have read here is the Wyckoff Medical center in New York with normal delivery of $6500 discovered by Babababy. Note that most hospitals up north are quite pricey. |
ajoke01: Don't accept help from anyone, innocent acts can put you in trouble. Do not lie, be consistent from the Visa application till you get to ur final destination. Most importantly pray to God for a stress free journey.Congrats on your POE ,the last line summarizes it all . I feel those officers were just doing too know, some people even travel with ponmo, catfish etc and they wont trouble them .Although, I dont subscribe to people helping strangers at the airport to deliver packaged goods but there is nothing bad in an elderly helping a pregnant woman with her luggage. All in all its Gods favor. major1p: Oh Please. Don't insult our intelligence here. Your name alone gives you away as a travel agent. You're just very subtle about your marketing style. All it takes is to click on your name and your posts on other topics advertising flights will come up. You don't have to refer to yourself as an agent.I decided to ignore the guy in order not to derail this thread. As you've said lets keep the focus of the thread on the cost and procedure of Giving birth in the USA. |
UP MAN UTD |
Nita2013: Hi Tvegas, I was told by my hospital in Nigeria that d rule states that d average flying time for a Preggy is 34weeks (ie 34weeks + 6days).Congrats on your stress free POE, my wife is also leaving earlier. I don't just want us to create fear in the mind of those travelling later. dserious: ohk, so i arrived the U.S yesterday with my big belle (im 37 weeks). I thank God for grace; and u nairalanders, cos i applied all d tips i received here.Congrats babe, This is what I term presidential POE and I love the gangster part. Shall we elect you the rebel leader for pushing it till the 37 week and for chasing that man from his sit? ![]() |
lizcom25: @tvegas: true. Agency always have a way of getting reduced prize..Sometimes this holds true and I don't have anything against where people book their tickets. The agent who started the argument twisted my words and i had to correct him. However I have had nasty experiences with some travel agents which turned my default mode to "do it yourself". lizcom25: Every pregnant woman have a choice to make for safety purpose. Why will you wait till 35/36 wks bfore flying? Whatever that will keep you till then is the choice you have made over safe journey and birthingThe average flying week for preggies on this thread in the past was the 35th week and they were all fine. We should let each person consider their pocket and body then decide which week is best for them without putting fear in their mind. The 34th week is not a law, body differ from body. |
MerryMom: Truth is, whether you lie or not, VO will decide the eligibility before issuing visa so why lie to create loads of problems for yourself and other family members in future?God bless you ma,This is the summary of the matter. Eligibility for NIV comes before any other factor. All of us lie but some lies are unnecessary. I know 2 people who didn't declare medical on their DS160 but told the VO the truth when asked about pregnancy, the VO went ahead to include that in their record and still issued their visas because they are well qualified for NIV. |
olamuah: Pls have been following dis thread need some advice urgently, hv been to d embassy July wit my family for vacation but was denied visa although I was preg then nd was asked I said no, and my kids passport still virgin we have nt traveld together before and nw want to reapply but wit my hubby alone and this time making it obvious am going to give birth, my appointment is soon but am scared what if am asked y I lied the last time dat I wasn't preg what should I say?although hv gotten letter from doctores para Ti. Thnks waiting for ur reply ASAPMadam if truly you've been following this thread, you will see that some consequences often accompany lying, chief of them is a 10 year ban for misrepresentation or cancelling an already issued Visa for same reason. The VO has most likely noted the false answer on your record, you can read my transcript as an example. Also,Doctores parati cannot resolve the inconsistency on your record as they also beg their patient to always say the truth at every point. Left to me, i will drop the idea for now as you've made the issue difficult but nothing is impossible so you may still go ahead. malory84: You can tell them you had not made proper arrangements with doctors and hospitals, so you were not really sure , and because you also didn't state childbirth in ur form, so you didn't want to complicate issues. and you had also heard from alot of people how they reject preggy women. or u can as well just tell them the truth that u were scared do u lied! The gurus in d house can give u more adviceMalory I appreciate your willingness to advice the OP but consider this fact. Do you know that a lot of NIV applicants who are repeatedly denied US visas are under the 10 year ban for misrepresentation but its not the VO's responsibility to tell them hence they keep burning their hard earn cash via several applications?. Poster can try her luck but its an obvious risk someone like me wont take. The DS160 does not even give you any direct means to declare childbirth, what you find under B2 is medical/tourism and that medical can be for eye, nose or leg treatment. Therefore, its the duty of every applicant to declare the truth and damn the consequence. |
TeamclicksAir: I understand you are a professor of English language. Your suggestion will only waste her time and make her spend more on the fare. Agencies always have cheap fare compared to the airline . Now after spending weeks tracking the price on the websites you listed , she visits the airline website and sees the price is more expensive. What would you have her do then. If you've been following my post, you will see I always post the airlines and there current prices so members can book themselves. Why are you contradicting yourself? In one breath you claimed prices on airline websites are more expensive, hence people should use agents. In the last line you advice that people should book via airline websites? Which is which?. Mamacajah please buy your ticket from this guy, so he can leave me alone. Wetin ![]() |
Wole, how far with the result of the remaining Herpes test that you were suppose to pick up in 10 days?. I think those beefing the poster should cut him some slack, nobody is above mistake. |
bloggerina: For the people asking about airline travel restrictions for preggers, it is always advisable to travel latest by 34 weeks. That's sound medical advise o.Weldone bloggerina, you delivered a well written and informative piece. Just a little information for pregnant mamas who are bothered with the long layovers when they use Heathrow,BA or Schipol,KLM. On arrival at these airports you can check in to Yotel to sleep, bath and feel refreshed before boarding the next flight to the US. Yotel is a unique hotel idea built for long trip travelers and they charge per hour. 6 hours currently goes for 61pounds at Heathrow. You can set alarm not to oversleep or tell the front desk to wake you up at a specific time(Make una no sleep forget flight). I know we are all working on tight budgets but your comfort and that of your child should take the first priority. One love nefertitiram: This country shaaaa, 6 months! 7 months, these babies r a piece of cake for most US hospitals.I shed some tears as i read the outpour of your mind. May God continue to keep you and your husband strong. |
mamacajah: Thanks Tvegas but the stress of carrying baby on my return means i need to book a direct flight which my hubby has insisted upon. I really appreciate your love and concern. GOD bless you!You are welcome, i forgot you will be travelling back in multiples . A direct flight will be easier. |
PrinceAdeAde: @jaysmom, @TvegasHouston POE was notorious on this thread for stressing pregnant women. Some mamas who declared their pregnancy at the Embassy were delayed for up to 5 hours at the POE. But some people also passed through the POE with ease. My experience is a story for another day because the beefing started with United for making me pay like $16 for a can of Budweiser. woaini: So sorry to hear about ur loss nerf, God is in control ok, it's well with you. U are already on your way to success, for you to even post about ur loss is mighty courageous. You are so strong and such strength comes from the Lord.Seriously,Nef is a strong woman for her to be able to accept the loss. May God see you and your family through this hard time. You will have cause to celebrate soon. |
mamacajah: Thanks Tvegas, but my destination is not showing on the sites, back to the drawing board. I a mheaded for Augusta, Georgia and it seems to be a low traffic destination, hence the high price.@Mamacajah, I checked priceline for you few mins ago and found, Delta,Airfrance and KLM with quotes of around $2,300 for your trip to Augusta,GA. The alternative on priceline is to find a cheap flight to JFK and take a domestic flight to Augusta ,If you dont mind the stress of checking in your baggage twice .I found that Virgin has a $1,570 to JFK, while US airways has a $286 to Augusta from JFK. Total = $1,856. I selected October 2nd as your departure date,so the dates also matter. Take time to check this on a computer, you will see several options. Cheers |
nefertitiram: Hi All,This is really painful Ma'am, our words will be insufficient to console you. But you will be in our hearts and prayers. IyawoToBe: Lol Tvegas us vexing tonight oDon't mind me o, just don't want any travel agent to think am competing for buz. Besides it's a faceless forum, hence sometimes we should be allowed our 1 minute of xyz..... ![]() |
TeamclicksAir: you can't book an American bound flight from those website you mentioned. Except if the departure isn't Nigeria.Read the lines again , I said "track" not "book", those verbs have different meaning in the English language. Besides, There are 1.1million ways of booking tickets. Cheers. |
jaysmom: @Dinawe, I've also used Delta several times alone and I've also not had any reason to complain until I had to travel with a baby. Please don't make excuses for them except you work there. Their customer service is nothing to write home about. My people, why not making a case for Delta, i believe every airline do have their rough day. I will fly delta over United anyday. United will charge you for freebies like intra city luggage, alcohol etc that other airlines take for granted. Even as a guy, I experienced a hostile environment at the houston POE this year hence I vowed never to use that route again. My conclusion is whichever airline we fly we should always commit our trip to God and I also noticed that when it comes to airlines one man's food is another's poison. However, when an airline have a well documented bad reputation don't ignore it. zynnnie: Hi all,I share cfc sentiment, how does the bragging help the people on this thread? Even if you were wrongly banned I think you should just play your role and leave the rest to posterity to reward you. afosahid: @Tvegas thanks for your prompt response. I have read thru almost every page here and i have barely found information of obs/gyn or hospitals in Chicago for child birth services. Please if there is anyone in this thread who has this information kindly assist with it.Mr afosahid has fulfilled the rite of passage by reading from page to page, so am begging those withholding Chicago information to divulge. |
mamacajah: Not exactly, been waiting for the summer sales to drop which i was told would happen this september.. but the prices are still high at over 350k. do you have cheaper options good for preggies?Mama, you can track these things yourself without using agents. 1. Check www.priceline.com on a daily basis. The site will quote prices from all the airlines flying your route. For example phoenix flights on BA dropped by $10 within the past 2 weeks,i have been checking daily. 2. You can subscribe to www.cheaponair.com alerts. They will alert you via email when prices drop on your selected route. Few research have shown that the best time to book international flights is between 54 to 60 days before the flight. That's when airlines revalue their seats, after studying previous years volume and averages. But this rule is not cast in stone, for example holiday periods are often an exception. |
afosahid: Dear All,Kindly, get a pen and a paper and start reading from page 1 to 135, i can assure you that most of your questions have been answered. When you boldly declare that you've read till the last page, many people will volunteer additional advice. @Nefertiti Congrats the devil had a more wicked plan but God thwarted it. It's well with your babies. |
toitoi: Lol I can't stop laughing here ooooo.you can't believe ì got heaache before I found so called Singapore hospital. From Arizona to Singapore.Singapore ke? Make una take am easy o, we no fit search for pregnant mamas o, ![]() wumicipm: NB; before going to the embassy, I used anointed oil, communion, blessed water and mantle cos my hubby was the principal applicant and he cant even pronounce el paso correctly not to talk of doctorespa rati. I just prayed to God to send angels that will blind the vo officers eyes from my hubby and not to ask any unnecessarily questions and he answered my prayersCongrats @wunmi, na only you activate all these weapon? Na your burden of proof sure pass. I like your style o, na to dey blind VO eyes dey go. ![]() |
cfcchick: @ Tvegas, pls watz d name of d hospital so I can try calling dem as well. The name is Sarasota Memorial Health care system, they've got a beautiful hospital. Below is the link, you will see the maternity package as soon as you open it. Though sarasota is a small town of 53k people, The weather and enviroment is ok for birthing during the winter. http://home.smh.com/sections/services-procedures/srvc_women-child_health/Maternity%20Package%20Plan%20Agreement.pdf |
@Mrs flowers, Nita , CFCchicks and uncle Oawele. ...Make una no vex . I already envisaged something like this will happen because of the crowd trooping to MIHS. Everyone responds to the law of demand and supply, it's not peculiar to Nigerians alone. Finding good alternatives is what we should preoccupy ourselves with. Yesterday, i saw one maternity package in Sarasota, florida but the price is still around 5k epidural and everything inclusive. I called them to know if discounts can be granted but it was entering voice mail. So The search continues. |
MadameU: Hi TveGas and damsell please can u help with info on documentation that I should give my mum in law for her interview. The elderly are hardly stressed at the consulate. These few items may help though, A copy of your Visa and Passport Page, Your appointment letter, A letter of intent from you explaining your trip and ability to finance hers, your bank statement and any other document you deem necessary. The key thing is to coach her on your travel plans i.e. makes sure she understands the purpose of the trip and your destination. |
Dechica: thanks to everyone who contributed, i had my baby on the 9th at holycross hospital in maryland. pls i need info on getting baby's passport and SSN. Maryland birth certificates take about a month to be ready, what do i do? do i need my birth certificate to apply for baby.Congrats ma, can you provide the cost profile for holycross hospital and other important tips,So that others using them can learn from your experience. Cheers kuzeh: Yesso, Phema na my MENTOR! !!!!You are on the right track, she is the Lolo/Iyalode of Burden of Proofs on NL. |
kuzeh: I already got them to change my appointment date and an email has been sent effecting the change. I guess this means I don't have to fill another form. Thanks a bunch Sir. ...mwaaaah! !!!You are welcome ma. I will advise you shouldnt fret over such trivials as the first headache of a VO is to establish your home ties and your ability to fund your trip, your itinerary in the US is low in order of priority. You should spend more time building "Your burden of proofs". |
kuzeh: Hi Tvegas,You can fill a new DS160 to reflect the changes. Alternatively, Incase you got your appointment letter from Doctoresparati or any other hospital that issue such, inform them to change your appointment date in the USA and send you an email effecting the change. Print same, Attach it to your appointment letter and go the embassy with it . If this route is not possible, explain your itinerary in the USA to the VO. |
raii: Thank u sir. My hubby had submitted his earlier. Xan one fill a fresh form or prepare to explain during the interview? You and your husband can retrieve submitted forms and fill new DS160 forms as late as a day to the interview . If you submitted the first application not more than 30 days to the day you attempt to retrieve your application. By following these steps Go to the DS160 page, input your old DS160 code and retrieve submitted forms. Click on cancel old application . The old form submitted will appear, change all the necessary details and print the new confirmation page with the new code. You dont need to tamper with your appointment confirmation. Go to the embassy with the new DS160 confirmation page, the old DS160 confirmation page and the old appointment confirmation initially booked. You should be fine. |
damsell: Infact @Tvegas, that was her ooo, the same VO me and my hubby encountered. I did the same prayer that our number doesnt come up on her window but alas, it did. In the end sha, I thank God she saw our honesty and gave us. By the way, many thanks for the info u suggested telling me on what to give my mum(to show proof of our visa approvals) to use for her own interview two days after ours, she was successful.Congrat your mum was granted, Its amazing that we were interviewed by the same tough VO. Its good she is granting preggies, i wish same favor for others. |
mamajeff: Your post brought tears to my eyes Hardeymijuh and I am happy MIHS family is growing on a daily basis. You are welcome, God has used you and many other MIHS and EL Paso veterans to open doors for many. All of You will never be stranded. AMEN. Nochid: The information on this thread has gone a long way to help alot of us. There are as many people who have heard about MIHS and El paso as silent readers and many more by words of mouth without having checked into nairaland at any time. Thanks for this info, 20 babies per day is serious ish |
GenoMI: @Tvegas Ah I'm not sure if Phoenix going viral is a good thing, remember what some people said about VO's reactions to Phoenix bound peeps last week. It might also be one of the reasons MIHS is reviewing costs. What I'm saying is I really think we should start exploring other cost effective options o.Who no like affordable healthcare?. My friend was billed $25k when she had her first child in New York, so she jumped at the Phoenix offer as soon as she read it here. . I agree with you that the task of searching for good alternatives is a must for us all on this thread. |
Phema: Oawele, please remember to help us confirm that stuff from MIHS today.I thought Oawele is female, weldone sir my greetings to your wife and the LO's. Kindly help confirm the rate in MIHS. For us nothing is cast in stone and wife is loving the phoenix weather at her EDD. Her departure date is last week in Nov or 1st week in December. NB: I hope MIHS has the resources to cope with the flood of people coming for them. This thread has gone viral. I met a heavily pregnant friend yesterday, i asked her where she is headed in October and she said Phoenix . She is not even registered on NL, she is a guest who reads our comment. Special shout out to everyone who has made this thread what it is today. |
