You need to know where you belong in the bible, rather than pick any quote that lends credence to angel speaking. What do you know about the dispensation of grace and the difference between the mysteries hid in God that was revealed after the resurrection of Christ?

Abraham entertained three angels unawares, angels visited lot too...not realizing who was escorting him out of Sodom. But, the book isn't saying we will see angels when we keep our doors open by being hospitable especially to fellow believers. It isn't saying when you do that an angel from heaven will visit to say you are called.

One was the Lord Himself and the other two were angels. So he actually entertained angels unawares. And I think Lot probably did, not realizing who was escorting him out of Sodom.

shdemidemi: Visitation for what exactly? Those are man made improvisation to make them sound closer to God than they really are. If anyone says anything outside scripture claiming to have heard from a certain angel... Flee from such person. Like I said earlier, God will only speak to us through the Word today. The word is the spirit of God, its life and the light of men.

shdemidemi: You don't seem to understand the setting of the bible. The names you mentioned up there but cornelius were all Jews practicing Judaism. The programme changed swiftly when God forced Peter to eat what was naturally forbidden to the Jews. God was initiating a new dispensation of the church separate from Judaism.

It was through Paul’s preaching of the Gospel of the Grace of God, God pulls out a people for His name which the Bible calls the Body of Christ, which is the Church. It’s a whole new concept which was never known back in the Old Testament or the four gospels or even in the early Book of Acts. They had no idea that God would, without Israel, pull off of the mainstream of Gentile humanity, as well as the Jew, and would put them into one Body, which we call the Church.

The church has its doctrine and Apostle Paul was the one sent to our race to convert us to Christianity by the gospel of grace.

The key word there is "unawares". It isn't as if they were coming to call anyone to be bishop or elder.

Thought I should let you know, the book of Hebrew is a Jewish book primarily written to the Jews. Hebrews actually mean Jews. That was why I emphasised on the early churches by listing where they were located.

shdemidemi: No, we certainly know how Paul picked Timothy up and God wouldn't forget to tell us if He appeared to any of them after appearing to Paul.

As for mr Ayo babalola, we can only hear his experience, it is never a standard for our Christian walk. Experiences are unique to individuals, they are not sure, they come and go, they are not generic. But, we have a more sure Word of prophecy that is sure, cannot fail, cannot lie, forever valid.

Peter also had an experience at the mount of transfiguration, but Peter articulates to his listeners that, as great as his experience was on the mount of transfiguration, there was something more sure and steadfast for him to build his life and faith upon. It is as though Peter says, “As great as the experience on the mount of transfiguration was, it was fleeting and temporal. I have a word that is more sure and enduring than my experience on the mountaintop. This is a word that you can count on to be reliable forever!”

shdemidemi: Philemon, Titus, Timothy were not ordinary in any sense, they were real soldiers of the Word of God. Paul delegated the office of appointing elders and putting order in the churches they started.

Now, Paul was the last person Jesus physically appeared to in scriptures... He was not just a Christian, he was the mouth piece of the Holy Spirit, he was the harbinger of the gospel of grace/ gospel of God to the church.

Paul did not for once tell Timothy or anyone for that matter to wait for any fresh revelation, rather he admonished them to stick to what he had taught them, He urged them to study, study and study some more to know the different dimensions of God's will.

None of them ever came up with any form of epiphany asides what they were taught. Where did the present Christian get the idea of hearing directly from a God asides His word from?
