Someone said, that u can't served Nigeria and not be disgraced.

This is it.

I remembered something that happened in my office three years ago,abd that event shocked me brutally.

A woman who retired in my office came back hawking sweet and biscuits...honestly,I didn't sleep throughout that night.

I was dead scared.
Nigeria has no respect for retirees.

You are in Nigeria, bro. The system will swallow you up if you don't play the game. It's like Game of Thrones, you either be the one wielding the sword or be at the stake. Is it not in this country with ethnic groups with expansionist agenda and all kinds of things? I hope you heard about the number of fleeing terrorists arrested in Osun State for regrouping?

Why not share the name of these Solar companies/banks or the one you are currently using. Some people reading this thread might be interested.
You can use Access bank if you want a solar installment payment stuff. You must have heard about their Switch-To-Solar scheme. Approach them. (I think Sterling and Stanbic IBTC offer as well). Leaving those ones, Sun King offers payment plan too, monthly, etc. I don't have my old phone, I would have uploaded a screenshot. You can search it out online, especially their Nigerian base.

Majority? I doubt it. Only those who are financially buoyant can effortlessly switch to solar. Not many Nigerians can afford to shell out 1.5 million naira for a basic solar installation. It's a pipe dream to think majority of Nigerians will soon shift to solar. In this same country where the Finance Minister mentioned last year that only about 5% of Nigerians have over 500 k in their bank account account, is where you believe people will rush to solar? Where will the remaining 95% forming the "majority" see the installation money?
There is already a solar installment plan available and ongoing with some banks and solar companies. You don't have to pay it in full if you don't have the instant cash. I never thought I could switch too until fuel matter enter am. Let me just say a substantial number may as they get to know the benefits, but not majority.

It's a pity many think I knowingly bypass the meter. When the meter monitoring team stormed my apartment, alot of people came to my defense they were telling at those team that I'll never do such thing knowing fully well of my personality...
I understand bro how shits like that sometimes happen. Na rat wey dey inside house dey tell the one outside that food dey.

Just ignore the fine and be without light for now. Calm down and logically analyse your next move.

I don't know your pockets. You may want to go for solar or pay them in installments. Depending on you. This thread can help you peradventure you want to get a solar power station:

you think we are all kids here right? you did the dirty and got caught, own up and move on, pay the damn fees lick your wounds and learn from it. Meters are brand new from the box when installed. They are unboxed and you have to register them, We all go fru same damn process, so this little pry 2 story you just told do not wash. You need a new meter ,so go and pay and acquire a new one simple,
Not all, as far as I know.

I have read all on this platform. Maybe it was done behind his back or not, there are meters that when they install it for you, your units will burn faster than normal because debt dey on top am. Either from the apartment or one they spread around to cover their deficit. Know this and know peace.

Na issue of thief dey outsmart thief.

You are still in early 2000s....It does not cost up to that. In fact, certain packages are not even up to a million.
AareGaa:
Solar that will power your fridge well might cost you up to ₦2m.

The best thing is to pay the fine and stay on disco.
This will teach you a lesson to be careful next time.

vikgreen01:
This break my heart. Before I could get that meter, I went through hell. It took the official 6 good months to bring the meter to me after making payment, even collected more than the amount required for a meter.
I wouldn't want to request for a new meter as the price for a three phase meter is now 250k and I got it for 100k that year...
I hope I get a solution in repairing the meter...

Thank you for your input.
Relax, breathe and stop disturbing yourself. It's not your fault but theirs. I was once slammed a fine for a meter they took themselves to repair. When they came, no meter there, they said na illegal connection. 250k straight. Shishi I no pay.

The person in charge came himself to refix it.

Now, which options do you have?

1) Pay mugu money in installments, which does not mean they will fix the problem. Some of those meters, when they have problems, difficult to fix.

2) Like 1Alex suggested, get a power station and solar panel to use light. Do not engage them

Instead of me to pay 250k for a new meter, I will add money and buy power station and enough solar panels that can power fridge during the day. At night I use power station.
Your head dey there! Good one.

I don't know who needs to hear this but surge protectors aka TV guards are not good enough to protect your power stations (This might be obvious to senior men but I learnt today)

Mine went into an overload this morning. I was charging at 600w because our light has been poor for some days and after a while, it made the clicking sound and tried to restart the charging process, I reduced the charging speed to 450w and the same thing happened after a while and I further reduced the speed to 200w and after a while it stopped charging and flashed the overload warning

Solution: Followed the process I saw on Reddit to disconnect all cables and reset it by pressing the power button for 10-15s and then shut down for 2 hours

I did the first 2 but I only left it for like 15 minutes because I was panicking 😅

So, I took it our other apartment to try it with the voltage regulator. That's where I realised that incoming voltage was pretty low than expected. Sha, the unit worked and has been fully charged.

Lessons:
1. Use voltage regulators to properly protect the unit
2. If you must use a surge protector, disconnect the unit on any charging fluctuation
NEPA gives more of dirty power. That's why it's not clean energy. That clicking sound is what I hate. Reason I used solar panel to charge it 95% of the time. No clicking of paka paka...or fear of surge, etc.

Na rest of mind now I dey.

Oh...you were the one with the update issue. Didn't know you had to send it in. Glad it is now replaced. Lesson learnt.

So far you stick with Bluetooth connection...it should be fine. You can't be forced on Internet. It is just like a smartphone. You can choose to update or not and it doesn't stop it from working flawlessly. Out of the factory like that is often better. Enjoy.

What happened to your Ecoflow for you to make a warranty claim. What fault did it develop?
PhonesRe: I Bought This Powerbank For 1.2 Million Naira PHOTOS by twosquare(m): 3:47pm On Jan 09, 2025
What was the troubleshoot that happened with your Ecoflow? Care to share?

gsparks01:
I may be the first to file a warranty claim on an ecoflow product here. Happy to report that ecoflow have replaced the faulty unit. They were so professional in resolving it. After trying a few things remotely, they offered to replace it. The Nigerian ecoflow service center was not really helpful, almost dismissive so I spoke to customer care in charge of Africa (South Africa). These ones were sympathetic and helped me almost instantly and ultimately directed the service center in Lagos to replace. So far so good.

Leaving this here in case someone needs to file a claim too with evidence (I sent a video explaining the issue). I must say, for their awesome customer service alone, I can boldly tell people to get their products without fear.

Who knows? Some say it will be a sell-the-news event. Probably. However, based on consensus, it is said that the 2021 bull run started early February, as market kept dumping until the last week of January. So, permutating, it appears same pattern may occur. Fingers crossed.

Wait till after Friday. I call this a relief rally. Price may shoot up tomorrow, to dump on Friday when news will come in again...then uptrend next week...whatever manipulation they want to do, we are ready.

Next week is the only week between now and Trump's inauguration.
