Hydronium: Happy to hear and good for you . I'd like to hear more about the output of your Eastman solar panel after you set it up.
It's curious to hear that D2 is now close to N2M. Could be a glitch in the pricing algorithm because prices of other ecoflow devices are relatively unchanged. Maybe, or Ecoflow trying to play a fast one on customers. |

geedot: I'm new to crypto, I trade forex majorly and BtcUsd on mt5, but the spreads is a bit of disadvantage, reason why I started looking into futures trading on binance after I saw the almost zero spread on their crypto pairs.
I'm too comfortable with the mt5 platform I make use for trade execution on forex that transitioning into binance is still feeling like some hectic task for me. What's hectic there? Use trading view to analyse before entry. Crypto futures trading platforms are the most straightforward. |

oladele239: Yeah I picked the panel myself on the 26th of December as they said they couldn't deliver a single panel due to high risk of breakage or damage.
I attached a backview pic in my earlier post.
It's quite heavily, should be around 25kg or so. Two pple had to carry it. These are the parts I wanted to hear. Welcome to the experience. |

Enjoy your setup bro. May it give us efficiency in all things this new year. Has the panel been delivered? How big is it? oladele239: To think that I sold a D2 late last year only to buy D2 again same late last year is laughable.incurred about a 100k loss but we meuveeee.
I realized its not about buying a bigger power box but managing my energy consumption and applying wisdom.
My setup is taking shape. D2 was picked up at Jumia pickup station in ABC Adeniyi Jones. ( D2 is now close to 2m on Jumia , this is due to demand I guess )
15m 10awg extension cable ordered and delivered by Jumia ( bought at 61k , it came with mc4 connectors already fixed in , it was a great bargain for me because I did an extensive market survey before buying) plus cable quality is topnotch.
545 watts original Eastman solar panel from device pro , they actually had jinko but I wanted Eastman for no specific reason though.
The only thing stopping me now is the mc4 to xt60 connector , it was ordered on Temu on the 29th of December. ( 12awg)
Will keep you guys posted. I must appreciate @Twosquare for his updates which has gingered me to replicate.
Thanks to all other contributors as well. |

If anyone of them have half the capacity the US has, we would all be forced to convert to Islam or killed today. That's why certain things are not coincidental. God knows and okays who will be the next world power from eons, and won't allow some to come into it. There is a reason. |

moodyguy: Really b4 someone wud climb ur roof ...haba or where do u placae ur panels? I wonder. If it is a compound and depending on the solar panel rating, it should be safe. People just think solar panels of high wattage are easy to lift to rooftops and take out without attracting attention. Those things that are heavy like anything. |

Chubhie: If you have money solar is better. Just get solar, borehole and dogs and then declare your independence from the jungle called country. i had to go solar. I only shook my head to what beyep said. 7 months and you are running fuel? Even me with consistent light switched to solar, because they usually take the light in certain hours when i want to work. I can't be doing overnight. I can't be spending 54k every month on fuel, despite using it moderately for some hours. I had to spend the solar money once, after calculating how much I will spend yearly on fuel. Now, I use it for many hours (highest I did was 15 - 17 hours of consistent light with solar). What I can't try with petrol and I go run down. Nice suggestion. |

Redman44: Southerners have to wake up and smell the coffee. Most of the agriculture inputs are taken to the North. I don't know what the southern governors are doing concerning fighting for Agricultural inputs to be shared to Farmers in the south in large numbers. Most of the crops planted in the North can also grow in the South. Even sobo leaves, ginger, onions etc. I have seen guinea corn growing on roadsides in semi rural areas of Lagos State e.g Agbowa, Imota etc. Give it a trial and develop on gradually. That is why all these development commissions in the south should spend more on agriculture. As for state governors, those ones are irredeemable or should i say are focusing on things that are not priority. Between now and 2030, what all governors should focus on like a mad man is food security, not airports here and there. And the North corner some of these funds, and when the funds come here, na portfolio farmers i hear say go corner am too. Not that it doesn't happen in Middle Belt or core North, but at least, I believe an effective amount reaches them. Look at Niger State governor with what he is doing with farming and all that. Except Oyebanji of Ekiti, I am still yet to see governors who are serious now, maybe Sanwo Olu with some recent agricultural projects sha. But I think Oyo should take the lead but they are falling hand. Agriculture is enough to pull Nigeria out. Imagine South-South being the stronghold for fisheries, rice farming too, and all kinds of sea foods in commercial quantities....etc. But then...sad. |

Hydronium: Oh I see. I get around 240 around here. With the rains also come cloudy days and thunderstorms, lol. I guess we'll see by then. Happy holidays! Yes, but rainy season's sky allows for normal penetrative rays...if you look at the sky now, compared to the rainy season or even February when heat comes, there will be a difference in clarity. Till then. |

Hydronium: @twosquare How's your pv panel holding up? Still getting good input I believe Sure...before I left. I have travelled for the holidays...I think these days 250 - 270 before I left. When I check the panel on the roof, burnt leave sediments and dust. If you check some of my posts, I quoted someone with the same fears, but come rain in February, he got good input close to the rated wattage. So, we have to wait for the clear sky, not dusty haze covering the sun. |

easyyoke: Thanks so much guys, we had our first rain of the year yesterday night… This morning I went to check the panel yeild, I was getting as high as 450W which is more than 80% of the rated wattage of the 550w Jinko panel. This was even as early as 10.30am. So your theories about the weather was very correct! Thank you guys. I was initially worried maybe it is was my wiring, maybe Foauni don dey sell fake Jinko, maybe it was my charge controller, so many maybes😂😂, I did not know it was dust in the sky that was cheating my panels of correct sun rays😅. Okay, I think I am able to pick this now...mine is 320W max in this harmattan (555w Jinko panel) |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by twosquare(m): 7:28pm On Dec 22, 2024 |
mctfopt: See what I'll suggest, this recommendation is coming on the heels of what I've experienced these past two years. I noticed the cheapo solar panels (Africell, Sunfit, Sunshine et al) may be cheap to get. But it comes at a cost some users may experience and not see. I noticed that after two or three years, some of the busbars (those silver coloured lines) that link the individual solar panels starts to burn. You may not see this as panels are probably on the roof, but you will notice the reduced production.
So in summary, instead of buying 1000w of Africell PV, you are better off buying 550w of Jinko, Original Canadian solar (had to put original as the fake are a dime a dozen), JA Solar, Yingli, etc.
In RE world, you usually get WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Pay for premium to avoid premium tears. Word of the elders. |

easyyoke: My Jinko panel is clean. It is brand new. So no dust on it yet. Just 3days old and I have been taking the reading over the course of three days. Good shinning sunlight. Yet the max I am getting is 270w out of the Jinko 550W I know this is an old post but how did it do after the harmattan, I meant your Jinko 550W panel? How much were you able to get after the harmattan season. You did not leave an update on the thread. |

oladele239: Great feedbacks bro , highly encouraging for the rest of us looking forward to DIY.... If we're to consider an 80% then 400 or slightly above 400 won't be bad. Good one today though being the first day , it can only get better probably by the time you tweak positions you'd realise best positions in the long run.
I am getting back a D2 , replicating same set up. I shouldn't have sold my first D2. I will have just been running major appliances during peak sun periods.
Lessons learnt , no regrets!
Average load I consume during the day is slightly above 300 watts max. The sun should be able to cater for that while I conserve my back up for night which I may just need 100 watts or slightly above for let's say 8 hours.
Placing the order tomorrow regardless of price! Yea. Just ensure the battery is full or near full by the time the whole load is on so that even if the load exceeds what is coming in, only a little percent will go per hour. It will minus it from the panel output and take a little from the battery. I don't use up to 300 anyway. Today, I had to ON two standing fans, the freezer, all the led lights in the house, TV, router, laptop, and phone charging, just to put it to the test. So, it is okay for the use...my best use for it now will be in the rainy season when PHCN go take light coz of poles falling, etc. |
