The underlying problem is sociocultural and not religious. And majority of northerners have been calling out the the FG and state governments to help end the practice, but they nothing significant is yet to happen. But the nauseating begging is the one done in most southern states. From the police there, security men, cleaners, agberos etc.

Student loan now, and university financial autonomy will soon follow. Tuition fee will spike and the loans will be become more difficult to get. It's no news that majority of graduates struggle to get jobs five years or more after graduation. Thus, repayments are expected to be slow.

How would someone be at peace when he spends what does not belong to him? As a muslim, I know I have to account for each kobo I earn and how I spent it, before the Almighty on the Day of recompense. So, I try as much as possible avoid people's money.
In another vein, the CBN should make it easier to return such monies. I remember a case where I received about 100k erroneously. I had to go the banking halls several times to make the refund, and we all know the stress of physical banks.

It seems LASTMA is even ahead of FRSC in terms of adoption of technology for traffic regulation. By the way, it still amazes me how there is no centralized regulator for road transport which accounts for 99% of our transport sector. There is a need for a regulator who would ensure that policies are followed across the entire road value chain. In construction, are the traffic standards been followed are appropriate road furniture deployed? Where trailer tanks are fabricated, do they adhere to the standard by ASME? Are motor parks properly located? Are the drivers vetted regularly and their vehicles checked?
I think the FG needs to upgrade the FRSC mandate to cover these and more.
