Tinubu is just using style to allow his wife hijack the glory of completing the national library project. TETFUND sometimes last year told the public that they've set aside 35billion to finish the project. Only for us to later hear that the first lady is calling for contributions.

Mankinde is a senseless governor. An Oluwole engineer who doesn't have a clue about road construction.

Who do you give cost per kilo on a road which transverses different terrain? But Rufai and Makinde are senseless....
So you mean Shell employed an Oluwole engineer to work several years with them? Makinde is way ahead of Umahi in work experience
PoliticsRe: Umahi Fires Back At Makinde Over Lagos-calabar Highway Cos by U09ce: 7:21pm On Oct 11, 2025
Umahi is still dancing around. As uncertain as the quantities of petroleum underground are, subsurface professionals provide estimates each with its corresponding probability of recovery. But here we are with a common road project that's resistant to average cost per kilometer. Lol. Makinde himself is said to have a company where he has executed several projects so he's not to be underrated by 'professor' Umahi.

By the way I guess why he'd refused to reveal the cost is because it'd be indefensible. The cost appears to be far beyond the 4 billion per km that was been purported when the project started.

Up till now, the Dangote Refinery has not told Nigerians the 'sabotage' 800 Nigerians did. If people want to commit such a criminal act, why would they need up to 800 people? These guys are just been victimized and unfortunately even the custodians of the Nigerian laws have shoved them aside.

I believe ASUU wants to drag the FG to the negotiating table and I support their cause though I don't want it to cause a hiatus in the system. For God's sake why should a 2009 agreement still be unfulfilled more than fifteen years later? Tertiary education workers are suffering financially. They aren't even receiving the new minimum wage adjustments yet. The selfish elite are trying to pauperise tertiary education just like they did to basic education.

CultureRe: Oba Of Lagos Bans Igbo Appropriation Of Yoruba Culture Event by U09ce:
This Igbo vs Yoruba rivalry sha. I hope it won't cause issues in 2027. Igbos should acknowledge that they are not indigenous to Lagos and they should respect the institutions there. The Yoruba should know that Lagos doesn't belong wholly to them. People from all over the country and beyond have labored to make Lagos what it is. The city enjoyed the privilege of being the federal capital for many decades, without which its development would have been far below its current state. Igbos have invested trillions in Lagos economy so they should be appreciated, while they themselves acknowledge the positive atmosphere their hosts enabled to make their investments viable. Shikenan

CaptainFM1:
The unions killed 4 government refineries. Yet they are collecting salaries and emoluments and union dues for years on refineries that has gulped almost 20billion dollars in turn around maintenance.

You must understand that it is our money, the collective wealth of every Nigerians that these people have wasted over the years.

Now, when you work with a company esp. a company that has several departments or various subsidiaries or group of companies, they have the right to transfer you to any department or location in the interest of the business.
Your base logic is flawed sir. Unions are workers not employers. If unions killed refineries, we're they same persons who killed the power sector? What of our schools and hospitals? As a worker you make do with what you have because you're not part of the decision makers.

Only in Nigeria have I heard that joining unions is tagged sabotage and causing punitive measures. If the engineers were truly sabotaging the refinery, it wouldn't have reached its fruition.

TravelRe: Five Die As Dangote Truck Crashes Into Tricycle In Ogun by U09ce: 3:12pm On Oct 04, 2025
The problem we have is not as simplistic. Road transport is not regulated and the sanctions are quite not proportional to the crimes motorists commit. If for example, an accident was found to be due to the driver's negligence, he can be banned from driving for say 3 years. The pedestrians aren't also innocent. They misbehave along the road. You'd people crossing the road even majestically. You'd see a motorcycle in the middle of the road who refuses to make way for a vehicle even after horns. Our terrible roads also contribute to it because employers do not want to hear that there trucks spent so many days on the road, the drivers try to hurry up whenever they have the opportunity.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Never Negotiated For Boko Haram – Garba Shehu Replies Jonathan by U09ce: 6:39am On Oct 04, 2025
What we know is that Buhari's biggest achievement was decimation of Boko Haram. His support for the Nigerian military was unprecedented. Some people just like spinning conspiracy theories. As it stands today, BH which was leading the global terror list is about Nigeria's number 3 threat below banditry and IPOB.
PoliticsRe: FG Extends Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway To Edo by U09ce: 5:51pm On Oct 03, 2025
This road project would end up a south west coastal road, with some kilometers of roads in different states that might eventually not connect each other. I think the biggest victims are the south south people. They should go and beg Tinubu that he use the money meant for the coastal road to build the coastal railway. The proposed railway is more realistic because it's quite inland connecting the big cities of the region. Any one who knows how the creeks of Delta,Bayelsa and Rivers look like would tell you how mightily difficult it is to build a road there. The Lagos coast is nothing compared to that terrain.
Christianity EtcRe: Christians facing persecution in Nigeria, 7000 killed in 2025 - Canadian MP (vid by U09ce: 12:44pm On Oct 03, 2025
This is the new propaganda propagated by those who want the world to shift their focus from the genocide happening in Gaza.

First of all, there's no 7k christians killed in 2025. There's no data to back that. The truth is that both muslims and christians are been killed. IPOBs who are christians are killing their kindred and those outside same way bandits are killing.

It's left to us, christians and Muslims, to fight this propaganda before it causes a conflagration. Let's deal with our issues without involving external interests.
CareerRe: Why Dangote Sacked Refinery Staff - FIJ by U09ce: 8:59pm On Oct 02, 2025
Many Nigerians jump and criticize things without hearing opposing opinions. Workers are been maltreated and you're asking them to resign and go elsewhere. Abi you're sure it won't repeat itself? Young's Modulus teaches us that materials have elastic limits, yield points and break points. Same can be applied to human emotions. After a series of emotional abuse and eventual recovery, there comes a point where people are not able swallow what they receive, they got to vomit.
EducationRe: Governor Makinde Raised LAUTECH Security Guards’ Pay From ₦18,800 To ₦80,000 by U09ce: 2:09pm On Oct 02, 2025
You see ehn. We underestimate the level of labor abuse in this country. There are perhaps hundreds of thousands like this bold man suffering in silence, under the guise of outsourcing and contract jobs. As I write this, there are thousands of local government workers who are yet to be paid minimum wages. What about the wickedness against pensioners where there entitlements are withheld by governors for several years and they only get to be paid a pittance because the amount has been devalued.

And what Magic has NUBIFIE - Union in Banking Sector Played, since Decades Now?
Is it by Calling Strikes and they are now cajoled, then settled themselves with Management through Traveling -abroad,while the Workers are left to their fate,in Nigeria?
Or Why defending the Union,if you are not part of them?
I doubt if the contract workers are covered under the union. They should have a union too or be allowed to join that of the permanent staff. B
CareerRe: 43 In Every 100 Nigerian Bank Workers Are Contract Staff by U09ce: 10:39am On Oct 02, 2025
That's because the labor laws are weak either on paper or implementation. Employers look out for lacunae within the laws and exploit workers. And that's why unions are needed to balance the power and fight for workers rights. But unfortunately, the public don't really understand. So far as the suffering never reach pesin side, him no send

Both cities are not ready for a light railway. How do you about building light railway when you don't even have an effective bus transport system. This is merely political. They better channel the money to the road infrastructure than for this to turn to a white elephant project

CareerRe: Dangote Refinery Sacks Nigerian Employees For Joining PENGASSAN by U09ce: 2:13pm On Sep 26, 2025
We have a problem of selfishness. If you were in the shoes of these workers, would you maintain your stance that they shouldn't fight for their rights?
We're used to anyhowness that we forget that there are labor laws emplaced to protect workers from exploitation. Just because someone employs you doesn't mean he should trample on workers' rights. Dangote Refinery workers are suffering quietly and are leaving in droves. These are people drawn from the nooks and crannies of the country. Industrial unions will help the to fight for their rights. Workers of Shell, NLNG, Seplat etc are unionized. Why would Dangote be different?
CareerRe: 7 Careers Nigerian Women Dominate That Were Once Male-only by U09ce: 10:18pm On Sep 25, 2025
Teaching should top the list. Once upon a time, most teachers were male because the job was enough to make a good living. But these days, you'd find more females than males especially in public schools. As our tertiary institutions are joining the infamous of poor worker welfare, the trend is poised to continue.

NOETHNICITY:
So your opposition to the construction of the road is that, because it will require complex engineering work the government shouldn’t even bother to undertake it.

Very smart take. Good one
I see sarcasm there, but I don't bother. I'd still respond to you. If Nigeria had a stash of $100 billion in sovereign wealth, why would I criticise if such a road is conceived. If they like it can be fully underwater. But here we are today, the road from Lagos through the East West road is terrible, why start a new one? The south south needs the completion and perhaps an upgrade of the EW road than a new coastal road that would take till eternity to complete. The completion won't cost more than $2billion. This is all about prioritisation.
TravelRe: Lekki Traffic: Lagosians Criticise Government For Not Opening The Coastal Road by U09ce: 7:07am On Sep 24, 2025
Tupacx:
The East-West road in the Eastern part of Nigeria has been there for ages without completion, does that stop them from calling it "East-West road"
The 2nd Niger bridge was conceived for over 30yrs.
What about the Lagos -badagry road some parts were completed yrs ago before it got to the badagry end.
That's the catch. If the EW that is at least 70km inland has taken this long, how long would a coastal road through ultra difficult terrains take. If you know how the coastal terrains of Bayelsa and Rivers look like, you'd understand the situation better.
