xtivin:The road is not yet in Ondo. But a section of it has been started in Ondo. Two different things. Please consider your choice of words, too |
True, the coastal road is strategic for Lagos. I criticise because of the way BAT went about it. Firstly, I feel it's deceptive to call it 'Lagos-Calabar coastal road' when the chance of the road connecting the two cities is very slim even in the next decade. There little wonder why we're yet to aggressive works at the Calabar end. Secondly, the contracting procedure was terribly flawed to favor cronies of the president. Is Hitech competent? Yes. But follow the right steps to avoid setting bad precedents. Thirdly, critical elements of projects like the Environment Impact Assessment and right of way acquisition were not completed before the job began. |
What an evil people! Even Britain who were forced your creation have realised their insincerity. What's happening in Gaza today is the peak of double standard. You forcefully annex their lands and then you don't want them to have their country? What nonsense is that! We now see that the liberty that the US govt claims to uphold is a false facade. They are the only major country that currently supports Israel actively. |
Let them push for their rights. A lot of players in the private sector don't care about their workers. The only thing our ministry of labor and productivity does is jumping from one meeting to another to prevent strikes. But they're never proactive in following up the working conditions of employees. Is there safe working space? Are workers paid fairly? Are their health catered for?etc. The exploitation in some African and Asian owned companies is out of this world and somehow it doesn't find its way to our media space. |
They have crippled primary and secondary schools. Now they have moved to tertiary institutions. Just ten years ago, many top students aspired to be lecturers but that yearning is no more in the current students. University workers have been deliberately pauperised. The politicians prefer to open new universities in their villages every other market day than to focus on existing ones. |
I doubt this centralized system will make the process faster majorly because of our terrible logistics. Let's wait and see sha |
Great work helping the communities. Continue firing |
Abeg somebody should educate me. Isn't it a better option to use the coast to transport products to places like PH, Calabar and Warri? |
simonlee:I was talking about the core civil servants in MDAs. The situation in state's tertiary institutions is terrible. That means a Level 8 secondary school teacher now earns more than a poly lecturer. |
Let me tell you the tricks they play. Technically, Primary school teachers are under the employ of the LGs. So when they were implementing the minimum wage they left them out and only activated the new wage for core state govt workers. Meanwhile same governor is cornering all the LG allocations to the centre. Also, the only workers who got a significant raise in their pay where those earning less than 70k before the new wage. As for those earning more, most got an increment of less than 5k. Uba Sani leadership thrives on propaganda. He over exaggerates every little thing he does. The state has really retrogressed in terms of governance. |
Quota system product. Winks |
Sonnobax15:Okpa is not a northern food. What we have is alale or moi moi as it's called in the south |
Most of the comments here are stereotypical. 'Too much seasoning' 'No meat' 'little oil' bla bla. Who set the standard for amount of seasoning, meat and oil? You have your food which you enjoy, that's good. But don't disparage that of others. There are a lot of foreign cuisines which people consider exotic but I don't savor them. That doesn't mean they aren't good |
It's utterly disgusting of Sowore to call Tinubu a criminal, since he has not been convicted. Let's learn the difference between the office of the president and the person occupying it. |
What's wrong here? Except if there are no funds provided for the exercise. Principals can engage guys in the community to cut the grass. |
Vision101:Must one work in a place before they know their work conditions, in this age of instant communication? Be reasonable pls. Dangote is heavy on using Indians in his companies which has both advantages and disadvantages. Advantage: Fairly good service at lower cost, profitability ; Disadvantage: Corruption, Poor staff welfare. This doesn't only apply to Dangote, but almost all Indian owned manufacturing entities |
If you know the conditions under which Dangote employees work, you'd support this cause. One shouldn't be working for an oil company and still be subject to inhumane treatment |
To be honest, this Yoruba vs Igbo bile is nauseating. I'm not any of either tribes, but it irks especially in instances like these. What does it benefit one to besmirch their fellow countrymen in the name of tribe? The guy is a criminal. And we know his tribe. But it doesn't matter in this context. A criminal is a criminal |
Oooh really. Let her pack out of the country as 'Gomez' doesn't sound like a name of an indigenous American Indian. America was not originally a christian nation, for the indigenous Indians were traditionalists. Many centuries after their lands were usurped, America became a country. In the past few decades, Americans subscribe more to irreligiosity than any denomination. As it stands, America is lucky to have muslims as the last bastion of sensible morality |
This is a welcome development. The people ranting against are largely those who follow innocent girls upandan to satisfy their reckless urges. |
Morbeta11:It's D that would die that's assuming that the cut sphere is dense enough to kill. Just around D, the sphere will be same position as it were with E. Thus the solid part will hit the head |
Sensational headline. '... North, frontier basins'. Are the places where exploration is ongoing in the north not part of the frontier basins? |
Good day, Please someone should help me with the process of name change for a non-British citizen born in UK and now living in Nigeria. Thank you |
Everybody just dey applaud but there are important questions to be asked. Is Lagos to Abuja 479km even if a straight road? Even if it's so how can it be done in 4 hrs? The main thing sef is about the financing from this non-descriptive entity. $5b is not chicken change that such an entity can go to the markets and source. Even a whole Nigerian governments would hustle to obtain such financing. BY the way I'm yet to fathom why this govt especially Umahi is obsessed with giant projects that are mostly not realistic looking at our financial encumbrances. Lagos - Calabar, Sokoto-Badagry, Trans Sahara etc. |
That's good. However, more details are needed to gauge whether there's progress or not. For example, showing us a 1km stretch of stone base for a project of 100km which has expended 20 percent of its duration, will show that the work is off track. I'm saying all these because I've seen some PR bots who go around snapping or videoing short stretches of road and deceiving the public |
Brace up for tariff increases especially for Band B to Band Z. The capitalists are on a spree |
Med Rivers state govt give him tax credits since no be him work |
The islamisation of Abia is here . Thanks to IsDB. Where are the bigots? Mek una force the governor to reject the loan na |
I think it has to do with colonialism and interaction with the west. Their geography is closer to the west than to the middle east. When the colonialists held sway in places likes Egypt Algeria and Libya, they did not bother about the likes of Saudi and Qatar for they had little or no resources |
If you're a consultant and within a certain age brackert(I think 35 years) you can get commissioned in the rank of Major. Just check previous DSSC vacancies for the three services and confirm the criteria. |
No be by approval, na by consistent release of funds to allow for the execution |
Unfortunately, she let her emotions take hold of her at a critical juncture in her career |

. Thanks to IsDB. Where are the bigots? Mek una force the governor to reject the loan na
