seunajia:Trowing insults at people doesn't make your point stand out in an argument. The issue of ownership of oil underground only comes up because the government in Nigeria has failed to make optimal use of the resource and that deviation started from bigotry and tribalism. In the UK, Europe and other countries not as ethnically diverse as Nigeria, such resource are in the hands of Government and trust me if they are judiciously used I'm Nigeria, nobody would talk about resource control. In a racialltly and ethnically diverse country like the US, the natural resource lies in the hands of the land owner who must give assent to exploration, you can check that out. Texas is a very good example. HIS COMPANY MINES NO OIL. THEY HOLD TITLE TO IT. HE NEVER HAD SUCH MONEY PRIOR TO PAY FOR EXPLORSTION LICENSE NEITHER THE TECHNICALITIES. THEY WELL WAS LONG EXPLORED BY CURRENT BP WHO WERE KICKED OUT AFTER THE NATIONALIZATION OF ASSETS LAW BY THE FG, AND THATS WHERE THE GROUSE STARTS FROM. someone sits down and randomly allocated an oils block to his inlaw, they also did so to their traditional ruler and friends and you as Yoruba man is justifying that but your people are in constant quarrel with the ibo's and Fulani herds men when you feel they trample on your state sovereignty. did your father's put the land or grass there? most of your grand fathers migrated to the place you call home today. your point of argument is totally weak. Nigeria bases its constitution on the american constitution but in mineral rights it turns away from that. from university of Ibadan to Lagos to OAU tell me which of them you are proud even with the fake pride that you guys are most erudite in the country. we are celebrating shame in disguise of fame. I bury my pen on you and let men tell you, the fact that you are more educated than another doesn't make you smarter or more hard working, I can tell you that I have been totally impressed with the level of educational uplift my people are undergoing and again with then little money we have gotten. Akwa ibom is a nice place to be, I don't know about yours. |
seunajia:I hope you know what to know. common sense should have told you that was a typo...sticky keys. you not half as smart. |
seunajia:Your subservient bearing sounds like you are feeding off this man, it wouldn't be surprising at all because your position and pejorative disposition are all in harmony to that. if you cared to know have you seen the title of deeds, proposal or application his company filed to the federal government in request to the acquisition of the license? NON, these were wells explore forlong and seized when the federal government fell out with British coys in the country. mind you,the process of exploring and developing a field can taken years and we were not as technologically advanced as against now. he didn't have the capacity and requisite knowledge drill a bore hole let alone an oil well. reading through his donations common sense only points that his meagre donations to the host community ( of which I haven't seen any as an indigene except the hugely falsified donation of outdated and 3rd grade equipments at THEIR valuation of $250,000) where to satisfy the CSR clause. Afren which came in as an operator and marginal field allotee have given more to host communities. his company oriental energy is a complete definition of a lazy company and it is not surprising because they were helped in on a platter of diamond with no effort at all. Seplat energy which is relatively new have a sound intellectual drive and bearance against a company operating over 20 years in the oil and gas industry, and no Mr they didn't carry out any exploration, drilling or production activity. AFREN energy resources came in to operate and carry out gas lifting on their producing wells due to decline. his company's head quarters and only office is at abuja, they are just suckers or more like priviledged middle men including Alakija of Fam-Fam who just collect ratio's/ royalties on production out out or farm out while the technicalities and runnings are shifted to oil majors. the buck literally strolls into their foreign domiciled acccount due to their closeness to people in power. your usage of the word parochial and inclination to heap insults on people doesn't do ardour to your stance as it shows a big bridge in conformation to the truth at hand. whyndont you carry out a comprehensive study/analysis on how these blocks were given out by IBB to protect his interest in power. I don't hate the north or west, I grew up in Lagos and only came to Uyo to school and I really love northerners who have been around me due to their plainness and meekness but its comments and ideologies postulated by your kinds on media forums while constantly living in denial and heresy on the plight and conditions of people who should be first hand in benefit of their resource that changes peoples thinking and reservation in issues like these. if the wells were handled by Government or at least the state of domicile, we wount have these problems bedevilling us today.. 98% of northerners don't enjoy this plummage but the 2% of their elite. IT IS GREED AND CORRUPTION. IT IS INSULTING TO US AS NIGERIAN'S And NIGER DELTAN'S Always stand for what is right and what should be. |
seunajia:I hope you known what to know. |
Since, In Nigeria people should ignore their state of affairs due to years of corrupt politicians chopping their money for personal satisfaction and instead, decide how a private citizen should spend his money. You call it his money because he is from the north. He RECEIVED an oil block without any technical or financial capacity on a platter of Gold through nepotism, now it is his money and where the oil is domiciled it is not their oil.[b]Since, In Nigeria people should ignore their state of affairs due to years of corrupt politicians chopping their money for personal satisfaction and instead, decide how a private citizen should spend his money. seunajia:ALL YOUR POST SHOW'S ABOUT YOU IS THAT YOU'RE "IGNORANT" get knowledge, it would help you. |
murtalaa:for over 30 years the oil and gas related activities has been handled by outside tribes cutting the indigenous regions out. Nigeria was beclouded in intellectual darkness as till now even NNPC can not boast of a single oil well developed by them. They have been a monumental failure, no patent or technology to recover either gas or oil from deposits yet the tribes who were/have been short changing the region claim to be erudite and churning out professors with no tangible benefit to the intellectual development of the Nation. their education is only a protectionist one for surpressing regions.... from 2003 when the Niger delta agitation started and indigenes began becoming involved in Oil and gas related activities intellectual and technical discipline began trickling in to the average Nigerian. the oil and gas industry became open and mind you it was most open during Jonathan's regime; that was why the details of happenings were open in the industry. that is why you all can come out and call him corrupt because he made the industry open for all eyes to see. Not a lie at all, we all now have an understanding of what goes on in the industry as regards to our nation but it was never so during previous governments aback from Jonathan. so you a mallam telling someone from a more open region technically, educationally, socially and institutionally is just a case of a blind man trying to lead a man who can see with not just an eye but an eye and a half. be objective in your thinking and statements. you no hustle pass Niger -delta man I thought you were a Yoruba guy who posted it but to my surprise you are from an educationally disadvantaged region. Oga go and find your feeting. |
murtalaa:did your father put the weather you use to grow crops in your land? did your father bring the religion you use peoples blood to defend? you people chasing ibo people doing business in your region and claiming they want to control and take over your lands did your father put the land there? when cocoa was a main resource and even up till now. I am sure no outsider from the western region has headed the cocoa resources board, same with the groundnut industry. This indimi's son is telling a blatant lie. oriental energy does not give any scholarship to indigenes. we have not seen any. the only company that came in to do things was AFREN who were operating their oil block and also had a field of theirs. suffice to say it took these guys no level of ingenuity to have oil blocks license but nepotism by IBB. the field was already explored and proven, the block was just allocated. this kind of deal kills development of skills in the country because what these local guys who arenassigned the blocks do is to negotiate with international oil companies on sharing ratio who then come in and operate. |
Seeeeeeee:I am 09 set uniuyo petroleum engineering. the dept building was built by PTDF. the donations were made in partnership with AFREN of which AFREN was the Major donor. I think you are just being subservient. the man has done virtually nothing with regards the free money way he milks from akwa ibom |
rose54321:well spelt. most of our Ladies or should I say girls who always call out for maturity are usually those with a messed up past or life and who have so much to hide, they use that as a ploy that a man should not be concerned with a woman's past lifestyle and everything about their past is wiped off but they would always want to poke into his. NEVER LIVE YOUR LIFE AS A MAN ONA WOMAN'S DEFINED STANDARD. THEY WOULDNT WANT SUCH FOR THEIR BROTHER'S AND SON. THATS WHY YOU SEE THAT A WOMANS BIGGEST ENEMY IS ALWAYS HER FELLOW WOMAN. THEY KNOW THEIR THOUGHTS BETTER. |
diva90:A WOMAN "MATURES" ??CAN YOU DEFINE MARURITY PLEASE ? EVERY WOMAN CALLS MATURITY BUT I FIND OUT MOST DONT KNOW WHAT MATURITY IS.WOMEN ARE FAR BELOW MEN IN MENTAL MATURITY AND REASONING AND ITS A KNOWN FACT EVERY WHERE. EXCEPT YOU ARE REFERING TO PHYSICAL MATURITY. |
Menzy86:sorry |
Menzy86:This lie you stated above is noe being accepted by almost everyone in the country. The biggest economies are major oil producers except for Germany, the difference is that they don't export, our major problem is utility of crude oil. Nigeria roughly produces 2 million barrels of crude . China and USA doubles that. |
Holywizard:did you run a culture test? urine or blood. you should have been tested first before treatment. DONT SELF MEDICATE. IF IT IS STAPH AND NOT HANDLED CAREFULLY IT CAN LEAD TO A STUBBORN RESISTANT ONE. RUN A TEST FIRST!!!! |
am not against the anti-corruption agenda but from common sense, the looted money was distributed to the 36 states in Nigeria. let us hear how kano, kaduna , borno, katsina e.t.c were shared. |
oglalasioux:am enjoying light in uyo currently. from 12pm to 6am the light is sure to be brought. and during the day we can have up to 8hrs or more( not at a stretch) depending. |
quickly:USA and CHINA produces oil far more than Nigeria but they don't export, they consume theirs. we are handicapped in consumption. |
quickly:You are far from the truth. Germany has oil and gas, but they need more oil to meet their needs. same with Us, Texas is the world capital for oil and gas activities, followed by Aberdeen in UK. they all have oil and the technologies and patents for exploring, drilling and production is developed by them. Us does not export its oil but is a major decider in OPEC..why?? The exploration and production of crude oil has severe adverse effects to the environment and they have so many laws and enlightened fellows who would always oppose the move for it so they prefer focussing in Africa and third world countries where their biding can be easily done with minimal repercussion to them. the us is facing stiff opposition to their hydraulic fracture mechanism by environmentalist. it is a highly degrading activity. Take a look at the gulf oil spill in the us and how quick BP were sanctioned amd made to pay for clean up and compensation but how many years has it taken to clean up and compensate the ogoni people ?we are pencils in the hands of the white through mental slavery. Always verify before you postulate. |
jpphilips:in my local government we have over 70 oil wells that were drilled over 30 years ago, I wasn't even born then but they are still corked till now. why? some are marginal for the company: the formations may be complex and spending on them may not be viable in the long run. there are so many engineering and economical decisions to take over this. the same applies to the whole of Niger delta. there are so many corked wells for decades. the Lagos field is not even producing what many onshore fields are producing in Niger Delta. if your rational of thinking is right then the whole local governments in Niger Delta would be producing oil, but that is far from the truth. cross river and even down to Cameroon should be producing as much as the other regions. Do you known that it is cheaper to produce oil in the Arab lands fulilled with deserts than any where around the world? do you know why that is possible and why huge amounts of oil are found there even onshore?? you can't argue my discipline with me. if you tell me your field of endeavour I may not be able to grabble with you but the fact that I am a novice at yours doesn't make me stupid or mean I should resort to sneering on you to make a point. |
jpphilips:Oga oooo. I didn't bother to check your profile and as these is a faceless forum I wouldn't like to start throwing jabs or insult at people. From my post on this thread you can see that I didn't tow the line of dissidents against the prospectus of Lagos or SW having oil. I guess you are a SW by Gods grace I am from Akwa ibom and I am just through with my BEng in petroleum Engineering preparing for service. The thread had taken an unexpected detour from the initial ideal behind the post and from my look at issues on this post, some engineers/scientists were trying to shed light on some grey areas but because of the bigotry and ethnic hate that has greeted the thread every post of enlightenment is now taken as an insult or affront. I can't use a page to school/enlighten you on the technicalities of a source rock, igneous rock, sedimentary rock/basin and formations. I have never done an appraisal of Lagos fields so I can't say if Lagos or ekiti have oil bearing recoverable and viable formations but I was trying to correct erroneous beliefs on the technicalities of crude deposits. please don't always resort to insult when dealing with people. I understand that it is becoming the status quo to win an argument here. I know you are not relevant intellectually to my field and posts by engineer/scientists whether SS or SW are all having a homogeneous conformity. what you think you know on this is far bigger than you. and my words are not jargons |
jpphilips:its not about the coast but the sedimentary basins and formations deposited along the coast. |
jollymizzle:sorry I don't mean to be rude....where did you get this knowledge from? are you a petroleum engineer or environmentalist? oil spill which occurs offshore is worse than onshore, you have to factor in that almost 10× what is produced onshore can be gotten offshore. the risk both human and capital is high for offshore. just imagine you dealing with a problem on the high sea as against an inland swamp. please be sure of what you post here so you don't pass the wrong information to people. the top worst oil spills witnessed on earth are offshore. DO YOU REMEMBER "GULF OF MEXICO" SPILL BP AND US GOVERNMENT.Again offshore spill is not easily detected through first hand information initially and most times the oil coys try to hide the information from weak governments like in Africa..am sure of Mobil in Akwa-ibom. Making it easy for them to maneuver around. offshore spills are very expensive to deal with. |
owagbeba:In a country where people and the society don't pay attention to research am not surprised at your direction of thinking and countenance. most threads like these usually end up in fraud and from my deduction going through this thread, people are asking question because they either have business they run or they understand how border trade works. its a nice initiative by the OP but the story sounds too swift. the OP has his phone number on his profile, do you know how many people have contacted him and what has transpired behind? it is your duty to guard youtlrself and your finances through accurate thinking. if you are as smart as you think you are, you would see that the questions directed to the OP where technical and from people who have deep knowledge about transactions. I have tried dealing on Gold before from India to Brussels to soulk in Dubai. my dear there is no such free walk into established businesses. |
prettyjo:please what's the difference and usage of the two words? |
before you think of buying this data please view this thread. https://www.nairaland.com/3102205/nairalanders-pls-beware-scammer am not trying to get on the OP but security should be on everyone's watchout |
also note I saw someone trying to sell airtime for less the value of it. I think he was offering 2000 for 1500 it is only logical that people trying to Sell such muct have gotten the airtime through illegal means and are trying to sell it off for convertion to cash. |
yomexp:Oga please do confirm. Agbami oil field is no where located around Lagos shores. it is in bayelsa state..... look at the map you added. that is not Lagos. |
bigcil2:10,000 per annum ? |
Charpell:The smartest thing to do is to find out the real reason why the product is scarce before mobilising cash and logistics for the business. don't base your analysis on these posts by mostly random individuals without direct contact/information to the subject. some people are saying its disease , some boko-haram, others buhari, dollars e.t.c don't just jump into business without first hand empirical information. when the price of the product drops, you may not be able to match with the notherns farmers who may have techniques inherited from generations past. Consultants may sell you business plans that sounds lucrative but the workability may be zero. |
KashyBaby:yeah the Nigerian weather is very hot but not in parallel across zones. I was in Lagos two weeks back and the high temperature from morning till evening was in total contrast to what we have here in akwa ibom. It gets very cold from 4:30pm down here and I am forced to close my windows late in the evening here. we most times experience fog clouds which come very low in the morning and evening blurring your vision. it rains cat and dog here that you'ld have to keep your clothes for a week before it drys during the raining season. |
nobody is hating on him.some people are being cautious and diligent in thinking. he may be real , he may not be. there is no case for uncertainty in personality when huge sums of money is involved. there is no insurance to cover you here in the case of an eventuality and when your money is gone, it is 6ft under. Nothing and nobody to do a thing about that. MOST Real businessmen won't tell you how they make their money unless the boom is over let alone telling millions of people on a site called nairaland where your business can be under threat under a couple of minutes with hungry entrepreneurs ready to prowl. Those who are investigative are not stupid. There is nothing like easy money in business let alone agriculture... you think farmers are not ready to make extra profit or the Hausa farmers don't have link to farmers in Cameroon. people are just curious not stupid. |
Snowangel4:you mean 25k per month or year?? |
