Just watching question time on BBC one. The question asked was on Obama in scathing attack on BP chief. Someone in the audience reminded Obama of the oil spill caused by American companies in Niger Delta Nigeria. The coordinator obviously didn't want to go into that discussion so he said the focus is on Gulf oil spill.

Top 10 reasons a gun is favored over a woman

#10. You can trade an old 44 for a new 22.
# 9. You can keep one gun at home and have another for when you're on the road.
# 8. If you admire a friend's gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times.
# 7. Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keep another gun for a backup.
# 6. Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo.
# 5. A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space.
# 4. Guns function normally every day of the month.
# 3. A gun doesn't ask , 'Do these new grips make me look fat?'
# 2. A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it.
And the number one reason a gun is favored over a woman,
# 1. YOU CAN BUY A SILENCER FOR A GUN

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Ranked 2nd Poorest Nation in the World by uchchu: 10:17pm On Aug 27, 2009
I do not believe that Nigeria is the 2nd poorest nation in the world. It is just a fallacy. What data was used to measure that. Most times they use Nigeria's income from oil ad gas. The fact is that lest than 3% of Nigerians depend on oil for survival. The 3% include federal and state civil servants and the 3 arms of government.

By all standards, Nigerians that live and work in Nigeria are better than Nigerians that like abroad eg in the UK.

Christianity EtcTell God You Love Him By Listening To Him by uchchu(op): 9:58am On Jun 04, 2009
"I am the Good Shepherd; I know My own sheep, and they know Me . . . They will listen to My voice" (John 10:14, 16 .

One way to worship God is to listen to Him.

Listening is one of the greatest gifts you can give to somebody. When you listen to someone, you're saying, "You matter to me."I value what you have to say. I value your opinion. You're important to me." When you don't listen to somebody, you are basically saying, "You don't matter to me. You're not important to me. I don't value what you have to say."

The same is true with God. Every time you listen to God, you're saying, "God, you matter to me. I value what you have to say." Listening is the most misunderstood and overlooked part of prayer. Most of us think that prayer is just talking to God. That's only fifty percent of prayer. The other fifty percent of prayer is getting quiet and letting God speak to us.

Usually we're in too much of a hurry to do this. What we do is say, "Hi, God, it's me. I've got ten things I need from You. Thank you. Over and out. Goodbye." We don't wait and listen. We don't say, "God, do You have a few things to say to me?"

Did you know that the Bible says hearing God's voice is a test of whether you're a true believer—whether you're in God's family—whether you're headed for heaven or not? In John 10, Jesus essentially says, "I am the Good Shepherd; I know My own sheep, they know Me, and they listen to My voice."

How often do you pause to listen to God each day? Do you pause and say, "God, is there anything You want to say about this?" When you're trying to make a decision, or you're getting ready to go to an event, or you're about to talk to somebody about something important, do you pause and say, "God, is there anything You want to say about this?"

Evaluate yourself on that. God wants you to hear Him, and by listening, you worship Him.

Whitelexi, thank your God that the picture you posted on that trend or on stella's profile was not seen. If that picture was someelse's picture, that could land you in big trouble. You are in the UK oh and not in Nigeria where anything goes. I also believe you would not want you old mother in the village to suffer because she depends on you. Besides you can't be too sure that a case was not made against you sometime ago and that you are being monitored. I advise be more creative and not waste your time creating trends under another profile. A word is enough for the wise!

PoliticsNo Going Back On N52,200 Minimum Wage –nlc by uchchu(op): 6:32pm On Mar 30, 2009
[/quote]Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has vowed not go back on its demand for N52,200 new minimum wage, insisting that government must pay a living wage to workers. Speaking at the at the quadrennial delegates conference of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria in Benin at the weekend, the acting President of the NLC, Peter Adeyemi said Labour would not accept the global financial crisis, which government was using as an excuse.

According to him, government had the money to pay the new minimum wage, adding that it must be forced to pay it.
He said the demand for a new minimum wage of N52, 200 and general upward review of salaries was quite important for the Nigerian workers, lamenting that government had been foo-dragging on the matter.

“We pray that government will see the urgency in it. The country cannot be rebranded unless poverty, hunger, disease and squalor of workers and the general populace are radically addressed through provision of a living wage and better standard of living. To us and most serious governments the world over, development should be people-centred and not skewed in favour of profiteering and moneybags. We are more determined than ever to carry out the struggle for a new minimum wage and against deregulation to its logical conclusion through the forthcoming national mass protests. Nigerians say no to deregulation and slave wages.”

According to the labour boss, since the dawn of democracy in 1999,while political office holders had succeeded in reviewing their salaries by 800 percent, Nigeria workers had only received a paltry 15 percent boost in their salaries.
He said that senators were having a crisis over how to share over N70 billion constituency allowances, while government was telling Nigerian workers that they should forget the salary review because of global financial crisis.
Adeyemi argued that since government had money to pay political office holders, who, according to him were doing nothing, it must have money to pay those who were creating the wealth on which the political office holders were feeding fat.

His words. ” We cannot accept government intention to use the global financial crisis as a cover up. Since it has enough money to pay political office holders and also to embark on other jamborees, it must have money to pay Nigerian workers who are creating the wealth of the nation.”
On the Maritime workers, he said that maritime industry was a very strategic industry both in terms of economy, collective development and in the area of national security.
The nation’s ports, he noted were gold mine hence the strenuous efforts of the rich, powerful and greedy to milk it continuously to the detriment of the Nigerian people, adding that was what promoted concessioning of the ports.

Some of the dignitaries who attended the delegates conference include the Deputy Governor of Edo State who represented Governor Adams Oshiomhole, representative of the Minister of Transport, representatives the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority, and The Registrar of Trade Union
Comrade Tony Nted was elected the new Maritime Workers President General. He succeeded Onikolease Irabor.

BusinessRe: Nigerians Win International Open Forex Trade Competition! by uchchu: 11:22pm On Mar 28, 2009
Your gist is true. I started live trading two weeks ago. Got to know about the competition from Mark McRae" -support@tradeology.com because I subscribe to his daily email on FOREX trading.
emmaco24:
Unstable power supply and slow internet connections hamper progress, and young Nigerians taking on the world in all ramifications of business, are still at the mercy of the Federal Government and the greedy poor service providers given licenses by the Government in this regard. Many traders host their trade platforms on foreign host platforms like ezforexhost and have to pay foreign hosting companies dollars for this, simply because of this lack of basic infrastructure.
My dear unstable power supply and slow internet connections is really bad news when it comes to FOREX trading. I had that problem when I was in Nigeria. Though I was not trading live then. The two Nigerian guys that were among winners are not full time forex traders. They have jobs. It is amazing that some Nigerians in UK do not trade forex or practice with a demo despite the uninterrupted power and fast internet available to then. Had a friend in London that is an IT consultant. He spends his evening and weekends playing games or chatting instead of doing creative things like forex trading yet he complains of bills, bills, bills. I really wept for him then.
RomanceRe: Breaking Up With Someone You Love by uchchu: 9:19pm On Mar 28, 2009
ThoniaSlim:
Sometimes in order for us to grow we have to let go of the things we love. especially if we know those things don't contribute to our lives in a positive way.

I had to break up with someone i loved because i didn't see a future with him and he wasn't contributing to my life in any meaningful way. Its not that i wanted to do it, but that was just the best thing to do in order to grow. . .and am i better off now. . .am glad i did it.
Sometimes what we think is love is infatuation. I had that experience. Met this guy when I was in my teens. Somehow we drifted. Met him again after 10years. We got close and I regretted meeting him again. His character is terrible: he has a bad temper, blames his shortcomings on his family, lives like a pig, leaves in one room in a nasty apartment, snores and talks about his secrets while asleep. For the short while we were together I always cried cos I wasted ten years thinking about him. He never knew why I cried.
Thank God its over because it opened my eyes to see the lovely, handsome guy that has been proposing for two yrs now. I didnt waste time to say yes after I parted with my 'so called LOVE' and the wedding is this Christmas.

BusinessRe: Aim For The Skies With AIMS Asset Management Ltd by uchchu: 6:23pm On Jun 18, 2008
AIMS is a fraudster. They don't give customers statements as and when due to let them know what was purchased. I was given a statement of my account last year, I received another one 10 months later with gross irregularities on it. The purchase price of a stock on the 1st statement I received added 60k on the second statement. The volume of the stock was above 100000 units. Just imagine the robbery.

I sold some of my stocks two months ago. I noted the least price of the stock the week it was sold. when I received my statement, the sell price on the statement was below the lowest price of the stock the week it was sold. they are crooks.

The worse is that their customers outside Lagos are the worse hit cos if they order for the sale of any stock, it would take 3-4wks for them to receive their cheques.
