Celebrities / Re: Don Jazzy Leads EndSARS Protest (Video) by Ucokezie(m): 9:40am On Oct 11, 2020
myBraine:
Why is it that of all the problems ravaging this nation, ending Sars is the people's biggest priority.

Truly, there's a hidden agenda by the youths to sabotage government from Nigerian leaders.

I can't imagine any of this youth becoming my president anytime soon. I suggest it's high time we in the Northern hemisphere take a countermeasure. We need to protest against this protest.

In America, it was kiddos that were busy developing their country. Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gate, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, Paul Allen, Larry Page and Jeff Bezos all created a city called Silicon Valley while still in college. Today, the city host the biggest tech companies in the world. What have our youths here done to warrant them the privilege to protest? Tell them to venture into lucrative ventures like agriculture and they'll call you a cave man.

It is high time the military comes in.

@Mybraine, you have that of a cow.
You better gather the other youth in the northern hemisphere and continuing rearing your brain equals — cows.
Politics / Re: Near Crash Experience: Aisha Buhari Commends Flight Crew, Thanks Nigerians by Ucokezie(m): 10:50pm On Aug 22, 2020
Since Felicia Oja's post on Aliens, I've picked interest in UFO's sightings and done personal online research.

Whatever happened to Aisha Buhari's Aircraft cannot be a coincidence but an encounter or interference with UFO's visit to this part of West Africa today.

Today's weather was very strange in Aba.
Strange colourful lightnings, colourful super bright blinking lights in the sky for about 20seconds that shocked everyone because it illuminated the whole neighborhood. This occurred at about 7pm.

You can make this shit up.

Nairaland / General / Re: What Are The Lessons 2018 Taught You? by Ucokezie(m): 10:43pm On Dec 28, 2018
I learnt a lot of things this year but the most profound are;

1) No one acts above what he or she has knowledge of.

2) Never expect something from anyone, If you are 20 and your family puts good food on the table two or three times a day, provides you with shelter and clothing, you should know you're richer than over 85 million Nigerians. So stop complaining.

3) You can do whatever you want to do if you can get knowledge and learn skills, through books, online including YouTube, meet smart people, etc and put in the required hardwork needed. If you have only one source of income, that should change this coming year, whether as a student or not.

4)I also got to know about the Grace of the Lord. I mean Grace separated from the law Most preachers wouldn't want you to know that, they prefer keeping you afraid under the law in disguise of Grace. And before you criticize denominationally, there's only one gospel given.

5) I also learnt that lending money can actually destroy friendships.

Your Call of Action this year should be just as my Boss said: skills and implementation.

Business / MTN Impunity: When Enough Is Enough by Ucokezie(m): 8:02pm On Jun 15, 2015
Imagine the thought of a scenario where you allow a fellow from some alien geography perch within your abode; offer him the best of hospitality you could afford; and yet he puts up a covert gambit to mortgage your progenies’ collective destinies - while you still live!
That proverbial imagination denotes the realism of telecoms giant MTN and its conclusion to strike a dagger into the hearts of close to ten thousand individuals.
Their crime? They are, of course, Nigerians!
This is an interestingly disturbing abnormality which is being played out in Nigeria, at the moment.
At first, many opined that the possibility of such musing is improbable - to simply summarise. But alas, the unthinkable stares us all in the face now.
The recent decision of MTN to contract its Customer Care Centres across the federation to an Indian firm named ISON BPO is an exhibition of the highest degree of disrespect to - perhaps its most generous host community the world over - Nigeria, if one considers the deleterious implications of this ill-advised and ill-conceived act.
At the centre of this unfolding brouhaha is a pan-Nigerian firm, Communication Network Support Services Limited (CNSSL). The indigenous firm which boasts of about 6, 000 staff (mainly young Nigerian graduates) has been a major manager of the Customer Care contract for MTN in the last half a decade, with a nearly perfect record.
Although MTN argues that the need to maintain competitiveness in its operations informed the disengagement of CNSSL, yet it failed to register in the public sphere in what aspect(s) the Nigerian outsourcing company was found wanting in fulfilling its contractual obligations to the South African telco.
With this development, Nigerians have embarked on revisitation of the catalogue of misdemeanours which have come to crystallise the comatose status of Nigeria/South Africa diplomatic relations, of late.
Again, the claim by MTN that ISON BPO (Indian) is preferred to CNSSL (Nigerian) due to the former's so called international experience holds little water - if any. The sermon that the Indian company will, henceforth, be trusted with MTN Call Centres across Anglophone Africa is equally punctured and rendered null and void by the exclusion of South Africa from the list. The last time I checked, English language was the lingua franca in South Africa.
This is simply ridiculous!
The incontestable market value of Nigeria will always retain her pride as Africa's leading economic hub, hence the envy of her peers (South Africa inclusive).
Therefore, any imported investor would need to contemplate more than once before romancing the dire consequences inherent in pulling the plug on Nigeria and her people.
All said and done, I'm not sure if the South Africans needed a tutorial to realise that Nigeria symbolises an unavoidable 'foe' that is far more strategic than a close ally.
To submit here, therefore, let's remain watchful and hope sanity prevails. And sanity, it seems, will be for the proponents of this callous and inhumane subterfuge to keep it firmly in the realm of thought ONLY. Nigeria has endured enough pains and agony from South Africa and its economic scavengers; thus this latest attempt to further alienate Nigerians – even in their territory - must be resisted at all cost. Now is time to act.
Here, I rest my case (for now).

Science/Technology / Robot Flies To Germany As Airlinepassenger From Los Angeles by Ucokezie(m): 2:47pm On Dec 30, 2014
A humanoid robot with a head, hands and
feet and also wearing stylish red sneakers
boarded a flight for Germany at the Los
Angeles International Airport on Monday,
making it the first robot traveling as a paid
passenger on an airline. Yahoo! News was
there:
The robot, named Athena, created
a scene at the Tom Bradley
International Terminal as she was
pushed in a wheelchair up to the
Lufthansa counter to pick up her
ticket to Frankfurt. Television
crews swarmed, camera flashes
went off and people aimed their
cell-phone cameras at her,
exclaiming: “It’s a robot!”
Built by the Salt Lake City
engineering and robotics company
Sarcos, Athena was purchased by
Germany’s Max Planck Society,
which along with researchers at
the University of Southern
California are trying to make her
perform tasks too dangerous for
humans, such as cleanup after the
nuclear disaster at Fukushima,
Japan.
“We don’t want humans to go
there and sacrifice their lives,” said
Max Planck doctoral student
Alexander Herzog, who was
pushing Athena through the
airport. “I would like to have a
robot achieve the same task, such
as opening up doors and cleaning
up.”
Right now, Athena can do little
more than sit and bask in
attention. The software to make
her legs move and stand is still in
the works, though her arms can
operate and her mouth glows blue
on a white head fitted with
cameras and sensors.
