I don't know what transpired between them to result to this but I think as men we should learn to control our temper. When a womans nagging is too much just quietly leave the house and go cool off somewhere and return when there is less heat. If the nagging and quarreling is now becoming a daily occurrence and you guys cannot stand eachother anymore then you guys should peacefully part ways and if you have kids come up with an arrangement for upkeep et al. Life is too short to be constantly unhappy |

Ivorianaija:If you say so. Please read the text below and pay particular attention to the coloured boldfaces: In an effort to explain inconsistencies in the Old Testament, there developed in Jewish literature a complex interpretive system called the midrash which attempts to reconcile biblical contradictions and bring new meaning to the scriptural text. Employing both a philological method and often an ingenious imagination, midrashic writings, which reached their height in the 2nd century CE, influenced later Christian interpretations of the Bible. Inconsistencies in the story of Genesis, especially the two separate accounts of creation, received particular attention. Later, beginning in the 13th century CE, such questions were also taken up in Jewish mystical literature known as the Kabbalah. According to midrashic literature, Adam's first wife was not Eve but a woman named Lilith, who was created in the first Genesis account. Only when Lilith rebelled and abandoned Adam did God create Eve, in the second account, as a replacement. In an important 13th century Kabbalah text, the Sefer ha-Zohar ("The Book of Splendour" written by the Spaniard Moses de Leon (c. 1240-1305), it is explained that:At the same time Jehovah created Adam, he created a woman, Lilith, who like Adam was taken from the earth. She was given to Adam as his wife. But there was a dispute between them about a matter that when it came before the judges had to be discussed behind closed doors. She spoke the unspeakable name of Jehovah and vanished. In the Alpha Betha of Ben Sira (Alphabetum Siracidis, or Sepher Ben Sira), an anonymous collection of midrashic proverbs probably compiled in the 11th century C.E., it is explained more explicitly that the conflict arose because Adam, as a way of asserting his authority over Lilith, insisted that she lie beneath him during sexual intercourse (23 A-B). Lilith, however, considering herself to be Adam's equal, refused, and after pronouncing the Ineffable Name (i.e. the magic name of God) flew off into the air. Adam, distraught and no doubt also angered by her insolent behaviour, wanted her back. On Adam's request, God sent three angels, named Senoy, Sansenoy, and Semangelof, who found her in the Red Sea. Despite the threat from the three angels that if she didn't return to Adam one hundred of her sons would die every day, she refused, claiming that she was created expressly to harm newborn infants. However, she did swear that she would not harm any infant wearing an amulet with the images and/or names of the three angels on it. At this point, the legend of Lilith as the "first Eve" merges with the earlier legend of Sumero-Babylonian origin, dating from around 3,500 BCE, of Lilith as a winged female demon who kills infants and endangers women in childbirth. In this role, she was one of several mazakim or "harmful spirits" known from incantation formulas preserved in Assyrian, Hebrew, and Canaanite inscriptions intended to protect against them. As a female demon, she is closely related to Lamashtu whose evilness included killing children, drinking the blood of men, and eating their flesh. Lamashtu also caused pregnant women to miscarry, disturbed sleep and brought nightmares. In turn, Lamashtu is like another demonized female called Lamia, a Libyan serpent goddess, whose name is probably a Greek variant of Lamashtu. Like Lamashtu, Lamia also killed children. In the guise of a beautiful woman, she also seduced young men. In the Latin Vulgate Bible, Lamia is given as the translation of the Hebrew Lilith (and in other translations it is given as "screech owl" and "night monster" .It needs to be remembered that these demonic "women" are essentially personifications of unseen forces invented to account for otherwise inexplicable events and phenomena which occur in the real world. Lilith, Lamashtu, Lamia and other female demons like them are all associated with the death of children and especially with the death of newborn infants. |
Ivorianaija:I am well read on religious doctrines. Please take this demonic stuff elsewhere. We don't need it here. Thanks. |
Ivorianaija:Please be careful what you post here. Lilith is a Demon. From Wikipedia: Lilith (/ˈlɪlɪθ/; Hebrew: לִילִית Lîlîṯ) is a figure in Jewish mythology, developed earliest in the Babylonian Talmud (3rd to 5th centuries). Lilith is often envisioned as a dangerous demon of the night, who is sexually wanton, and who steals babies in the darkness.[1] The character is generally thought to derive in part from a historically far earlier class of female demons (lilītu) in ancient Mesopotamian religion, found in cuneiform texts of Sumer, the Akkadian Empire, Assyria, and Babylonia. |
hopefulLandlord:Dashing is less commonly used to refer to women but it's not entirely wrong. Dashing: Synonyms - make a striking appearance, attractive May be I should have just said pretty or beautiful but those words feel too common to me. Thanks for pointing that out. ![]() |

Rubbiish: Yeah I get that a lot bro |
I say this as someone whose view may be lacking some understanding on the subject, so I mean no offense for my assumptions. You see the world is changing and there’s a reason to why everything is happening. I do think being gay is a mental issue, here's how I got to the conclusion: Now, while you read this try to understand what I meant because I’m not trying to offend/insult anyone - A lot of our human norms and needs evolve as we grow and one of the things that do is our sexuality. In this process of the evolving of our sexuality, things can be altered and different results will show up. In terms of sexuality, many things play a role in altering someone's sexuality. A great example would be an early access to pornographic material and the subsequent mind play it brings. This is just a simple example, another example would be the many prisoners that turn gay during their time in jail with no access to a different sex, their sexuality had to go somewhere. This is a tough one but there’s a reason why the percentage of gay people in the world is increasing everyday compared to say 20 years ago. It's not because the world population is increasing. There isn’t really a specific reason other than sexual redirection that I am aware of. But in the animal world you have aphenomenon where 1 in 10 rams are gay or 3 in 10 penguins etc. That’s a very interesting fact (I suppose). This starts the argument that being gay is a natural thing and not a misdirection of sexuality. Some animals have shown homosexual behaviours even when the different sex is around. And that's even more interesting. Is this the case? I would argue the contrary. Animals do stuff extrictly for their physical and emotional survival. How? A bear mom would leave her kids if she’s sure there's no way of running away. A chicken eats her egg if it couldn’t find any food. Female spider kills and eats male spider after mating. Etc. But why would an animal have a same-sex partner if the opposite-sex is around? I think it's more of an animal's simple instincts to do things, some animals like wolves have only one partner through their lives even if the other died. And they can be over-programmed too. A dog that used to enter a door after the owner opens the glass door. One day the glass door was open, the dog waited outside until the owner actually closed it and re-opened it in view of the dog This means that some animals are wired to do stuff in a way that don’t change. And if this programming got altered this results in weird behaviours. For example, when female spiders eat their mates, they do it because during the process of their evolution something changed in a way that forced their brains to break the rules because they couldn’t find an alternative. Therefore when the natural process of evolving gets altered weird results show up. But the above example can’t apply to humans because the evolving disruption of the natural process of sexual evolution happens in someone’s life not during the early evolution. Why? Because the number of gay people is increasing each year. This does not necessarily prove that being gay is a mental illness, although I prefer calling it sexual misdirection. From my little understanding this proves that the increase of gay people isn’t linked to a biological fact but to altering of a man/woman’s sexual nurturing process. However the existence of gay people isn’t all linked to that but part of evolution. Conclusion: There are gay people because of evolution, but being gay doesn’t mean you’re born with it, it just means your sexuality was being altered in the background. ![]() |
Rubbiish:Yes, why? |
OneSentence:The bold faced, that's just what I've been waiting to read. Good one ![]()

Henkor:There is something called Hume's Guillotine. It's also known as the naturalistic fallacy or the is-ought problem. Very simply put, just because something is the way it is, doesn't mean it ought to be that way. What is viewed as "natural" is not moral guidance. Other moral guidelines are not based on what's natural, why think this is any different? |
