God bless u,u hit d nail on d head! In my side it called ibaba(ibibio lang) my mum had it on her farm. Wat u do it crack it open then boil d whitish stuf insid wch is then pounded to thicken d soup. But try as much as u can,soup turns black d next day,lol!

In my dialect, its called ORURU.

Its very hard and takes time to cook. Its used as a soup thickener. Like achi or egusi but its a whole soup of its own.
I don't like the soup because even though it tastes sweeter the next day and can rarely get spoilt, it gets dark. So, two days after making the soup even if you put it in the fridge, its as black as sheet and not good to the eyes.

The Etsakos(smwer in Edo) state) also use it as a seasoning. Its their own form of maggi o,lol. I remeba I used to put it a lot in my soups and palm oil stew,by then I wld hav eaten half of it,loool! There was a day I ate so much,raw,frm d one I was to bring bak to lag during hols frm sch(went to auchipoly). Gosh u needed to see me dat day. D smell was oozing out of my pores sef,if I belch iru smell,fart iru smell,pee iru smell,poo iru smell. Infact I was worried d pesn dat sat next to me cld smell it on my body,lmao! I stilll use here in lag wen I want to mak efo riro occasionally or evn palm oil stew but trust me its not lik d type I see dem mak in auchi or agbede village jo,dats why am not so keen on it again

Infact I don't want to go into details but it had to get messy for me to be able to get dat money bak. I don't also evn want to talk abt d person too cos mere thot of it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Pls never grant a favor esp favors lik money lending wen u ddnt get enof info. Since sat(prior to this sef na epileptic) uptil now lite no blink. Na so I dey carry charger follow body to dey charge fones and my powerbank(wch by d way is crap too cos d port no well afta a month,lol)

ehya dats cool. I interview this guy 2004 during my IT days with Daily Sun(I still have the photocopy of the page) one thing I give to him aand 2baba evn tho I'd not met him,is their humility. Guys humble to a fault. I got to Festac dat day and dey said he jus came bak frm a show and can't attend to me so I left. U won't beliv he sent dem to call me bak. And dat interview for me was an eye opener(tho I was a novice I for ask am plenty questions jare,lol!) Evn wit his sleepy mood he answered.
