Srt 4950 series opens all Apstar 7 channels automatically. You don't have to input any pvu key with the latest software, so try it.
How about PV channels on IS 20 C-Band, can SRT 4950 open them also automatically with the new SW?

Hello brothers, pls i need your help. My brother sent me a free to air digital satellite system from Germany, so i dont know if it going to work here in Nigeria?
Hi liveth21
Please learn how to ask sensible questions. It is very difficult to give you an answer for your very, very general question.
What exactly do you mean by "free to air digital satellite system from Germany". Dish, LNB, Receiver, Cables etc.
What are the model names for the various components in your so called "free to air digital satellite system from Germany".
Why don't you post some pictures of what you have.

k24 @ yamal scan your decoders
K24 has always been on NSS 12 at 57.0° East frequency 11554 H 3300 which is near YAMAL.
You are getting it from NSS 12 and not Yamal.
In East Africa the 3 satellites (Yamal, NSS 12 & YahSat) can be tracked with one 120cm dish using 2 LNBs.

The Media Player in SRT 4922 has a small problem no matter what software you use. I have noticed that when
playing AVI files or even its own recorded files and you fast forward X2 it is fine and smooth, but try to fast forward
X4 and above and you will notice jerky movements throughout the file. Its like it is fast forwarding the file frame by
frame and not a nicely smooth fast forwarding like it is on SRT 4900 and SRT 4930. I am currently using 1.19p
software and I do not know whether the new software 1.21p has improved the performance of the player.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Where To Get Softwear For Decoder Strong/: by ugasat(m): 8:17am On Apr 07, 2013
SRT 4922 HD MY IMPRESSIONS SO FAR

This is a very good HD capable and affordable (price-wise) satellite receiver. Unfortunately it can not play back
recodings made on SRT 4900/4910 maybe because they are in TRP format. Recordings made on SRT 4930 especially
those in TS format can be recognised by SRT 4922 provided it is updated with new patch firmware 118p upwards.
With its original factory default software, it cannot see any other recordings from receivers such as SRT 4900, 4910,
4930, 4940, Clarke-Tech, Dr. HD, and TECHNOMATE. I hope future software developers will address this problem.
The incorporated Media Player is relatively easier to use and its TV interface is pleasing and fresh. There is however
one anomally I have noticed when playing AVI files. You select your AVI file and it will start playing normaly but try
to fast forward it and continue playing , then the video and its audio will be out of sync. Again I hope future
software developers will address this problem. Other features that could be improved by new software:
1- Selectable real time clock (RTC) that does not change according to channel tuned in.
2- The text from the EPG’s programme description should be saved along with the recording.

Ilish: new goodies with African Beam.
TP 12800 V 36380.....Eutelsat 4B at 4.e
This Eutelsat 4B at 4.e seems to be the old Eutelsat 25A. This is about the 5th rename for the former Hotbird 5!!

Hot Bird 5 → Eurobird 2 → Arabsat 2D → Badr 2 → Eutelsat 25A → Eutelsat 4B

This old satellite must be pretty run down these days, and I suspect any channel there will be temporary. It should
however be good for feeds. Good hunting and Happy Easter.

@ Ucheo
What model of receiver are you using? I have SRT 4930 that shows the same signs, i.e. not switching
instantaneously to another channel on another satellite in a DiSEqC system. I have changed and interchanged
cables and switches but the problem still persists. I also saw similar problems on rdi forum with owners of SRT 4930
receivers. So far I have not heard of any cure to this problem.

I think you missed the point I was trying to make sir. I was refering to the fact that on page 30 of their user manual,
they seem to have forgotten to remove the reference to WIZ-555 FTA PLUS which is unshamedly not replaced by at
least SRT 4330 while it was being written (printed). Secondly their TV interface does not even look like the normal
Strong interface we that we are used to. This one looks totally different. I would have loved to upload the manual
here for your perusal but it too big for this site to handle but I could send it to you by email if you PM me your
address. Thank you sir.

Theloveth: Turns out dis man brought str4329....i hope dis one is gud too sha? Lowdown on 4329decoder brothers
Both SRT 4329 & 4330 seem to be clones of WIZTECH WIZ-555 FTA PLUS. Although they are both Mpeg 4 and
even one of them (SRT 4330) has HDMI port, I suspect none of the two receivers is real HD. Even in their user
manual they have not hidden the fact that these receivers are actually WIZTECHS. Read page 30 of their user
manual and you will see what I mean.
@olenyi,
Good to see you back. My 3-in-1 set set up is one that is actually optimized for pan dish motorised but I decided to leave it that way even though
I'm using mesh. This is partly because it serves my purpose given the kind of peculiar situation I find myself. I discovered that apart from Thaicom 5, Intelsat 7/10 C and packsat 1R, every other C band satellite within my range is circular polarity. I can get to them easily by placing the linear C band lnb at the bottom.
For linear C band satellites they can all be reached easily and with good signal strength by placing the circular lnb at the top. Because of the obstruction I have on the west side of the house, placing the circular lnb in the middle may prevent signal from getting to it before reaching the obstruction. Again, like I complained in season 3 of the FTA thread, my dish is prone to falling on the west side and placing the circular C band lnb that way to be the first on the west means it can actually receive signal on offset position before the dish gets to that point where it starts to fall.

I hope some of this makes sense to you?

As for the positioner, you are right. It is not the regular positioner we are used to. This is a diseqc positioner and it has more features than the normal type. Once programmed correctly, you can move to any position you like by just changing the channels on your decoder. You don't have to memorize any of the satellite positions.
What is the size of your Comstar Dish? Is it 180cm or 240cm?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Where To Get Softwear For Decoder Strong/: by ugasat(m): 4:53pm On Jan 24, 2013
Ameboperoo: Why dont you load it and tell us the features yourself?
That's quite a challange you have given me!!! and I am going to do it. Please bear with me if I ask for a "handout"
(contribution) towards buying another SRT 4930 after burning mine in the process of testing this software.

I hear the other site (competitor) is about to close due to financial problems. The owner (Mr. V) has been crying to
any member willing to listen that he can no longer afford to pay the $500 pm bill for their bandwidth. His solicitation
letters sound very much like the old forgeries that used to be sent all over the world from (mostly) 9naija.

ugasat: Has anyone used the new SRT 4930 software patch 1.40p (SRT4930_ALL_140p_20121129.stb) ?
What are the improvements over the previous software versions?
My receiver has this problem of not switching instanteneously when using an 8-way Disecq switch.
How can I get this problem solved. I Have interchanged three times with other 8-way Disecq switches without

any improvement, although all the switches work very well on my SRT 4669.

SRT4930_ALL_142p_20130117.zip is the new software patch from wizkid.persiangig. Again I ask: Has anyone used

Just noticed that STRONG SRT 4930 (S/W Version: 1.25p) has a very sophisticated satellite finder with a spectrum analyzer. While in normal channel viewing, press the green button and a sat finder window will come up with instructions. Those of you who understand how it works, please educate us on the best way to use it. I landed on it by accident while watching the Tour de France on Dubai Sports HD (Yahsat 1A at 52.5°E) freq. 11823 H 27500. The "TOUR" is also available on TV 5 (French dialog) Astra 4A @ 4.8°E freq. 12605 V 29950 and Dubai Sports (Arabic dialog) Nilesat 201 freq. 11785 V 27500. Only Dubai Sports HD on Yahsat has the English dialog with sharp pictures in glorious HD. By the way a number of AD Sports HD channels on Nilesat are currently FTA showing the Wembledon tennis tournaments in London. Enjoy.

Just noticed a Ugandan TV station known as CHANNEL 44 on Intelsat 10Ku at 68.5°E. Freq. 12602 V 26657. It is a religious TV station privately owned by Rubaga Miracle Centre of Pastor Robert Kayanja. They also air local news and political debates in both English and Luganda. Very entertaining if you are from Uganda.

SRT 4900, 4910,4930, 4330, 4669 etc
MY 2012 WISH LIST FOR NEW FEATURES IN FUTURE FIRMWARE UPDATES
1- It would be nice to have a Real Time Clock (RTC) that cannot be affected or changed by the channel the receiver is tuned to. Currently you get different clock time readings depending on the channel you are watching no matter whether you set your receiver to your local time.
2- Media player capability should be introduced for SRT 4900/4910 and SRT 4669 series as it is long overdue. I believe this is a software issue rather than being a hadware issue. One of the colour buttons on the remote could be used to activate the media player. Please correct me if I am wrong on this.
3- Recording format compatibility should be maintained all across STRONG SRT receivers. For example SRT 4930 which used to record in TRP format, now records in TS format with the latest patch firmware. This new TS format, although user friendly, cannot be played on SRT 4900/4910 receivers which still record in TRP format that strangely but fortunately plays well on SRT 4930.
4- Include a preview feature on receiver recordings on SRT 4900/4910 just like it is now on SRT 4930.
5- Include a choice of skins and styles for the interface on SRT receivers. Why can't I have a Humax-like interface on my Strong receiver?
6- The text from the EPG’s programme description should be saved along with the recording. This feature is already available on CubeRevo and IPBox HD receivers as standard but is overlooked on so many PVR receivers.

I need help! My remote control to srt 4910 is not working. I believe it is the sensor in the receiver that has a problem or is it not? When I try the remote with a digital camera i can see it works. Moreover i have tested with a universal remote and it is still not responding. I remember seeing some posts here regarding the same and i request someone to point me to the right posts or some suggestions to help me.

@gddams
Sell it quickly and buy yourself SRT 4930 or SRT 4330 and you will not regret. I had a 4910 which seemed to
prefer being under repair all the time. I had to give it away to a workmate for free but it has cost him more in
repairs than if he had bought a new receiver. I recall Mr. Swordswifter also had a repair problem with his SRT
4910. You have to remember that SRT 4900/4910 were Strong's pioneer HD receivers. These were their first HD
receivers and although they were very good in the beginning, new technology has since overtaken them and
no amount of software updates can bring them at par with the newer models coming out everyday.

SRT 4930 v. SRT 4910 SOFTWARES
After updating to S/W Version: 1.17p (Oct 17 2011) my SRT 4930 now records in TS format instead of the original TRP format. The problem is that recordings done on SRT 4930 can no longer be played on SRT 4910 (SW 2.46p Sep 22 2011) which still records in TRP format. On the other hand SRT 4910 recordings in TRP format can be easily played back on SRT 4930 without any problem. Now when you record with SRT 4930 you get 6 files viz: TS, PRV, IDX, DVD Info, & MS Office Access Add-in (2 files). SRT 4910 (SW 2.46p Sep 22 2011) still records in TRP format with 3 files viz: TRP, IDX, & DVD Info. Is there any new software update for SRT 4910 that updates its recording capability to TS format?

Bro 109p still remains the best.I have used 115p for a week now but nothiog good to talk about.Am just waiting for another version so as I upgrade.

@Ilish
@Pidzo
Kindly please elaborate more. What are the advantages of 109p over the original 100p or 108p? Yesterday I downloaded 108p software from Strong Technologies site with which I proceeded to load in my SRT 4930 via the USB port. With a prayer and a heavy heartbeat I watched as the receiver went thru the updating procedure which lasted less than five minutes. But it felt as if it was taking a very long time due to my nervousness and anxiety on the success of the updating. I am happy to report that everything went fine and now the receiver is working smoothly with all the original functions restored. Of course I do not have the key edit functions which I suspect might be in the 109p software patch. Also missing is the AAC sound that was available in 112p software which I had updated to previously from the original 100p software.
