LordAdam: The entitlement mentality of females enrages me. The fact that it is pervasive and subtly encouraged by unsuspecting men is just brutal.
Precisely what did Mackenzie do for Jeff that he couldn't pay someone to do? Raising the kids, taking care of the home, working as a research assistant at D E Shaw, balance the books at Amazon in the formative months, provide emotional support, provide business advice?
Now in what world, is all of that worth $65b, since they're making it sound like she did him a favor.
Left to me divorce settlements would be capped at $100m and annual upkeep of $1m; regardless of gender. Unless the spouse was heavily involved in the day to day operations like is the case in mom and pop shops.
You don't tell me you majored in English, have NO high-level skill and you helped built a $700b company because you balanced the books for the first couple of months and somehow you're entitled to $65b. Precisely what did you do, let's put an economic value on it?

Some of the replies I get each time is, it’s either they don’t have enough money or the difficulties they experience in getting a visa to travel abroad. Antigua and Barbuda = Electronic Entry Visa Bangladesh = Visa on arrival = 30 days Barbados = Visa not required = 6 months Benin = Visa not required = 90 days Burkina Faso = Visa not required Cambodia = Visa on arrival= 30 days Cameroon = Visa not required = 90 days Cape Verde = Visa not required Chad = Visa not required = 3 months Comoros = Visa on arrival Côte d’Ivoire = Visa not required Djibouti = Visa on arrival Dominica = Visa not required Fiji = Visa not required = 4 months Gabon = eVisa= Electronic visa Gambia = Visa not required Ghana = Visa not required Guinea = Visa not required Guinea-Bissau =Visa not required Iran = Visa on arrival = 30 days Kenya= eVisa= 3months Lesotho = eVisa Liberia =Visa not required Madagascar =Visa on arrival = 90 days Maldives = Visa on arrival = 30 days Mali = Visa not required Mauritania = Visa on arrival Mauritius =Visa on arrival Micronesia = Visa not required Mozambique =Visa on arrival = 30 Days Nicaragua = Visa on arrival = 30 days Niger = Visa not required Palau = Visa on arrival= 30 days Rwanda = Visa on arrival =30 days Saint Kitts and Nevis =Visa not required = 3 months Samoa = Entry Permit on arrival = 60 days São Tomé and Príncipe = eVisa Senegal = Visa not required = 90 days Seychelles = Visitor’s Permit on arrival = 3 months Sierra Leone = Visa not required Tanzania = Visa on arrival Timor-Leste = Visa on arrival= 30 days Togo = Visa not required Vanuatu = Visa not required = 30 days Zambia = eVisa Zimbabwe = eVisa

LordAdam: I don't think it's a question of being "unable to manage the temptation of unprecedented financial success that bequeathed their marriage."
Bezos was a very driven man, so he'd have been successful at whatever he set his mind on. Maybe not a billionaire, but millionaire easy. I think their divorce announcement text was lucid. Their marriage was a phase of their lives that was just that--a phase. They're at the end of it and they're heading off in new directions while remaining friends.
What informs this summation on my part is how they got together. As a high-level hedge fund staff, Bezos was already at the top of the bachelor totem pole. However, in his words, he was romantically undesirable. He wasn't the kind of guy, even with the financial stability, who ladies wanted to be with after an half-hour of discussion.
He had to resort to asking friends to set him up and at a time became a self-professed "professional dater." Couldn't hold down a relationship. This was a problem because he desperately wanted to settle down. It was at this time that he hired Mackenzie. And surprise surprise--according to the account I read--Mackenzie was the one who asked him out shortly after she started working for him. They dated for all of 3 months, engaged and married soon after. This was 1993.
As such if you understand behavioral psychology, it is inevitable that there would come a time after a subject has gone from romantically undesirable finance geek to hung $130b richest-man-in-the-world mogul who just wants to have the sexual liberty he supposedly missed out on. It explains why he was fawning about a lady who by any objective standards is less attractive than Mackenzie.
It's sad he had to cheat on her, but when you're richer than certain countries, built a company whose rumors can tank the stocks of other companies, funded a rocket company with play money and have access to ICBM technology owned by less than a dozen countries; it's understandable to develop a god complex that makes you think societal rules are exclusively for the proles.
This is similar to 19-23 year olds who marry early then in their 30s and 40s begin to have a mid-life crises about why the f*ck they wasted their prime years raising a family and what's next for them. And at some point find their way to AshleyMadison.
Maybe they'd get together later and to be sure ladies like Mackenzie and Melinda are the kind of women one could hope for as a billionaire, but even if Jeff had only become a millionaire, it is unlikely this marriage was a till-death-do-us-part Disney fairytale. I'm happy for Mackenzie especially, and hope the next phase of their lives will be as eventful as their recent phase was.
-Lord this Lord sef misogyny don enter your blood well well. |

PetroDollax: Is that all you have to offer to buttress all the talk about our president and Vice President visiting Dangote and all the stuff you spoke about? Hahahahaha you Nigerians never cease to amaze me. You know why? The event you posted happened in Accra and I was one of the delegates. It happened at a hotel in Accra called Kempinski. I was there so I will tell you what happened. Vice President Bawumiah represented President Akufo-Addo at the event.
The journalist, whose report you sent to me, was not even there. At occasion like that people say things, and it depends on what you want to hear. I don’t have to quote the media when it comes to Ghana, because we are the owners of the land and know everything that happens in Ghana.
Let me tell you something. Ghana doesn’t need anything from Nigeria. President Akufo Addo, goes to Abuja mostly for Ecowas meetings etc. Nigeria has nothing to offer a Ghana. 91 million Nigerians are desperately poor and the number is growing. 65% of Nigerians are unemployed. Life expectancy in Nigeria is a shocking 45 years. What can a country like that offer Ghana?
Do you have evidence of our leaders “cutting deals” in Nigeria? Fuckeduppedness . And if indeed Nigeria has a lot to offer countries like Ghana, why is nigeria not working to alleviate poverty in Nigeria? I get like 50 calls daily from Nigerians desperate to come and live in Ghana? If things are moving well in Nigeria, why are Nigerians desperate to run away? punch is Nigeria's biggest newspaper And when they came, we knew and it was on the news here. Nigeria needs all the refined oil from Dangote refinery. None of your four refineries are working. At least Ghana has a refinery that still works. Ghana doesn’t suffer fuel shortages. We have enough refined fuel. We don’t need Dangote refinery to provide refined fuel to users in Ghana.
There are even plans to build a second refinery in Ghana. https://punchng.com/ghana-others-to-import-fuel-from-dangotes-refinery/like I said your politicians don't tell you guys a lot He,comes to NIGERIA from time to time, and Nana is in Nigeria at least once every two months they are cutting deals with the govt and business men in Nigeria Nigeria has much more to offer than you think |

The trade between the two countries is very negligible, mainly because Nigeria is putting stumbling blocks on regional and bilateral trade. With or without Nigeria, Ghana is currently doing very well
The only thing Ghana imports from Nigeria is natural gas. I was therefore very delighted when Vice President Dr. Bawumiah announced earlier this week that by July or so Ghaba will not need to import natural gas anymore. We have enough gas in Ghana for our domestic use. You see how Nigeria has suddenly become irrelevant?
With most countries in Africa discovering oil and gas, Nigeria has become an irrelevant, sick and impoverished country the same vice president that keeos visiting Dangote and goibg to his site? Your president has also been there he seems to be pan African Once that refinery kicks off You guys will be buying more refined petrol from NIGERIA But I'm sure your politicians don't discuss that much back in Ghana |

It just takes an act of the Nigerian federal government invalidating all Ghanaian certificates from working in Nigeria, and the vast majority of Nigerians there will diminish significantly, along with the revenue.
That is just one way among many, Nigeria can use as reciprocity. A lot of Nigerians are committing heinous crimes in Ghana I go there and stay there so I know Robberies, Rape, Fraud, Kidnap etc Kasoa is now no go area at certain Times of the day.
