You think if Buhari really desire to remove a senate president, he wil not?
The President of nigeria is about one of the most powerful in the world, he can actually remove any political office holder if he truly want, regardless of the brouhaha that may follow such.
We are all living witnesses to the way obj was removing senate presidents and governors at will.
I repeat, Buhari is too gentle for the type of politics we play in Nigeria, this is the only reasons party like PDP can still have a fighting chance at the Presidency at this time The only way to sack a Senate president are as follows : 1) Force him to resign via blackmail 2) Get 2/3 of the house to sack him 3) Make him lose his seat by the tribunal. Out of these three options, which one did you really think Buhari had? Obj was able to sack Senate presidents in the house because the house was almost ALL PDP getting 2/3 is very easy (plus adding egunje of course) The APC are not so many in the house so how will that have happened? |

queenfav: Lol.. Nigerian men!Well, the issue of sharing properties cannot come in except the wife claims that as a relief in her Answer to the petition for dissolution of marriage. Come on, settlement of property and maintenance is an ancillary relief which your friend owes his wife if we want to be just here. . He is the one filing for divorce, she has given him 20 years of her life. She may even throw in how she supported him (even if it's not financial support ). He can't leave her now with an uncertain financial future, after she spent two decades building his. . If she claims for settlement of properties in the marriage, the judge usually would look at the circumstances of the case and facts supplied to reach a decision on what to give her. Judges have a wide discretionary power to settle matrimonial properties as it deems just to do so. God help the man if the case is heard by a divorced female judge. Lol..
. My free legal advice (that i should have charged 10k for) is as follows - The man should set up a meeting with his estranged wife and her lawyer in a legal setting where the issues can be discussed. That's proper procedure. If she doesn't want to see him, he can get his lawyer to write a letter requesting her attendance at the meeting.
The essence of meeting with her and maybe her lawyer is to discuss what she would be claiming. Would she be asking for maintenance or settlement fee of 500k monthly? Would she be asking for a house? That way an agreement can be reached before the divorce proceedings commences in court. . I have handled a divorce where the women only asked that the children's upkeep to be taken care of and a payment pattern was agreed upon. They told me they don't need the man's money, hence wd didn't claim for maintenance. The court won't give her what she didn't ask for, so your friend has to know what she would be claiming and prepare his case bearing that in mind. . In the end, the judge has a discretion to award reliefs sought by parties in a divorce proceeding, according to the facts and circumstances of the case at hand. .If she specifically asks that she shares in the matrimonial properties, and the facts and circumstances of the case makes it justifiable that she does deserves a share, the court will order that. . The court can order settlement of properties owned by them jointly or individually, it all boils down to what would be just and equitable for the children of the marriage and parties involved. Let him prepare his mind in that direction. Who owns what or what anyone brought into the marriage doesn't really matter because of the judge's discretion. . . The court can order settlement ie share any property belonging to any of the parties. The court usually considers the financial standing of the parties, their responsibilities going forward and the general facts/circumstances of the case. . Marriage is a partnership. Even when business partnerships end, nobody leaves empty handed except the ones that specifically didn't ask for anything and would not want anything to be given to them. It all boils down to what transpired between the man and his wife , the financial standing of both parties, children of the marriage and most importantly, the reliefs they seek from the court in the petition, cross petition or answer. you have spoken well |

Okay dear.
Well.. let's get on
A man did registry marriage (statutory) with his wife about 20years ago. Now the man is about to file for divorce.
What I want to ask is; I hope they won't share properties?
The man is the owner of the house they're living in.. he owns almost all the properties in the house.
He has two cars and the woman also have her own car.
So in the case of a divorce, I hope the woman will leave with only her car and other stuffs she acquired during the marriage and things she brought into marriage? This is just pure cheating and WICKEDNESS After 20 years of marriage, 20 years!!!!!!! He wants to keep all the "properties" and send her away with just...... The prevalent mentality in Nigeria is VERY POISONINGS AND REPUGNANT And that is why the men and women reason the way they do (always wanting to go one up against each other) Damn |

franchasng: My family was indirectly involved back then so I speak as an insider it was real.
The cause of disagreement between Ote$ and Dangote then was business niche trespassing.
I think they had an informal agreement not to trespass into each others core business niche; Ote$ was Oil/gas & banking while Dangote was cement, FMCG and never to trespass into oil and gas but Dangote cunningly used his wealth to sponsor his relative to become a major competitor in oil and gas; Rahamania Oil.
Its a long story anyway.
Dangote owe Nigeria a lot. He was so lucky; every Federal Government favoured him except Abacha government. Left for Buhari, he won't want to favor Dangote but he got no option now cos Dangote has grown so big he can't do without him.
FOREX waivers by FG to Dangote and some policies that made him sole distributor of certain nationwide used products contributed in making Dangote who he is today I won't agree with you on some of those things you wrote tho Dangote does not owe Nigeria a lot Not every govt favoured him And he was NEVER the sole distributor of cement. BUA has always been in the picture. I, as well as my family own substantial shares in DangCem tho (not too much, but it's good enough) so I know what I'm saying |

Otedola was almost going bankrupt before Goodluck became Acting President; soteh he ran away to Ghana due to debts and threats from business rivals like Dangote and Dangote brother that owns Rahamania Oil. They tried to kill Otedola, they got him stranded on an elevator at VI, he escaped, and ran to Ghana but immediately Goodluck came in, he brought him back and showered him with contracts and made peace between him and Dangote, ever since then they had been great friends.
Igbos are peace makers, the most peaceful tribe in Nigeria followed by Yoruba So that story of stranded elevator and trying to poison otedola was actually true? Back then I used to dismiss it as a rumour |

franchasng: I didn't see your comment before I commented, you just said the truth.
Let me share a story that happened some years back while we were still growing up.
There was this very fine chick; around 19/20 in my street then, many well to do guys with amazing future and great family background were toasting this girl, I heard she is so prideful and snub guys a lot.
I learnt one cool guy whose dad is one of the richest in the estate then who was also studying medicine abroad came back and saw this girl and fell madly in love at first sight cos the girl as I can remember back then was too fine and hot bra.
I heard this prideful girl snubbed this guy so many times saying who is he, that she doesn't care about who he is. They said this guy tried repeatedly and even begged the girls best friend to help him talk to her but she bleeped this great guy up, and guess what
One guy serving a man living in same compound with girl caught this girl red handed being strafed by one useless, jobless, no-future-ambition guy that just came to spend holiday with his uncle.
You need to see this guy they caught this girl with. Guess what again, the guy that caught them said he tried to maintain not until that same big guy approached him, asking him if he knows how he could get that girls no, a day after that, the guy again caught this same girl being strafed by same NFL guy in their compound, he said out of anger he confronted the girl that don't u have sense That why are u girls so stupid!
Said the girl shunned him and even warned him to stop puttimg mouth in her matter, the guy said the thing pain am, he went and reported the girl to her dad and they beat her blue black
So chicks and their useless mentality at times can keep u wondering what goes on in their brain, reason I am so scared of giving birth to female children in future because they know how to fall their parents hand and go after the most useless guys even when great guys are coming their way A lot of girls re fickle minded At a certain stage of their life, they are looking for "thrills" and "fun" These which they think a regular guy who is probably nerdy or not much into reckless life CANNOT offer them That is why they are shunned for the "roughians" because of the "thrill" By the time they realise their folly, it's often too late The good guys are hitched and the "rough" boys have no long term plans for them. I have seen this play itself over and over again over the decades of my existence on earth |

nextstep: Ladies of nowadays, would they be willing to stand by a man on the beginning days of his hustle? In 2005 they would just laugh at him because he's hustling on the street. 2009 they will be complaining that he has only small shop. When he insists to put profit back in his business, they would call him stingy, that he should spend on their hair or get them iPhone. It's only now after 13 years of hard work that the profits are coming in, they will now say: "what a successful guy", yet they would not stand by him through the hard times. SMH
And our young boys of nowadays are no different: most will not see that he worked hard and consistently for 13 years, enduring all the hardships and setbacks that accompany all businesses. They will now either want to steal from him, or try to use ritual to be like him.
This is very inspiring, and encourages me to continue my line of business, because it will get better the more I work on it.
I agree... I was thinking the same thing.

budaatum: A man has died hours after he was found unresponsive in an underpass opposite the Houses of Parliament.
The man, who was named as Gyula Remes, 43, was found by British Transport Police at 23.30 GMT on Tuesday outside Westminster Underground Station.
Officers administered first aid and he was taken to a central London hospital but he died in the early hours.
Communities Secretary James Brokenshire said he would be asking Westminster City Council to investigate his death.
The Metropolitan Police said it was not treating the death as suspicious.
Dawn, who used to sleep opposite the man, said she thought his death was related to the drug Spice and that he had choked on his own vomit.
"He was the most gorgeous gentleman you would like to meet," she said, adding: "It's killing me this, I can't cope with this, I really can't. I keep expecting him to walk around here."
She said he had just found a job and was expecting to be off the streets soon.
Sara, 38, from Essex, has slept in the underpass for the past month.
"That poor man has lost his life and everyone else comes out the exit and they're just walking by as if nothing's happened.
"He was blue last night and everyone was just walking past him like he didn't matter."
Shadow housing minister, Melanie Onn, said the area where the man was found has becoming increasingly popular with homeless people.
Ms Onn said: "Just last week I saw police resuscitating someone in the same spot.
"It's a go to area because it's dry and warmer than outside, but it's wholly inappropriate to stay there. There's not even any wash facilities."
Mr Brokenshire said he was committed to ensuring independent reviews into the deaths of rough sleepers were conducted, so that support could be targeted in the right way.
In February a homeless man was found dead in an underpass that leads from the station to the Palace of Westminster. And your point is ?? Nigeria is globally known as the headquarters of EXTREME POVERTY And an elder in the committee of $hithole countries |
