Education › Re: Why Is Critical Thinking And Common Sense Elusive To Most 'Educated' Nigerians? by Ugosample(m): 9:09pm On Mar 18, 2017 |
Iolo: The problem with Nigerians and Africans I believe isn't the ability or inability to reason critically or make use of logic but that we are to EGOTISTIC to allow for such.
You go into many arguments here on Nairaland knowing you have a strong point from the logical point of view but the average Nigerian would never admit wrong doing in his line of reasoning.
Dis is our major problem - EGO, Emotions. Take away the "I am Right and You are Wrong attitutde" from us and we'd have a better country.
Case study, how many times do you see Nigerians apologizing for wrongdopng. We hardly say "sorry" except when we are under threat. People drive recklessly and abuse u for correcting them, they make mistakes @ work and hate you for highlighting their mistakes.
Nigerians just NEVER admit wrong doing. It's not a tribal thing. You got strong points there |
Education › Re: Can A Third Class Apply For Ican. by Ugosample(m): 9:05pm On Mar 18, 2017 |
sexy74: @OP all you need is determination. Take me as an example I started ICAN when I finished secondary school and I was a science student that never did account or it's related subjects before. In my class we had graduates and as at that time I have never been in the four walls of the university. when we went for the exams I passed all five papers then in the foundation level. What saw me through was determination to succeed after waiting for university admission for almost four years. Another thing you have to do is to look for a good tuition center go for lectures and success will be yours that I know. Are you currently chartered? |

TundeHashim: many people here are just saying thrash.."shey 3rd class no be result"; "what's the fatebof 2:2 graduates?" etc..to me, this is absolute nonsense? it is a general rule of life that the best should qualify for a thing. perhaps many of u don't know the pains and agony one goes through before securing a 2:1..do u know how many night classes, afternoon classes, tutorials etc one attended before grabbing a 2:1 and one non-entity who spent his university days sleeping, drinking and f*ckn now gets a job b4 u..naturally it's painful and annoying and the OP is right venting his anger and frustration on the Nigerian system And you think those who had a 2.2 did not do all these? I did not finish with 2.2 tho, but this logic na rubbish, !because those who finished with 2.2 also worked hard (some of them) and some finished with 3.38-3.45. That is not a bad cgpa in the real sense of it. And they are not nonentities too. |

Princewell2012: But those countries you mentioned are now united and also speaks one language. Were they still killing each others now? Yea The civil war and the world war is over. They speak a major language quite alright, but it's not the multiple languages that is Nigeria's headache Nigeria's headache has been the leaders who deemed it fit to divide the people and sow seed of discord, and the result is what you see, and Nigerians fell for it unfortunately. Nigeria is not the only multiethnic country, but her wahala is too much |
Business › Re: How The World's Currencies Got Their Names by Ugosample(m): 11:12am On Mar 18, 2017 |
weedtheweeds: Nigeria needs to change the country's name from Nigeria to Benueria. The blood spilled on the River Niger during the Biafra/Nigeria civil war keeps holding the country back. The name has to be changed for this country to move forward. All corners of the world the name Nigeria strikes fear in the hearts of people. The name is a stigma to us and posterity. To me, i would advise every state to become a country. Lagos is bigger than Togo, Plateau is bigger than many countries in land mass. change our currency and change our country's name. The name is tarnished already. We are stigmatized and profiled everywhere because of our country. Is Nigeria the only country that spilt blood (which btw bloodshed was two ways) Germany under Hitler spilt more blood than Nigeria ever did in the civil war yet they are Europe most developed economy United States lost more people than Nigeria during it's own civil war, yet they are the most developed country on earth . Did they change their name? Did they change their currency? The answer is obvious. |

fav444: My brother, I feel ur pain. But remember that we are not one and may not be in the nearest future. We all are in one way or the other divided along political, tribal, social status and class, religious, cultural and regional lines.
To my fellow citizens, If you are a son of just an average man or worst still a poor man and u are busy preaching, believing or fighting over "one Nigeria", My dear wake up cos you are only dreaming.
One Nigeria is only being practised among politicians and rich class irrespective of their tribes, religion or geopolitical zone. They share their juicy jobs and appointments among themselves but some very poor people will be here fighting each other over them. So one Nigeria is not practiced by the others? Does splitting the country all of a sudden make people stop nepotism Apart from that talk about Nigeria, you have a good point. Nepotism will not be solved by splitting the country, becauae nepotism is practiced up to state level, and sometimes even local govt @OP sorry about that, that is life. Just keep trying and keep pushing |
