caprini1: At seme, firstly you need to be very careful as construction work is on going at the border so both coming in and out is on the same lane,a lot of hoodlums disguising as officials abound...... you pay 200 naira in Nigeria side and 500 in Benin.at hilakondji. its still 300cfa each on both Benin and Togo side. I can just use a bike guy I used the last time right? Bike guys when well tipped direct people well... Or that was my experience |

caprini1: I feel your pain bro.....especially when you are been harrased to pay and you see French speaking ECOWAS citizens just brandishing that their yellow laminated national ID cards ,and walk thru majestically. But Nigerian immigration also deals ruthlessly with these Francophones too. I still remember what those immigration guys did to the Beninoise and Niger people. I cringe when I think of it |

Someone has to be brave enough to expose the thieves But when the government officials are benefiting from it...... You expect them to act? These borders here are even nice, when you get to Elubo )Border between Ghana and CIV) Nigerian passports are opened with 10000CFA we pay the highest. The border between Ghana and Burkina is another one Anyways lemme not start talking much before painful memories start coming into my head. |

caprini1: old passports-Seme 500 naira, new passports- almost 3000 naira,....hila kondji, old passports - 600 CFA,new passports 2000 naira.....Aflao Togo side, old passports about 4000cfa,new passport about 5000cfa...AFLAO Ghana side. old passport,10 CEDI's,new passport about 30 CEDI's(varies). Thank you very much. When I used my passport to cross last year, they called it virgin passport even with the airport stamps and visa in it. I protested and it was of no use. So I paid 3200 at two ends of the border plus health whatever (those guys that check immunisation cards) and passport control. It was crazy. So pls, is N500 and 600CFA for both sides of the border and Seme and Hillakondji? |

Do you have an idea on current prices at the border? Thanks |

Marlbron: What kind of stupid news from yellow journalist is this? Is it by force to devalue the naira? Even as it is the naira has been devalued from 150 to 199. What has happened? What has devaluation done for Nigeria other than to increase inflation? Once you devalue, fuel cost and everything goes up!
We have a two tier forex system. That system has limited inflation so far. It will be worse if we devalue further.
The only thing I oppose is allowing Dangote to buy forex for his refinery and factories abroad at government rates. Large investments like refinery should be net forex inflows not drains on our pockets. Why should Nigeria cough out scarce forex for one man to build his factories in different parts of Africa? Are we all working for Dangote? I appreciate your point; and I understand you.. But you have to understand that this two tiered system does not work very well And as for Dangote, I agree 100% with your submission |

emi14: The oil in Niger Delta is for one Nigeria but the new exploration in Lagos is for Lagos alone. People have started hate and tribal issues because crude oil is found in Lagos. Good for development. I don't really believe that conscience still exists. Am not Deltan, but how do you actually want them to feel, are they fools? Let's stop these feud. Nigeria is one sovereign state and every crude is for one Nigeria. By law; the oil pumped from Lagos is going straight to Abuja for sharing, and they would get 13% derivation from it. Na one Nigeria we be, let us share the money |

Oga, I grew up in Lagos, and was born in Lagos too, so don't tell that trash. Maybe you are not Igbo, and I made a wrong assumption of your tribe, but the truth must be told. People cheat not because of their tribe, but by their choice. Why do black men always ascribe behaviours to tribe ? |

not all of them though but MAJORITY of them cheat...i dont know why. And you think they cheat because they are Yoruba? I'm an Igbo guy, and I dare say that from what I have seen, Judging by your logic, Igbo marriages are not any better. The moment you realise that cheating is due to personal choice, not because of tribe, the better |

WeNigerDelta: To those saying the militants are further degrading our environment...Over 10,000 oil spills has happened in the Niger Delta, how many was cause by militants? And those profiting from it have they bothered to clean up jack? To those asking what our governors have done with 13%, we know they are thieves and don't hide it. What have y'all done with our 87% you share to yourselves...We have been to places like Texas and seen what have been done with less than what we have. To those saying the regular Niger Deltan don't support this. The attacks have taken place so far in Warri Southwest, have you heard anything from the Olu of Warri or Pere of Gbaramatu? Have you been to our villages and creeks to even see the rot of the place that has fed y'all for decades now. You ingrates....As long as your brothers get cushy offshore jobs and are flown in with choppers you could care less... To those saying they should shut oil production down and find other means of revenue...Please God in heaven should make that happen, that's our prayers. We will wait for our allocation and give y'all 13% since you think that's good enough... We have fed the nation for long enough, give us full resource control. It is our God given right... But you know in addition to 13% the SS still gets revenue from the remaining 87%.; making the Niger Delta the region that collects the highest allocation in the country. Just letting you know. |

oduastates: yep. Just to show how useless the country is. People do not pay taxes. Most do not pay utility bills Nigeria does not make anything significant for export even though, she has everything to make it happen ( kaduna state has only 540, 000 people paying for electricity in spite of a 8 million population claim). This is replicated through out the country. Very true |

oduastates: Buhari should Just shutdown the entire industry and completely write off oil as a source of revenues. Ambode and all SW governors should ban okada, street trading and shutdown all non tax-paying business. Only this attitude will move the country forward. Too many people are engaged in unproductive activities and I consider oil as an unproductive activity because the only thing it does is to distort the economy. A few are feeding fat while rest suffers.it has bred complacency and a lack of initiative. Leaders who keep running after foreign investment while there are local youth already showing the initiatives. Make it difficult so as to make people to start returning to their farm and rural areas. No benefit of that industry to anybody. Send the military over to the Creek for Sambisa training. They now have a live fire range to practice before deployment to sambisa. No decent Niger-deltan (emphasis on decent)that I know can tolerate these criminals. Why? because they more than anyone, are the major victims of the criminals masquerading militants and leaders. For the first time I agree with you |

nightmile: Dont mind your people! Its because they are comfortable in Yoruba land and when they start to run from the north 90% will still rundown to Yoruba land. How can a wise man hate someone without whom you can't survive. I appreciate your comment, but to say that the Igbo people cannot survive on its own is a pure FALLACY. The Nigerian state is interdependent, and one region cannot boast of standing in its own WITHOUT being worse off. Any region can survive on its own, but it will be worse off..... The Nigerian state is a perfect match, it's just ethnic and religious differences that is the headache here. When tribalism ends, and that feeling of superiority among certain ethnic groups that others cannot do without them, then this country will9ve forward. Thank you |

DjValency: this my cousins acct of the ideal, he was there
the clash started when an Hausa cattle rearer allegedly stabbed an Igbo man after some slight quarrel, this led to anger among the Igbo people who saw what happened. They killed two Hausa men at the spot, others scampered to the nearest police station, as the slaughter boys chased them with machetes and cutlasses. The young Igbo man who was stabbed by the Hausa man, was reported to have died some moments later as he was stabbed frm back to heart, the news of his death made the slaughter boys to organize and head to Mosque street Aba,the Hausa community in Aba has been deserted over what they feared as bigger reprisals by Ogbor Hill slaughter boys. There is chaos everywhere, from St. Michael's Aba we didnt know what happened, all we saw were group of people, some on foot and inside bus heading towards Mosque, with dangerous weapons, I have to run very far because even the security men could not stop them and there were gun shots everywhere My only problem is...... Why kill the other Hausa guy that had nothing to do with the stabbing. It is one person that was stabbed, why were two people killed? My people cheering this don't know the repercussions of this |
