Education › Re: First Class Honours: Kini Big Deal? by Ugosample(m): 12:54pm On Apr 09, 2016 |
Usika: There should have been a big deal in making a first class in any Nigerian universities but due to our fallen standard of education there is no more big deal about it. In the same vein other grades are valueless: second class upper, second class lower third class etc. Private universities awarding first class is not the issue. The problem started from public universities where bribery and corruption for grades by students and lecturers have become deep rooted and a viable source of our valueless education. Over the years the story had grown worse. And now it has become a menace that has spread to the private sector. I'm not suprised when students troop out of schools with amazing grades that they cannot defend. The corruption in the labour market encourages it as well: you get job mostly by knowing somebody irrespective of your ability to defend your results be it high or low grade. As for solution, our hopes are high that the war against corruption agenda of Buhari will get to the education sector. Thumbs up. |

enlightenedmind: What poor economic policy? This is the first time in 16 years we have even had "An Economic Policy". I wonder what happened to all the intelligent people in this country. Nigerians are wailing because money is no longer easy to come by. Welcome to he real world. You cannot just loot money. You have to work hard, work really hard and actually contribute usefully to society to get money out of it. Nigeria is the most corrupt country in the world today. Outsiders look at us and laugh and they wonder how so much people can be foolish at the same time. That you even say what you are saying simply means you do not even know how a country makes money and you think it is by selling oil. All we have been doing for 16 years is giving our oil wells out and selling it. Leaving our own people in the Niger Delta to be the destitute of this murderous people. No one except the PDP looters and their handbags/wannabes profited from this 16 years. Schooling became harder, finding a job became harder, we have to fly to england/India (India that was almost nothing when we were everything back in the 60s) to get good treatment (so those of us who cannot afford to go to india and do not have looting connections can die abi?).
And guess what? The entire world in a recession thanks to our over dependence on the dollar as a global currency that determines change in the trade markets, a default by American and EU banks means the whole world has to drink garri. So APC is not the cause of Nigeria's recession, the world has been in it for a long time. If your problem is fuel and light then I am sorry but you have a long way to go. Chei!!!! Did you just type that rubbish up there? |

Shymm3x: Lmao @ jobless folks counting other people's money.
The both of them put together aren't worth a tenth of the money put up there.
The touted traffic on that blog is hysterical. If she were to be getting that type of traffic, her blog would've crashed time ago. The template and the server she's using can't handle a tenth of that traffic. Even NL and its massive servers can't handle that type of traffic. Now imagine a basic website. Both of them aren't caking like that.
You lot need to get a job - you can't count the next person's money.
Kobe Bryant has made almost a billion dollars officially in his career from salary and endorsements, but he's not worth $80 million in his own personal wealth. Dr Dre sold Dre Beats for $3.2billion...and he didn't get more than $300 from the deal. So you can't always count people's money. Just enjoy the back and forth for comic relief and focus on ya lives. I concur too |

The President has the so call graduate in his cabinet why don't they advise him to do something if you feel leadership has to do with Education, search yourself can you lead and control a ward in your local government or control a group assigned to you in your CH.? The same thing can be done in the petroleum sector. but are Nigerians wise people? SMH |

Quakertellicus1: (The Quaker Tellicus Economic Analysis Report....with Mr QT1)
1.The ECA is dropping because oil prices have stayed low....meaning that we do not have the forex to replenish losses.
2.It is also dropping because we are an import dependent economy. (CBN's restrictive polices have slowed the drop somewhat....it would have been 15bn if CBN had not gone restrictive).
3.Because we still import a lot...plus we import raw materials for our industries (eg..soft drinks)...the prices of goods will go up as manufacturers and importers need more naira to get one dollar.
4.This means that the common man has to pay more for imported goods (like rice) and even locally manufactured goods too,
5.The reason why the govt does not take care of Nigerians well from time immemorial is because governments are not really dependent on taxation, they are dependent on revenue from exports of oil and company. As a result....the sense of accountability is reduced...compared to a govt that is heavily dependent on taxes..who has MORE PRESSURE to perform or out they go.
And that's this morning's QT economic analysis.
(Outro music...) Honestly, I love your submission |

Have you ever been in traffic and you see the giu driving your old car you sold to him and he is handling the car so tenderly like its so important meanwhile you sold it and bought a newer version. Even the headline in the post says it all Whizkid Ex girlfriend. Dont you know what ex means. it means old, former. It is even derogatory to refer to a girl or anybody for that matter as ex. If they were good enough they would be permanent. mtcheew This is why its not good for all this girls to be parading themselves with all these musicians that will end up exposing them as ex girlfriend BTW the husband has heart to see and know all that went down and still bold to pose as husband of whizkid ex. First, if you read the REAL message of the Ghanaian president to the AU, he is expanding access to Ghana to all AU member countries (mind you, ECOWAS countries have the priviledge too) and he urged others to follow his foot steps; and it will be visa on arrival, not going to apply at the embassy
Do you guys even know what visa on arrival is?

> Do they enter through the official borders?

Will the current challenge still be ongoing? No country can produce all its people can consume. It can NEVER happen. Even China, the world's manufacturing village are heavy importers too. ibedun: You are highly ignorant! And I bet you have never left Nigeria (let alone Africa) in your life. There is international politics and economic structure. There is status quo. There is a reason some countries have nuclear and chemical biological weapons in their possession but yet do not want other countries to develop the same. There is a reason why some countries are almost permanently rich and others are permanently poor. Have you ever heard or read about the WTO? They have already designed the templates that will force Africa to remain dirt poor for the next 500 years. Portfolio investors are profit seekers not "investors". Lol Really? African people and leaders are not serious people, and always do blame game. That is why Africa remains poor. A continent filled with clannish uneducated and uninformed people. I agree Africa has made progress BUT this is the sad truth. |
