amazingspiderma:
I concorn with all you said, but I disagree that Nigeria was destroyed by all ethnic groups. This was done mainly by the north. As a matter of facts Buhari is only working to restore the predemocracy political ethnic order. That is one of the reasons he has branded the SE as 5%. But the major problem is that we are in the new age of democracy, and opportunity for prosperity cannot be restricted to selected areas. If this is attempted, the campaign of PMB to repatriate stolen funds will be a lost course. The intended use of those funds is a serious question that must be answer by current administration in a way that reflects equity and unity for all Nigerians.
The world is aware of the call from Nnamdi for Biafra due to injustice, and though they are not speaking for or against him,Buhari must have to prove him wrong by his actions. From all indications, this will be a very tall order.Let's not forget,it is on record the Buhari is a former dictator, which makes his case more interesting. But one thing is sure, equity to all Nigerians regardless of ethnicity must be reflected as a key criteria.
proudly 5%.
I get your points too.
That 5% talk was a very careless talk and may come back to haunt his government, but I still stand that ALL ethnic groups have contributed to the ruination of this country.
A house divided against itself cannot stand, that is why Buhari has to push for national solidarity.

But will he? Smh
And BTW, I be 5% too

MeanChris:
It’s almost one year since the Buhari led Apc government took over power. It seems like it was just yesterday.. how time flies. From where I’m standing, I can boldly say nothing is working yet. The economy is down, unemployment rate is still the same cause everybody I know that was jobless last year is still jobless now, even the ones I know have a job are living as if they are jobless. One man made a joke that he wants fuel to continue selling at #250 because even if it sells at #80, he still wouldn’t have money to buy so its better everybody complain and he hides under that.

Power is still the same yet the tariff has increased leading some well meaning Nigerians into crime by tampering with their meters and hiding away from NEPA. Yea its NEPA.. even the next four generations in Nigeria will still know them as NEPA.

Security is nothing to write home about. Though it is a relative case because someone who lives in Asokoro, cannot be compared to someone who lives in Agatu. Some demons have been on the loose rampaging across the country. There are so many theories about them but the surprising thing is that the government has failed to acknowledge any of them or give their own opinion about the demons.

On the issue of corruption, what can I say? One thing we should understand is that the devil rules the world and if you don’t associate with or tolerate the devil, life will be hell for you. Our C in C vied for the seat of presidency and lost for three consecutive times, reason being that he believed he’s a saint who doesn’t need to associate with sinners. In 2015, he dined with the sinners and the sinners got him the presidency. Whether the president is witch hunting or fighting corruption, we should understand that there are sacred cows already and if the president should return to his saintly ways then he should prepare for 2019.

The complaint I have about the fight against corruption is that for one year now, the government has jailed no one. We hear of billions and millions returned everyday but no jail case. Left for Nigerians, those corrupt scapegoats should be brought to a square and stoned to death, so it will be something of joy if Nigerians see some of them in Kuje, Kirikiri and the likes.

On the issue of Biafra, it is a reality that Biafra or whatever name the new country will bear will surely come someday because Nigeria is not working. We are a country of 180 million so vastly diverse people. So if it doesn’t happen today or in this generation, it will still happen. I don’t personally know Nnamdi Kanu nor have I heard any of his messages to be convinced and I am not so keen to know so I have nothing to say about his crusade. One thing I know for sure is that the Nigerian government is making him a hero without knowing it. The more time he remains in prison, on trial or whatever they claim they are keeping him for, the more support he gets and the more interesting his story will become when he finally comes out. So the advice from my little voice is that the government should act wisely.

After all said and done, a voice inside me keeps telling me that things will get better and I seriously want to believe it. So friends and passersby, let’s keep our hope alive and wish well for our country because if the government fails then our country fails and we fail. My prayer is that God will give the C in C wisdom, understanding and knowledge to rule our dear nation well for the remaining three years of his tenure, so help us God.
You wrote a good piece, but let me talk about that Biafra of a thing.
The disintegration of this country will not solve anything because it is still the same people who will love in such countries.
This country has been damaged by people from ALL ethnic groups, and disintegrating will send these people back to their enclaves to continue from where they stopped at the national level.

What this country needs is restructuring and reorientation, because a lizard in Ghana is still a Lizard in Soweto; likewise a thief in Nigeria will still be a thief in Biafra/Oodua/Arewa / anywhere.

These are my thoughts tho.

Shall we say dat ASUU got it wrong?

Does ASUU understand the government of subsidy?

Shall we say dat 70& of ASUU members fully support the position of their union regarding going on strike due to subsidy remover?

I & many of my colleague do not support the union decision of embarking on industrial action.

At our Congress today many did not support ASUU going on strike but as long as the national has made up their mind in joining NLC, what else.

The point is dat let us give the present government a trial for some period and see what shall happened to the price and economy.

Why Jonathan's subsidy remover was greeted with nation wide protest and strike was dat he was not trusted and transparent with public fund management unlike Buhari regime.

Remember gsm service provider case dat at first, it was so expensive to belong, but today due to multi player of competitors, any one can easily acquire it.

My opinion for you.

Thanks
And you think Nigerians trust Buhari too?

well- u kinda hit d nail on the head
Nigerians are known to be very resilient and our leaders use that trait to dia advantage- when u push a Nigerian to the wall, rather than fight back, he would try to push the wall. that being said, anytime the govt wants to pull a fast one over d populace- the 1st thing is to create a distraction, and then build on it, afterwhich Nigerians will beg to take the pill.
another case in point: notice how the govt easily passed the importation of grass from Brazil (can u imagine- we now import grass) and the fast approval of the grazing bill. now how did this happen- simply the distraction was the rampaging fulani herdsmen ( all of a sudden the destruction attributed to the fulani herdsmen became everyday news and voila Govt came with a solution (which they planned all along)- lets acquire grazing field from states and lets import grass for the cattle...end
The grazing bill has not been approved at all.
Please say what you know

I just love traveling, mixing with the locals and experiencing different cultures. I want to see West Africa (by road) as much as I can, already seen three countries but it is time to see more. For East Africa, I am making a trip to Kenya and Tanzania next month(backpacking five cities in the two countries, and will get to see Kilimanjaro which I am pretty stoked about).

For north Africa, I am doing Morocco and Tunisia in Dec/Jan hopefully. Wanted to do Mali in Oct with a friend (who is also doing Sudan; that's my friend's thing - going to 'dangerous' places) hence why I asked those questions.

Politics › Re: Three Soldiers Killed By Militants In Foropa, Southern Ijaw, Bayelsa by Ugosample(m): 7:59am On May 11, 2016
Quakertellicus1:
Takeaways from this thread....

1.When Boko Haram kills soldiers, some people blame the whole North for being so violent. When Niger Delta militants do the same...some people blame the South for being so violent. Me....I think I put both Boko and ND militants in the same boat. They are just as bad as each other (Boko is probably worse).

Both groups have wrecked their home regions over the years...in the name of fighting for their ''rights'' .....to the point that it is going to take ages for the areas to be cleaned up.

No amnesty for both of them.

2.I always hear supporters of the Avengers say that they are fighting for resource control and restructuring of Nigeria. Funny thing is that is what their seniors said back in 2009....until the government gave them amnesty....then all that talk went away.

3.Since when were thugs responsible for guarding pipelines? How long are we going to pay danegeld to a group of people who are not really interested in anything but their pockets? (Google the meaning of danegeld....very enlightening).

4.If you want resource control and restructuring....go to the National Assembly. Stop all this talk about how the ''North'' would stop you. You put pressure on your NA reps...who then will make the necessary compromises/meetings with other reps....to get the necessary bills/laws passed.

5.For over ten years now...the Niger Delta has gotten far more money than other parts of the country. YET....the area is still underdeveloped....and yet people are not ready to ask why. Because it is far easier to blame the North than to look inward at corrupt leaders like Ibori and Alams.

6.Blowing up pipelines is silly. It worsens the environment, and drives away investors. And when there are no investors, there are no jobs...and the Niger Delta gets poorer. Meanwhile...oil is being discovered elsewhere in Africa. The Niger Delta is dispensable.

7. Someone here blamed Buhari for the deaths of the soldiers. Meanwhile that same person was blaming the North for the death of soldiers in BH territory during the last administration. Why not blame the Niger Delta now? We in the SS allowed this mess to happen because we did not invest in our youth, we did not spend more on education, we wasted the 13% derivation we got....and now we are reaping the fruits of neglect.

8. More money is not going to fix the Niger Delta. The region needs restructuring of people's minds. It does not need more money. Same goes for the North and everywhere else.

9.Some people still have not gotten over the last election.

10.We do not need a new amnesty/danegeld/restructuring/whatever. We need serious leadership from our governors and other local rulers in the South South.
I agree with your submissions

No be me assume anything o bros grin grin you are a strong man and you can do as you like, lol cheesy grin

Okay this is how it goes.
The sure way of getting to Mali is through the Mali/CIV Border.
I would have recommended Ghana/Burkina/Mali route, but as an alleged novice that you may be, I do not advice that.

Now, the busfare from Abidjan to Bamako is 30000 CFA; and prepare to spend two days on the road (nobody warned me about this grin It was looking near in the map, lol cheesy)

Hold extra cash for tips, and to stamp your passport at the border, as a Nigerian, you will pay via your nose... But the max they would charge you is 10000CFA.

Now I must earn you, there are no much fun sppts in Bamako like that, and the main tourist attractions are further north to Dogon and the rest. Head in that direction at your risk.
Getting from Lagos to Abidjan is easy. just use young shall grow in Maza maza.

ask me anything else.
Safe journey.
