Afam4eva: I'm writing this to register my displeasure with the almost absence of huge development in the South-East of the country. I have looked round the country and have discovered that, it's probably in the South-East of the country that you have the lowest numbers of development, especially capital development going on. I recently saw a thread on stadiums being built by state governments and none of these stadiums are been built by South-East governments. Governments all over the country are embarking on building New Airports in their states but none of these states are South-East states. States all over the federation are setting up tourism havens but not in the South-East and this brings me to the question, what do South-East governors use their allocation for cos i've not seen any project in the SE worth jumping up for save for a few mostly in Enugu. As an Igbo man, i find it embarassing that when it's time to even boast about what my part of the country has done, there's very little that one can be proud of. I'm even looking to see if something is going on in Asaba to even use that to boast but despite the fact that some things have been achieved in Asaba, it's still a growing city. Right now, Enugu is all there is to be boastful about in the SE and i think it's a shame that a people who pride themselves in commerce are lagging behind big time in a country that can't even be said to be developing. I think the major problem is one of leadership. We probably boast of the worst leaders that this country has produced. We have to make do with all these Ogbete leaders that our states keep churning out. For heaven sake, what business has Theodore has in becoming an LGA chairman let alone a state governor. is there nobody that can do better than Martin Elechi? Is Peter Obi the best Anambra can boast of? When will Rochas start attracting big time investors to Imo state who are not coming to setup up cheap hotels. The SE needs our attention and it has to be very fast.

My two cents/Kobo:

The development of a regional developmental frame work is what is needed to move the southeast towards attaining it developmental goals!
The idea of each state doing their own thing without recourse to areas of relative advantage is the bane of south east ala Nigeria

All the 5 states that make up the region needs to sit down on one table and draw a regional developmental plan and follow be it 10 or 20 yrs plan with each state focused on playing its own path based on area of its relative advantage.

this will also work for every region in the country.

Thank you, now you are accepting the truth. He did demand that the ECA be Shared to the state and the FG did exactly that. why is he crying? weather it was $1billion or $5Billion that was shared the fact is that each state got a percentage of the amount shared including amaechi's Rivers state. So we all know where the ECA money went, to the states.

Unlike amaechi who collected the ECA money and pretended not to know where it went in order to deceive undiscerning Nigerians.

We agree on where the FG $5billion ECA money went the question is where did the N56 billion that amaechi collected went?

The minister already replied to the ECA question ie Amechi recieved N56billion from the FG part of which was from the ECA as he Amaechi demanded that the ECA be shared to states.

What has amaechi done with the N56 billion in rivers state is of greater importance for we now know what the FG did with its $5billion they shared it to the states.

The onus is on ameachi to prove what he did with His N56 billion.

take dat: Is Amaechi a member of the Jang led NGF? Is Jang elected to govern Nigeria. Each State is a stake holder, Plateau cannot decide for Lagos or Rivers likewise Rivers cannot decide for Plateau. The ECA is not a FG account, it is a Federation Account. The President cannot unilaterally make decisions to deduct from the ECA to augment the shortfall in revenue simply because he is incapable of curbing crude oil theft. The problem is that there is no synergy, and you can't lay the blame solely at the feet of Amaechi, the President himself is guilty.

If you guys want to attack Amaechi, I am less concerned but he raised genuine questions!

Dude was it not the same amaechi that threaten the FG with fire and brimstone if it did not share the ECA to states? get your facts right! the FG did just what Amaechi and his faction of NGF asked for from the FG and now they are crying wolf.

take dat: Amaechi did not deny asking together with other governors for the deduction of $1billion from the ECA, but is $1billion same as $5billion? Forget about Amaechi's shenanigans, we as Nigerians must know how the economy is being managed. Lots of accusations and counter accusations in the news these days, NOI should answer the questions not for Amaechi but for all Nigerians. Openness is the antidote to the constant criticism!

Then you an every other Nigerian have the freedom of information act empowering you to demand for any information form the FG that will enable you decipher how the govt. is ran.

Stop relying on crooked politicians like Amaechi who is only interested in his political and financial future and not even of that of the rivers state people that gave him the mandate to govern. He is nothing but an Egoistical narcissist and 2015 will be his year of reckoning.

No The Issue is about the crybaby Gov. Amaechi who lead the govs. forum to campaign against the FG for the release of the ECA to states. and when the FG decided to harken to his demand and shared the money in order to offset the dwindling allocation to states due to oil theft which the same amaechi was on record crying about how rivers state was not recieving enough allocations from the FG. He is telling Nigerians that he did not know the money was from the ECA!

Did amaechi think that all the money will be given to rivers state alone so he can do as he pleases with the state fun as has been his attitude?If his beef is about the sharing formula he should come clean with it and stop decieving Nigerians for we all know that he was in support of sharing the ECA to states.

Ameachi is now sounding like the boy who cried wolf, and his argument about the ECA is becoming trite and redundant.

The Same questions could be asked of Gov. Amaechi Of the N56billion He has recieved from the federation Account,
What has he done with it?
Where does he get the money to fund all the anti GEJ forums and conferences with his group of G7 govs?
Can Amaechi render account of the N56 Billion of the rivers state sovereign wealth to the people of rivers state?
What has amaechi achieved during his second term mandate in rivers state to improve the lots of the citizens of that state?

Until Amaechi sets the record straight on the issue of accountability of his state funds which he is the custodian, He is not in any position to demand accountability from anyone including the FG.

All this does not negate the fact that the economist reported that Lagos state GDP is greater than that of the country of kenya. thats a fact you can foam in the mouth all you want and publish irrelevant stats.

It doesnt change that fact the GDP of Lagos State is Far Higher than Kenyas GDP!
