Culture › Re: Why African Women Must Go Natural by UjSizzle(f): 5:56pm On Sep 02, 2015 |
Methinks the men who make a big deal out of the hair issue are being delusional I mean it's just hair! Why must it be tied to her self-worth in this present age? I might understand the need to admonish young African women a decade ago, but this is the age of enlightenment; there are very few women out there today who really give a damn about being light skinned, skinny or nappy haired. Perhaps what the men need to understand is that every woman has a right to decide what works best for her. It is her body after all. It is her hair! Ask yourself one question. When you see a white woman rocking a 'fro, do you also assume she's plagued by low self-worth? Yes? No? I'll take your latter to be the answer. You'll likely say to yourself that African style is going global ad you'll super proud to see other races grow their boobs and arsee into the full figure of the African woman. But where is their self-esteem? Better still, where is YOUR self-esteem? You worship these women who imitate our natural looks and yet castigate us for imitating theirs (even when our reason could be something as simple as switching our look--like women are prone to do.) and yet WE are the ones with low self-esteem? Men need to ask themselves some serious questions. More so, you folks need to leave women alone. We love being complex beings. We love to play with a variety of looks. And when it suits our fancy, we'll try our hands out on the African 'fro (but I won't hold my breath on this one. Maintaining a 'fro is one helluva task!) |

BoboYekini: Correct.
Frotteurism (sometimes called frottage, although psychiatrically this use is incorrect) for the sexual disorder involving nonconsensual rubbing in public places without discovery.
Frot·tage is usually consensual.
frot·tage\frȯ-ˈtäzh\ noun 1 : the technique of creating a design by rubbing (as with a pencil) over an object placed underneath the paper; also : a composition so made 2 : the act of obtaining sexual stimulation by rubbing against a person or object Modified |

You don't say. There are perverts everywhere now, that's why I prefer to sit in spacious buses or beside women. I experienced something similar not so long ago on my way back from Victoria Island. Another was on a bus to Oshodi. And one time in Anambra. Very shameless people around harassing women. |

I think you should let it work itself out. The purpose of the scheme is national integration and you can't be anymore integrated than in a rural community. You can learn the language if you're interested. Live among people who aren't as involved in the urban pace. Cheap accommodation. Cheap/Free food from the community. And most importantly you get to make the most impact in the lives of people who really need it.
Your concern should be security of life and property.
I served in a rural community in Benue state (Batch B 2011). Can't say I regret the experience. |
Pets › Re: A Tale Of How You Were Chased By A Dog by UjSizzle(f): 11:04pm On Aug 30, 2015 |
Caracta: I experienced it once when I was about 7 years old. I was running an errand for my mum and decided to choose a shorter route. I was singing and excited for a reason I cannot remember. Then I passed in-between two uncompleted buildings. The fences were so narrow like typical Lagos buildings.
Suddenly, I looked up and saw a dog staring at me. Then it started walking towards me. Very narrow wall. I froze. I stopped singing. I started crying. The dog walked closer looking mean and angry. I ran. The dog barked and ran after me.
Then I fell. The dog charged towards me and barked right at my face. Then it climbed over me and went the other way.
For a young child, that was a terrible experience that gives me goose bumps each time I remember. I refuse to forgive that dog and every other dog. I cannot simply love a dog. It has become natural. I was disrespected, ridiculed and bullied by one of them without an apology! Apology? Lmao na craze dey worry you ni |
