ibechris: Since I was born down to this very day of my existence,I have never met a rich teacher. Surprisingly, in my 4th year in the University in one of our real estate finance classes,i interjected and boldly asked my lecturer an intelligent lady then, and i said ma, can u teach us how to make money with the application of this course.
Trouble: She went beserk and said it boldly,I am not hear to teach u and others how to make money,if u want to make money that I should go learn a trade or do something that will give me money.
Since then, I knew no one will teach u how to be successful except u (yourself). It is not about making the money but preserving it by taking certain investible risks. Most educated people in Nigeria are afraid of taking risk, that is why u see these men in business doing well especially these Igbo guys who usually go through years of learning a particular trade and most end up doing so well. It is not about school but mentoring and being able to apply what u have been taught. Hahahahaha Make una no kill me with laugh |

The best bet is for every worker to Invest on a regular basis while working, do this during your working life. Chibuking81: https://businesspost.ng/economy/dangote-cement-shareholders-eye-more-dividends-from-share-repo/ By Dipo Olowookere
The share buy-back programme proposed by the board of Dangote Cement Plc has been approved by shareholders of the company. The scheme was authorised at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held in Lagos on Wednesday.
The board is planning to repurchase shares of the cement firm at the stock market. About 10 percent or 1.7 billion units of the company’s entire 17.04 billion issued and fully paid-up ordinary shares of 50 kobo each are to be mopped up from the market using funds from retained earnings of over N700 billion as at the third quarter of 2019.
According to the scheme, these equities will be bought back within 12 months and no director of the company would be allowed to participate, while the purchase price will be at the discretion of the board.
At the meeting yesterday, some shareholders of Dangote Cement commended the board for this initiative, saying it will enhance the share value and juicier returns on investment.
President of Authentic Nigerian Shareholders Association, Mr Mohammed Audu, expressed hope that the money realized from the ‘share buy-back’ by the shareholders will be used for investment purposes.
“The share buy-back will ensure that the value of our share will go up and we are also sure of getting better dividends. So, as you can see, all the shareholders here today voted unanimously in support of the motion. We voted for it and also thank Aliko Dangote for making us richer,” Mr Audu said.
on his part, National Coordinator Emeritus of the Independent Shareholders Association of Nigeria, Sir Sunny Nwosu, said, “As shareholders, we have been clamouring for share buy-back for so many years and today, Aliko Dangote has given us hope.”
According to him, the repurchase of share shares from the stock market “is very good as against the practice of share deconstruction that is being practiced by some Nigerian companies which never gives back anything positive to the shareholders.”
“We are indeed very happy with this (share buy-back) and we are also quite sure that with this that you have done today, you have proved yourself to be the best chairman of all the corporate companies in Nigeria,” he said, emphasising that, “We know that this arrangement will lead to share price increase and more dividends for the shareholders.”
From the last bolded statement it shows that Alh the chairman was there physical. But whether he was there or not, everything there went according to his script. We pray make ALHAJI make us proud this year oooo We are with him |

PETERiCHY: EXACTLY.
For the NEWBIES that don't know how this stuffs works.close your ears to war mongers and monitor your portfolio meticulously from November till April those 6months are the PEAK PERIOD.
EXIT the market in the month of MAY for the so called LONG TERMERS and enjoy your LOOTS in peace.
Even during the dreaded stock GLOBAL MELTDOWN in 2008.I was in Singapore the ASI peaked in March at 66000bpt before it started declining in the month of APRIL after released of 2007 F/Y and 2008 Q1 results by SEPTEMBER it become GLARING there was serious fire on the mountain..
Due to this strategy some of us weren't affected much by the 2008 stock meltdown though I later paid heavy dues with BankPHB in 2011 and OANDO in 2014.
That's why we always preach SELL in MAY and GO AWAY then come back in NOVEMBER to repeat the circle again and again
*ThE OcToPuS* Ogas Perooo...you buy Bank PHB then thinking that one day your car will run on water... LooooooooL |

emmanuelewumi: The risk free way to enjoy your bond it the ability to hold till maturity, it requires discipline and ability to think through before committing fund to any Investment.
We have people who will buy Treasury Bills of 91 days and after 30 days they will be planning to sell due to one emergency that requires money. This is a sign of indiscipline and carelessness.
That is why I always preach diversification, before committing funds into an investment we need an emergency fund that can take care of a minimum of 3 months of our expenses.
If you are liquid with different cash flows you can always take advantage of when bonds are cheaper due to interest rates fluctuations and buy more.
Investors who invested N100 million on FG 10 years bond at 16%. Will receive a coupon payment of N16 million for 10 years and then get his N100 million after 10 years.
If part of the N16 million coupons are Invested in inflation free Investmens like real estate, defensive stocks, personal business, Eurobond. I think such an investor would have hedged inflation. Well said Sir. Some investors are even holding FGN Bonds upto 2037 to 2049, while enjoying the coupon payments 6 monthly till maturity. Multiple streams of income from investment keep you moving and solving different personal needs. |
