Hi all.

Please, what are your takes on Nestle?
Hold or Sell to come in later? I know it depends on what price I bought but I need a general overview of the instrument, the final decision is mine.
Just want to be sure that I'm not missing anything.

When is the anticipated FYE report coming out? Lady Mcy56

Hold your NESTLE if you bought at a bargain price less than N1,000 and accumulate more if the price goes beyond your purchase price.

My opinion only

This stock is 6.95 with an expected dividend of 25kobo. It is sad that FBNH has been unable to recover any significant loans losses written off in the past.

This is where HW gets very ruthless with Diamond/Access loan recovery.
He has liquidated lots of oil & gas assets as part of loan recovery drive.
I know of an oil rig they sold last year. In the middle of negotiation for the rig, he was proposing a seized Japaul yard in PH for sale to the prospective rig buyer to sweeten the deal. grin

Looking at where FBNH is coming from.... i can only applaud this result. Even if them scrape from EPS, i go still hail them. The 50% drop in NPL's is remarkable. If they sustain the trend in 2020, FBNH will easily do N80bn. Na then the party go start.
But they will start sharing another Loans to their friends. ...since the previous management the gave the NPL were rewarded handsomely with gana must come bags

You can decide to get you dividend or if you believe in the future of the company you can tell the company to give you additional share instead of cash dividend.

That is why the percentage holdings of the core Investors of Stanbic IBTC and Nigeria Brewery increases every years

The additional 265 million shares issued via DRIP saved Stanbic IBTC almost N11 billion cash in dividend payments.
But hope this will not be diluting the share values. ..?

I may consider to buy stanbic share if there is a major bear with price depreciation

The EPS would have slightly increased. The company introduced DRIP Dividend Reinvestment Program about 2 years ago.

Which gave interested shareholders to earn their dividends in form of additional shares in the company. The core Investor and some retail Investors subscribed to the DRIP , this makes the outstanding shares of the company to increase every year. The DRIP increased the outstanding shares of Stanbic IBTC by 265 million shares between 2018 and 2019.

Nigeria Brewery also has a DRIP
Sir, this is very interesting

So is like giving the shareholders bonus via dividend?

I thought FA people just wait for dividends at the end of the financial year and never really bothered about share price changes.
FA are financial analysts. ..look into companies financial books and know what the management of the company are saying, not saying, hiding, value the worth of the shares which may be fair value or current price or bargain price
Ogas like currentprice, emmanuelewumi, Bigjay, Pluto, oakperl ,Chibuking, Rebecca etc are good in that aspect . Usually may be interested in dividend payments

TA are techcnical analysts otherwise called Chart people. ..na chartists oga Emmanuelwumi de call them using price volume chart to know daily, weekly, monthly or yearly movement of stocks. Most of them are traders, jump in jump out...jijo masters. Most are not interested in dividend payments
Sometimes, they will jump in and will not jump out without losing funds...here stop loss is activated.
Ogas like FXUSER, BullBearMkt, Agbalowomeri etc are there..

But some ogas like Agbalowomeri, Rabidoracle etc combine everything and know when to invest. ...buys stock at bottom price and sell at high prices and how on long vacation ......usually are not interested in dividend

Its just fun knowing where you belong and stick to what work for you with aim of making money and less loss

I try to follow daily. I am not totally green though, but una level too high and 5k plus pages is too much to spend ones lifetime trying to catch up with.
Na so...usually I catch up after work

But some important discussions may be going on in the mix of the funs catching which one may not see very well if your rushing it.

Like BUA CEMENT merger with CCNN discussion that was going on about 4 months ago. Because I was busy then and didn’t pay much attention in the NSEMPA thread, I missed that opportunity of buying CCNN at N17 -19, just to sell to BUA CEMENT this January at N34...just see golden opportunity one missed

But more opportunities will come again this year and God will help me to invest wisely in good opportunities that will come up in the stock market.

Each time I enter that una stock signal thread, una argument non de let person know which one to pitch tent with.
Digital economy is the fastest way to get ahead of the game in this 21st century, in a way it is similar to stock I reckon.
No mind dem ogas for the NSEMPA. ...most are catching fun there.

But most people there will answer your questions if one ask...despite the funs they are catching. ...the thing is that the sweetness of stocksmarket discussion is in the catching funs of how the various stocks are 'behaving' in terms of their currentprice, poor or good financial results , expectations of dividend payments, future prices etc

Just try and be listening and getting use to the terms there, with time, you too will master the stock market easily. ..

The problem many people have with thinking outside the box in this context is the amount of sharks and crocodile ready to separate you from your money, which is why you see a lot of people focus more on capital preservation than even the interest. For many people, the interest is just an add-on, they are more interested in the fact that at the end of the tenor when they need their money, they know when to find it.
Outside that particular box, the uncertainties are too many to mention.
Yes Sir. ...just like me...na real estate , NTB, mmf, stocks and bonds. ..any other investments i know sabi ooo

Am more into stock market and bonds now..

DigitalMallam:
It will be nice to see tb rise again, but if you look carefully. Nigeria is not in this alone, all across Europe negative yield tb/bond is the order of the day. So this made me less optimistic.
Aside this, grapevine has it that FG is having troubles serving our loans, so part of the advice given by prof. Soludo team is what is being played out. To borrow at ridiculously low rate to service these loans. Plus the ever increasing (idle) pension funds chasing fg tb and bonds.
Do you know that Union bank commercial paper at 5% was instantly bought 100% by the PFA.
These are no good signs at all.
Very Apt.

That is what is really playing now.

So much liquidity in the system. ...FGN is borrowing at a very low rate now to service the high rates they alrady borrowed. Also the FGN is selling crude at high price of over $60 per barrel

This low NTB rates may continue till close to 2023 election except crude oil prices crashes below 30 dollars per barrel.

Also the yield on FGB bonds is fast depreciating, making investors to look for any available low risk portfolios. The PFAs are chasing with their idle trillions of naira to any available low risk investment we little investors may consider as better yield.

Stock market may be alternative, but when newbies may entere into stock market; not knowing how to dine with men in blacks, may get their capital funds burnt out

So is really a hard time, but in all of these things, we shall overcome.

It's a good time to think outside the box. ..

Same here, I live on yearly budgets. After getting my upfront on tbs, it covers everything for the year and I do reinvest the surplus back to same tbs. But now, things are not working according to plans, affecting everyone around me,cos if my budget is 70 naira for a week but ended up spending 55 naira, I give the remainder to family n friends who need help, i do this randomly, so this normally reduce the number of calls I get regularly for helps. @emmanuelewumi,ahib n others valuable contributors. Bonds seems a bit hard for me to crack for now but still will love to try, what do you think about putting huge funds into mmf, as in all my savings pending the time treasury Bill's will be better. My reason is that : i can pull out of mmf anytime to face tbs full time whenever it bounces back
But Sir, try read this funny book...WHO MOVED MY CHEESE?
