If only you could keep out politics from your post, Maybe, just maybe, you would be taken more seriously. For you who came out a couple of days ago and praised the holders of TRANSCOHOTEL for being steadfast, You have come out to rubbish a company that has an affiliation with the biggest brewer in the world Ab Inbev Nigeria Holdings Bv. I had to go through most of your posts and realized there was so much emotional analysis in your write-up because of your political affiliation. You went further trying to justify your write-ups with some moribund companies that have experienced the so-called "Tinubu Bounce." At the end of the everyone here is the CEO of his/her portfolio. I am not invested in IB, but I think it's very disingenuous to bring political analysis to rubbish a company. I may not post here regularly, but I am as old as this thread. There are over 200 companies in the NGX . If you do not have anything nice to say about some of them, say something nice about the one you like and is well-run. At the end of the day, the market will decide. As you have come here to rubbish IB, some other analysts have waxed lyrical about the same company. Time will tell who is right or wrong. In investing, the only right approach, be it FA, TA, SA or CA., is making money and taking your profit.

Mankindman:

Only stock that defiled and resist Tinubull is INTBREW
This stock destroy sentiment, TA, FA.
Corruption at it's peak. Yearly Red flags.
About 3 years ago, INTBREW was able to raise N165 billion through the sale of 18.3 billion units of ordinary shares of 50 kobo each at N9.00 per share to its existing shareholders in December 2019, thereafter, the share has been plummeting and sometimes inertia. Nothing to show for the minority shareholders that participated in the rights issue, rather the company report losses upon losses 📉 😢 🤣 😔 😪 😤 📉. Loss + loss=net loss. Year in, year out. No wonder Soludo says The Peter Obi investment in INTBREW worth next to Nothing.
The 18.3 B units that was fully subscribed in Dec 2019 @N9 per unit now worth N72.3B from N165B.
I can beat 💓 my chest and conclude that Mr Time is not in favour of this badly manage company.
Very shameless company, coming out yearly to announce net loss.
Make the majority owners surrender this company to people wey Sabi run brewery business.
Net loss is anti TA, anti FA, anti SA.
I do not know if investors ever read about the company they are putting their money on!
For FTNCOCOA, the news has been there since 2017/18 that some foreign investors wanted to take over the company, this eventually happened.
For JAPAUL, the news has always been there that the majority owner wanted to diversify to mining and bring in foreign partners and investors, For CHAMS, most conservative analysts put the trailing and forward PE above the current Market price.
The graph of INTBREW is nauseating, always return a bad candle and stick patterns.
I haven't seen 2 out of 10 TA experts agreeing on buy, sell, hold.
It looks as if the company doesn't have a product they are selling, while in reality most of their products compete favorably with Guiness and NB products.

@Pa Ewumi, FMDQ and NGX fighting to take control of CSCS Nigeria. NGX has been doing some heavy buyback of CSCS shares as they fight for control as 2 of the highest shareholders of CSCS have sold their shares to FMDQ. NASD ran from 3 Naira to 27 Naira in less than 3 months. We might see another power-play here as CSCS is the cash cow of NGX and should they lose control to FMDQ ( Which I will like) some people on the board of CSCS may go.
In the meanwhile congrats t all those who have CSCS Nigeria shares. You are in for some ride there

NSE to Change Name Soon, as it Plans to Complete its Demutualisation Process.
The exchange recently in an email message to members, stated it would be holding an Extraordinary General Meeting with members of its council to hold a vote for the demutualisation of the bourse and then after, will list on its exchange.
However, this is part of the demutualisation process which President Buhari signed in 2018.
The demutualisation process would also see the company change its name from the Nigeria Stock Exchange to “Nigeria Stock Exchange PLC“. Members of the exchange are scheduled to vote on March 3rd to convert from a member-owned mutual organization into a public limited-liability company.

Hello All
I have been going back and forth with NSE and SEC to get clarity on this Mobil/Nipco take over . I had issues in the fact that investors were misinformed and didn't make sense how a cut off date is determined before the offer period is set . I have written to SEC and they are going to commence investigation on the matter . It wasn't until i wrote that it dawned on the NSE that the information should be public notice and they only put up the information yesterday on the website . I also thought as a matter of necessity, the acceptance forms for those who qualified should have been on GTL registrars website . Apparently this whole scheme is to create some overnight millionaires at the expense of the undiscerning investor
I would advise all those who qualify to make sure they get their acceptance forms from GTL . Its just 9 days away . I am aware some people have got theirs . Do not be left out. The regulation of our market leaves much to be desired and its a shame that we reward failures with second term
A lot of malpractices have been taking place in that market for the benefit of certain people . We have old and misinformed people who represent shareholders whose main duty is to ask for bonus shares and jolly rice instead of asking serious questions. I REPEAT THE ACCEPTANCE FORM IS BEING SENT TO SELECTED INVESTORS . Be informed

Very good observation @robobo . This brings to mind what happened with IHS and it resulted in my reporting them to SEC na the secretary of the company then One Mr Lawal had to call me and was pleading with me that anytime i come to Lagos, they will host me and all that .
It is also mandatory to them that they make full disclosure to the NSE and uphill this moment , I have not seen any notice either from the NSE nor SEC . What this implies is not making full disclosures and at times like this when foreign investors are trying to come back into the market, regulators would not want to rock the boat . You cannot have a cut off date before an offer is made public . Trust me they won't get away with this one . this is what I read . It said the offer will run from the the 30th of May till the 29th of june . you cant have a cut off date before even qualifying for the offer . It makes no sense and its a ploy to buy cheaply and make the voting easier for themselves . read "Following the successful acquisition of 60 per cent equity stake of Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc by Nipco Investment Limited (NIL) from ExxonMobil Oil Corporation, the company has applied to regulators to acquire additional shares from minority shareholders.

The financial transaction, which is being handled by Cordros Capital and Zenith Capital as financial advisers, has been approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The company explained at the weekend that the takeover bid is in compliance with Part XII, Section 131(1)(a) of the Investment & Securities Act (ISA) of 2007 and Rule 445 of the SEC’s Rules & Regulations, which requires NIPCO to make a mandatory takeover bid to all the other shareholders of Mobil Nigeria.

The application for the takeover bid opened on May 30 and it is expected to close on June 29, 2017.

“This offer period represents the opportunity for qualifying minority shareholders of Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc, who tender their shares to earn cash consideration of N417.12 per ordinary share tendered at a satisfactory premium in comparison with the current market price of N290, which the shares are being traded on the floor of the NSE last Friday,” the company said."

Lest I forget, it doesnt mean that the 417 price must be agreed upon. It cant be less than 417 but it could be more . when the emergency general meeting is held and the price is 500 on the floor, shareholders can push for that price. IHS had to increase their price and I have suggested to SEC what they should do in this situation but its like we never learn

Happy to see you here today.
pls what is your contribution to this market?
Thanks Sir Loco . always try and take advantage of the anomalies in the market . If Mobil is paying you a guaranteed 417 if your name is on the list of shareholders by june 29th, thats a no brainer . The company involved in the deal is just trying to push down the price of Mobil so that they can mop up at a lower price and and be able to influence majority decision to get the take over approved and anyways they are over paying for Mobil. please take advantage of that and don't let anyone tell you the cut off date has passed . afterall Ashaka cement is still trading despite Wapco take over .
Market will always go up and down . plan your strategy well and if you are in doubt ask the technical guys here for assistance . they know what they are doing and they are very approachable . Lets not get too excited when the market is bullish or too despondent when its bearish . just have a plan .
if you have a particular question and i can help , i will answer . once again thanks for recognizing my presence . you are a good guy and you will do well in FCMB

We also believe the recently approved new PFA investment guideline, which stipulates minimum of 10-15% for equities investment should serve to boost both turnover and price momentum. We estimate this could see potential inflows of c.N600bn in PFAs investment into the equities space as part of portfolio rebalancing exercise.

Above is the weekly chart of the NSEASI showing April 8, 2016 close. We can observe the following:

1. On the price Bar Chart: I noticed that when ever the price touches the the blue line (resistance), there is always a significant fall in price. Now we have hit that line again we can see what is happening the market is respecting that line. Conclusion; BEARISH SIGN

2. All the MACD settings are showing MACD going below Zero which is a bearish sign

3. MACD: We can see the MACD setting (13,21.cool and (12.26,9) are reaching the resistance yellow and white line respectively. Conclusion; BEARISH SIGN

4 RSI: Any further break below 41.6 on the weekly RSI levels (which can only happen when price goes below 25,328 points on NSEASI) means we may be seeing big drop in price.

In my opinion I think the NSEASI is still a sell at current levels as indicators points to lower price

Greetings . Its result time. some bank results will disappoint you . The set up is gathering momentum . Do not make extrapolations and get carried away. That Afriprud paid 43 kobo does not mean the parent organization will pay more . I have some friends here and would advise to steer clear of certain bank stocks as the impairments will erode all the revenues generated . When a stock looks cheap on paper and cannot sustain any momentum, be very afraid . You are not the only one looking at such stocks. The fact that its not rightly priced shows you there is something underlying that we do not know . GTB has been stable despite all the shocks . While stocks like UBA and Access bank looks grossly undervalued, there is a reason why . I do not like elaborating too much but tread carefully . Be careful guys and good luck .

Bros, I understand...Funny thing is that nobody observed a hint that peterichy actually posted by chance...He posted that zenth bank was already selling below its IPO value of N10...That's enough to let you know when to take position.... Imagine seeing the likes of GTBANK selling below N13 or so...This was a one time opportunity.. Anyways, I know the truth is bitter but that is the fun of investment. smiley
So your new parameter now is to take a position because a stock is selling lower than its IPO price . That's a new one for me . We learn everyday . Do you know how many stocks are selling lower than their IPO prices? Time will tell if it was one time opportunity . The same GTB that closed lower than its highest price yesterday . I no get power to argue and I go take my sabbatical for this forum again . Hope is not a strategy . Please follow an investment plan that works for you. We are watching . Please if anybody is offended by my post , I apologize and please buy, buy and buy .

Bros if no be say I know you , I for give you better back hand . I really do not like posting much here because a lot of times, sentiments becloud our sense of judgement and we get carried away. See the carnage that happened on the FTSE today . Investors lost 58 billion pounds today .The dow is down by over 400 points . Apple is trading below 95 dollars . the cash flow of apple can finance Nigeria budget for 20 years , twitter traded at a price lower than than its IPO price today. Oil tested the 27 dollars barrier today and by some kind of magic we think we are immuned to the market right ? like somebody has said here, lets see how situations will be by friday at midday . Don't get trapped . we will see lower prices than we saw before this . The problem then is people will rush in then and the market will go lower . Nobody seem to be able to explain what is going on apart from falling oil prices but its more than that . People are always to quick to think there is always an ulterior motive to post once its not positive . You don't have to listen to anybody . follow a strategy that works for you but be careful . its a tough time to invest

Market is currently bloody, one can buy the whole of Skye Bank for about N15 billion which is about the cost of 30 average houses on Banana Island.

Buy the whole of FBNH for about N130 billion.

Buy the whole of UACN and her subsidiaries like CAPL, UPDC, Grand cereals, Livestock feeds, Portland paints, UAC foods etc for N33 billion.

Buy the whole of UAC property and their real-estate portfolio all over the country for just N8.5 billion.

These are definitely interesting times.

I have lost money, but I pray this trend will continue till the end of this quarter.

Sir Manie, I hope you are not eyeing Skye bank. you are a seasoned investor . Skye bank Paid N120 billion for mainstreet bank but market cap is now 13.7 billion and wants to raise 30 billion and $150 million dollars Tier 2 capital. that it looks cheap does not mean it has fundamentals . but the volumes traded this while are not much considering the foreign portfolio holdings, can recall the sale about 86, 000 units of dangcem moving its price 4% down, thanks for your response as I am learning

Thats why when you think the offers are drying up, they appear 4 times fold . Thread carefully even if your heart tells you something different . What is happening now is sell when you can . The answer was in response to the question asked . If you try to rationalize it, it may not make sense but do not go against the market . Simple message, the selling is not done yet . Don't console yourself trying to appropriate the size held by foreign to volume being sold . The sell off is not peculiar to out market .However the problem with our market is we do not have any kind of clarity as to where we are going with our economic policies . When international companies of repute like apple , tesla are all taking a beating, companies in a disorganized country will take more . While other countries are looking for solutions to ride out the hard times, we are discovering so many other problems and the truth of the matter is we are not ready for any solutions. Status quo must remain the same . The rich must get richer while the poor get poorer . Valuations for some companies are fantastic . If you can wait for a minimum of 2 years , do the needful. there is no going to be a quick turn around . my question is who is buying now?
Local institutional investors are buying because some stock valuations are super attractive . However , they must be ready to hold for a long period as they are buying from foreign institutional investors who are not tired of selling as they just want out . Implication is we won't see high prices soon until they (foreign investors ) decide to come back . However if you are fine with the dividends by all means go ahead and do as you please. The only problem is at the end of next year when local institutional investors fund managers are supposed to report they gains for the year, we might witness them selling off . Its like when brokers decide to flood the market with stocks , you are on your own . for those who want to own the companies like their own, I will say start buying in tranches.if you are there for JIJO , sorry the market is not for you

These are trying times for investors. The signals are not good and its not peculiar to Nigeria alone . Prices of equity may have come down significantly but that does not mean you should catch a falling knife. Yields of most equities are very attractive but how long are you prepared to hold? Its not easy to time the market but what hope and direction does the nation give you to believe things will become normal in the next one year? people may have bought GTB at 13 yesterday but it could fall to 7 and the implication is you could have bought up to double the shares you bought at 13.
The 400 richest people have lost $305 billion from their combined net worth this month as global equities tumbled for the worst start to a year on record as concern mounts that global growth is faltering . The Dow industrials lost almost 400 points in Yesterday’s selloff, and investors snatched up bonds anew, sending 10-year Treasury yields briefly below 2% for the first time since October.
fresh lows in oil prices, stumbling Chinese stocks and weak U.S. economic data shows all is not well with financial markets worldwide. I do not see where the hope is for Nigeria considering the fact that we can't even solve our little problems
This may not appeal to everyone but cut your losses and keep your cash for the time being and you will be happy for it . Those who bought first bank at N8.00 thought they were making a killing . they could have bought 3 times more shares now. For dividend hunters, your N2.00 dividend of 2014 will be better than your N4.00 dividend in 2016 .
please check this write up and see exactly where the market is going . The sell off is very far from over . Its a very simple explanation of what is going on . if you need clarity , post your questions

http://www.nigeriaretailinvestors.com/index.php/investor-forum/the-trading-room-home-of-technical-analysis/292-is-the-world-stock-market-crashing

I am not a prophet of doom and I know a lot of us are too emotional when it comes to investments but I will advise that you listen to wise counsel.
One more thing , there is a certain 'audacious" Oil company who cannot survive with oil prices below $32 dollars. The implication is that company is going to wind down. I have sounded this warning ages ago and people criticized me . Even people made money from Nospecto and even a dead clock can be right 2 times in a day .
The question of how to navigate the market at times like this is to do nothing .However its very difficult to do nothing especially when you have cash.
Prices might be low but it does not mean equities are relatively cheap
Thread carefully brethren

TonyeBarcanista:

Now you are resorting to insult and baseless accusation of me. Suit yourself man..
Me insult you? its not my nature even though its a faceless forum. some of us were brought up properly so won't descend to that level but when you start asking me what my business is and whether the wife complained to me about his cheating, you made me started thinking whats your business too and just because you are trying too hard to prove your case, cheating has become oaky.
my question remains, where is Mustapha in all these ? Do you know Mustapha personally ? whats your relationship with him ? is it the same mustapha that went to igbinedion in Benin? I want to know where you are coming from. there is @phillip ibim doing image laundry for him on twitter and Tonye on Nairaland . I am sure Mustapha is not deaf and dumb
