1.Ministers of labour and health will foolishly remain adamant because they are biased in favour of NMA since they are medical doctors themselves.

2. The strike would continue and many innocent Nigerians will unfortunately die avoidable deaths.

3. Pressures would be mounted on the government from different pressure groups, concerned prominent Nigerians and even from the international community.

4. The government would wake up from her slumber and get ready to act.

5. Ministers of health and labour would be shamefully removed from office and possibly prosecuted.

6. Unbiased persons would be appointed to replace the sacked ministers

7. JOHESU's demands would be sufficiently met

8. There will be a total overhaul of the healthcare system. Position of CMD would be proscribed and replaced by CEOs who are not medical doctors but seasoned and unbiased managers just like it is done in the UK. We'll have medical directors (physician) Pharmaceutical directors (pharmacist), directors of nursing services (nurses), directors of laboratory services (lab scientists) etc, all of these directors would enjoy equal rights and privileges and answerable to the CEO.

9. NMA would either go and die or go on strike. If they choose the former, better for them, but if they choose the later, the CEOs would place adverts immediately and employ better qualified med doctors from within and outside Nigeria to replace them. You will amazed as to how quickly they are replaced.

The above scenarios would play out if the strike lingers. Mark my words!

That is another event that would occur if NMA arrogantly continues to obstruct the course of justice in resolving the JOHESU strike. Then, you will use your poo to treat patients. There is no shortcut in life, anyone who wants to earn like a doctors should take jamb form and go to med school. You read MLS for 5 years but u want to head those that did lab medicine for 6 years in addition to 6 years of medical school.

Do you know that there are countries that are tuition free not just for their citizens but also to foreigners? Google those countries, they provide the most quality education in the whole wide world!
If you understand the need for education, you'd know that education just like potable water supply, should be a basic human amenity.
Federal universities in Nigeria have been tuition free since their inception, why should our generation start paying fees? Instead of you to be advocating for return of merit based federal government scholarships for further education for deserving graduands, you're here going the reverse direction.
Perhaps you don't even know that the money students pay to federal universities all these years have been corruption money because there has never been anything like tuition fees for all federal institutions!

go and check the taxes citizens of those counties pay and compare with the peanut you pay as tax here. Countries over there have tax to GDP ratios of over 40% while Nigeria is at 4%. They pay very high tax rates, rates that if introduced here, people like you will insult the government saying they want to suffer the common man.


The reason for the rot in our education system is that is is heavily subsidized by the government, and the government doesn't have enough money to adequately fund them, so they give Nigerians what they want, dirt cheap and useless education. The government was able to adequately fund back then because we had just about 7 universities with about 50000 students. Compare that to the millions of students we have today. Quality education has to be paid for, either indirectly by high taxes, or directly by adequate tuitions. This is the same problem our health sector is facing, lack of adequate funding.

If there's no tuition for federal universities, it should start now. What you should be advocating for is that the tuition is used for the purpose for which it is meant.

Here we have a government saying no more school fees and went further to clarify that such practice is alien to our laws. But what do we have, deliberate attempt to rubbish the move, some have even started providing different camouflage by which the school authorities can circumvent the directive. Na wa. In my time, students set the tune for the govt and school authorities. I started and ended my university education on a school fees of N120 and accommodation fee of N90. Aluta is obviously moribund.

you see how silly you are. So federal university's should start charging N120 and N90. Instead of us to be clamouring for increase in fees in order to increase quality of education, however, I'm not surprised, Nigerians prefer free but useless education to paid-for and world class education

I intend to hire independent non-executive directors I'm my company but I'm confused on what their remuneration should be like. The company is an established one with revenues of little more than N200 million annually. They are not going to be involved in the day to day running of the business, they will only be giving advice to the management of the business and sometimes use their connections to get certain favours such as clients and contracts. They will just need to attend board meeting that hold once in 2 months. Note that during board meeting, some may have to travel down.

The calibre of people include former university VCs, high ranking civil/public servants, business executives, military officials, senior advocates of Nigeria and traditional rulers.

What should their remuneration be like considering the fact that they are already wealthy and well-to-do people and this job won't interfere with their normal daily activities except for the meeting once in 2 months and few emails and phone calls.

It's a must you employ a licensed pharmacist in a pharmacy to avoid PCN troubles. I studied computer science, so Professionally I am not a pharmacist but I am familiar with 99% of drugs and can tell you how they are mixed and how they works and the effects of them bcoz the pharmacy I managed before for more than 6years is owned by my aunty. Ignorance is ur problem. I've seen some people under serious intensive medical care who died afterward. Yet some, under same care unit, survived. I've seen one who took Amala drug for malaria and had her body metamophosed into different textures (another complication). Yet some people took same drug and get well.

It's also possible that the drug worksl for both. This is because there are physiological and biochemical variations in some people. If u want to use the few times doctors treatment fails against them then we should also use the numerous times your God fails to heals people against him. Upon all the faith and prayer, he will still live his children to die. Why wasn't God healing malaria before the advent of antimalarial drugs.

Even amputees, your God can't heal them but when medicine finds out a way to grow back a limb, you will say your God should take glory for another man's work.

let me ask you. If u own a business, will u pay ur cleaner N65000. If u do so, what do u think will happen to ur products and services. The prices will increase. If everyone in the country is made to pay minimum wage, prices of goods and services increase, and when everybody earns such high minimum wage, they end up paying more for those goods and services causing inflation and crashed in naira value. This increase will not help matters, at the end of everything, the price hike will cancel out the increase, when minimum wage is N10000, rice was N100 per cup, if that wage is increased to N1million, rice will increase to N10000 per cup, what's the difference, nothing.

anyone that understands secondary school economics will know this is a futile mission. Firstly, the government can't afford it, secondly, Increasing the minimum wage will lead to inflation and a reduction in the value of naira.For example, if u were buying a cup of garri at N100 when minimum wage is N10000, then u should be ready to buy that cup at N1000 if the minimum wage is increased to N100000. Everything will cancel out each other, there will be no advantages, only numerous disadvantages.

What they should clamour for instead is the increase in the value of the natural such that even the wage is reduces to N10000, that N10000 will be able to buy what N100000 could buy before.

And again, it will do nothing more than increasing our recurrent expenditure.

Good talk from the ministry of health. They couldn't score high in wassce, jamb and post ume, they couldn't spend 6 years in school without holidays, they couldn't go through the stress of medical school causing some of them to fail out, but now they want to earn the same salary as doctors. Useless people, where in the world is that done. If they want to earn like doctors, then let go and lick jamb form and study hard.

If they like, let them strike for 2000 years, it's the patients that are supporting them that will still suffer, even they themselves will suffer, doctors will take care of their health and the health of their family and open private practice where they will provide lab services and sell drugs. Nigerian pharmacists. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. Their are so incompetent to the extent that all they can do is dispense drugs that were made in China and India. Their mates abroad are manufacturing and doing ground-breaking research, they are here dragging salary and title with doctors. For those that will come and mention emzor and orange, note that more than 90% of our drugs are imported, they are made abroad and marketed by Nigerian companies. Check most of your drug packaging and you'll see it, made by ****** in India, marketed by ***** in Nigeria.

Outside the hospital setting, pharmacists can earn equal or even more than doctors but certainly not in the hospital setting. It's the same all over the world, show me any country where doctors and pharmacists earn the same salary. They should rather compare themselves to nurses and lab scientists. If they want to work in the hospital and earn like doctors, then they should take the next jamb form.

If they like, let them strike for 500 years, it will never happen. Anyone that can read can do the job our pharmacists do in our teaching hospitals, even ssce holder. Just read what the doctor wrote, and bring it off the shelf.

Nonsense! I'm in the best profession man! I'll choose pharmacy over medicine anytime any day! Mind you, I have no interest in hospital pharmacy but the truth has to be stated regardless of our personal interests. I don't want to depend on the paltry sum government pays as salaries. I prefer to rake in millions as profit from batches of products i send to the market. I also prefer pharmacy because it will enable me create more employment opportunities for others and as such make far reaching impact into the lives of others. Same cannot be said of medicine

Nigerian medical doctors are the most stupid and arrogant foolls i have ever known. Imagine the sort of excuses they give for perpetrating all manner of injustices against other health workers Number of years spent in school, sitting for 2nd mbbs exams, reading anatomy, physiology and biochemistry textbooks(as if they are the only ones that read those courses). Should those silly excuses be a reason to pay you higher wages than other health workers As if others don't read and write exams in their own professions. Some of you forget that those studying other healthcare professional courses write semester exams that are equivalent to 2nd mbbs every semester! While you write your 2nd mbbs every 2yrs. You also forget that courses like pharmacy, optometry, radiography, physiotherapy are also 6yrs programmes, and that students of those courses also write tough exams every semester.

I don't blame you people! I blame the government that has refused to checkmate your excesses in the Nigerian health sector. Fools that have turned our hospitals to death traps. The blood of innocent Nigerians you have killed will continue to hunt you nigerian medical doctors and your families.

so you want doctors and other health workers to take him the same salary. If na so e pain u, know that there is no shortcut in life, it's never too late to read medicine. Better go and buy jamb form and study hard
