In some companies owned by Christians, they make it compulsory for all emplpyees (Christians or not) to engage in morning prayers, and if you refuse to join because you're not a Christian, they can sack you for insubordination.

Why don't you try Chaurasia for gross anatomy. Don't know why people don't like it, you just need to complement it with soft copy of Keith Moore just for clinical correlates only. Guyton is okay, would be nice if you combine it with sembuligam. I used Saddler for embryology.

Do you realise that being a praying Christian brings about the kind of therapy that even a Professor of Psychology or therapist can't give? It gives hope. It gives happiness. It gives contentment. It gives peace of mind. Its unburdening and surreal.

Nigerians don't pay tax, yet we get everything for almost free, that's why oil price will fall and lecturers will b owed salary, what's d correlation between oil price and lecturers. Only in Nigeria u will c a local government council that can't generate up to N400k monthly will b paying salary of N10million. People that don't pay tax will b charged N50k yearly for medical education in university and will still b complaining, imagine, even Ghana charges far more.

It's either Nigerians accept cheap and low quality social services or expensive and high quality ones.

If I become president, I will run universities like private institutions, income must be more than expenditure. Then all the money currently been wasted on universities will be used to offer free, compulsory , high quality primary education. Junior secondary education will not b free, but will b cheap cos it will be subsidized. From then upwards, u pay the cost for ur education. University is not for everyone, even in the US, 70% of their adult population are not university educated.

Same for healthcare, if u don't want to pay d real cost of healthcare, then take health insurance or u jump into d lagoon.

oga, I never said if MBBS looses accreditation, BDS must loose as well. I said if a school looses accreditation at a stage where both MBBS and BDS students share, it will affect both. For example, if a school looses preclinical accreditation, it will affect both MBBS and BDS cause they have similar requirements at that stage. It will be difficult for BDS to loose accreditation at preclinical stage without it affecting MBBS.

I finished from uniben. school of medicine lost accreditation and tests were ongoing.. Dentistry was still accredited but they couldnt continue cos their master lost accreditation. Dental students protested but to no avail. They had to succumb and join medical students in protesting against the school managements. Too bad for dentist. One question. the same council responsible for medicine accreditation is also responsible for dentistry. Mbbs and bds do same courses for the first years of their programmes, so if MBBS lost accreditation because of those, BDS will also loose accreditation.
Google vacancies for CMDs of Nigerian teaching hospitals, you'll see the qualifications that candidates most be medical or dental practitioners with MBBS/BDS and a fellow of a postgraduate Medical College. Both doctors and dentists can be admitted to be fellow of West African college of surgeons and physicians. Even in civil service, both are on CONMESS.
Pls, we MBBS and BDS holders are one.

optometrist are not under the umbrella of nma.. They are an independent organisation. Optometrist chose johesu over nma. Dentists in nma are like "boy boy" to general practitioners.. Optometrists didn't want that. I think what fg meant by tasking optometrist to reduce blindness is for optometrists to create more awareness for PREVENTABLE AND AVIODABLE causes of blindness and to impede the progress of blindness through diagnostic techniques and examination.

My point is ministry of health is under the leadership of an nma member. For an nma member to recognize optometrists as the first line of defense against ocular issues (e. g blindness) is surprising.


Some Optometrists outside Nigeria are licensed to carry out simple procedures or operations that don't go beyond the anterior part of the eye. But you know, nma have fought relentlessly for that not to happen in Nigeria. Optometrists are supposed to be in FRSC to test drivers before they are given drivers license but nma and some bad eggs in optometry hijacked it..


There is currently a brain drain towards the Middle East. Go to LinkedIn and search for optometrist with Nigerian names..you will see that most are working in the Middle East.
