I wonder why Nigeria is the ONLY country that verbally keeps trying to reinvent itself albeit unsuccessfully with different qualifiers like One Nigeria, New Nigeria, etc. First of all, if Nigeria is ever "ONE," there would be absolutely NO reason to use such a fake and moronic qualifier, "ONE!" Have you ever heard a Ghanaian or a Togolese use such lofty terms to talk about their country? They do NOT have to because they are really one country united and bound by shared common values, cultures, and ideologies. Secondly, as for "NEW," there's nothing new or different about Nigeria from decades ago after "Flag independent" until now. Rather, it had gotten worse. In all honesty, could you say that your life is better now than it was 8 or 10 years ago? I do NOT think so. So, it's a misnomer for politicians to use such a qualifier, "NEW," as if to say they intend to bring positive changes. When in reality, they are simply rehashing and recycling mere rhetorics without substance.

It's apparent that the Fulanis are only interested in power and NOT building a decent and progressive society. The joy of having power and the allure it brings is what appeals to them and not doing something positive with it. If not, how can a region be decimated by its internal contradictions and carry on as if the region is moving forward? In the face of looming danger, what you see is a deafening silence especially from those who benefit from it since power resides with their so-called elites who are completely dependent on the public treasury for their survival. The poor amongst them too are elated by the fact that power is in the hands of their elites even if they will die of poverty and insurgency. This mindset will definitely lead the indigenous ethnic groups and others, IPOB and Yoruba Nation agitators, to seek to leave the union. It's one thing to retard your own progress but it's foolhardy to do the same to those of others and expect an accolade. It's only a matter of time NOT if and this pressure cooker that's Nigeria would explode to smithereens.
