At first, you made it seem as if he increased the numbers of commissioners or as if Enugu's own is way too much in comparable to other states. if this commissioners would make him perform why not we allow him. We Should try to then monitor these commissioners henceforth
I'm just interested in knowing education, health, works and hopefully water resources commissioners.

They are not the same thing, bro.

I know many igbos who attend military and federal government colleges in the north, no-one treated them differently because they were Igbo.

One of my good friends attended the Nigerian Military School in Zaria and never had any problems there.

On the other hand i know many black people who attended white elite schools in the US and the UK that had serious problems simply because of the colour of their skin.
The point is that racism is there but exaggerated like the Op said. I have lived in both countries so I know.

You are totally clueless - tribalism and racism are not the same thing.

I've never heard of anyone in Nigeria being denied access to education, housing and jobs simply because they are from a different ethnic group from the ethnic group that is in power.

In the US blacks are systematically excluded and marginalised by the system of white supremacy and this has been proven with facts and figures.

Also the US imprisons more black men than any country in the world including South Africa when it was under apartheid rule.
They are the same thing bro. I have been denied school in Ife based on catchment area.
Also try being an igbo man looking for a house in lagos. U will told they don't want omo igbo.
I was told this when looking for a shop in yaba.
Tell me why Nigerians excel in America while their black americans do not

You do not understand anything about the US and its history, how can you say racism is exaggerated when 9 black people just got murdered in a church in South Carolina by a white gunman less than a month ago.
African Americans and Africans who actually live in the US are better placed to tell you about how racist the US is. Have you worked or lived there? If the answer is no you are not qualified to give an opinion on how racist it is based on a short vacation.
I would rather take the word of an African American who has lived their whole life rather than a Nigerian who just spent a couple of weeks on vacation there. Ever heard of Fox News? its one of the most racist news channels on American TV and panders to a racist right wing audience, it portrays Africans as primitive and backward and African Americans as thugs and criminals but it has one of the highest viewing figures in the US because the majority of white americans and non white ones for that matter are racist:

He is right about racism. Very right sef
You have a far greater chance to be discrimated against based on your origin in Nigeria than in America

From my experience, Igbos in Southeast are way smarter, very hardworking, well cultured and accademically brilliant than igbos living in Abuja or Lagos. I have always adviced friends who want to improve their kids academic performance to send them to boarding school in East.

Why do igbos abroad prefer marrying from South East than Abroad or Abuja? Did innoson learn his vehicle manufacturing in Lagos?

Bro believe it or not you are more like a subhuman when compared with those dudes living in Southeast,if you doubt me challange them academically.
We are talking about modernity and not smartness and or hardwork.
Only the banking sector has any inclination to modernity and adopting technogy therby making tasks and processes easier.

From saying people don't live in the rural areas, you shifted position to more people live in the capital, that was also proven to be false, now you've moved to population density. Like I said, you would soon expose that bigotry you are hiding behind failed logic like your colleague did. I don't know why you keep mentioning that imaginary situation where the govt has to choose, they don't have to choose anything, I insist that Ugwuanyi cannot work on only Emene and Abakpa roads for the next 4 years, he must be able to uplift a good number of roads in the rural areas of Enugu. The reason why Lagos is a model state today is today is because development is spread across the length and breadth of the state.
Ugwuanyi has said he will focus on Enugu, Nsukka and Ninthmile which in my opinion is the way to go rather than promising to develop every village

Where did you discuss the government wanting people to urbanize? Everywhere governments try to reduce rural - urban migration by trying to provide basic social amenities that make rural areas more conducive for living. What you wrote is completely wrong.
Serious govts encourage urbanization. Nigeria being a clueless third world country will rather let things remain rural because of their mental shortcoming. No developed country has a higher rural dwelling. even chinese rural urban migration is at lightning speed and they keep up by building new cities.

The population of Enugu city is around 700 000, that is less than 20% of Enugu state's 4 million population, so the earlier you accept that your population theory does not hold watter, the better. Besides, repairing the few remaining bad roads in Enugu does not the govt him from constructing/repairing roads other places.
The population theory holds water.Enugu city has the most population density. The major reason why goverments want people to urbanize is so that development can be focused.

I completely agree with you.

Less than 20% of the population of Enugu State reside in Enugu city. By sheer numbers, that's a 4:1 victory for rural areas.

Moreso, we've taken a detour from the 90's model of development. Rural-Urban migration was such a big deal it was taught in schools. Rural dwellers were being encouraged to remain in rural areas, and concerted efforts made to keep them comfortable: rural electrification, potable water, health care infrastructure etc. Somewhere along the line, we adopted a strange, untested model of development : everyone ran off to big cities forever in search of the elusive golden fleece. Government neglect of the rural areas further entrenched this newfound model.

The model being advocated by biafrandream can only work in Lagos because it already is a conurbation of sorts, but not in Enugu with a large population in rural areas. I know what a relief the Nike-Opi Highway has turned out to be. And the offshoot from Ugwuogo-Nike to Isi Uzo has been another blessing to people of the area.

ENSG needs to replicate Udi in all the other 16 LGAs. The Udi model of rural development is where I stand.
The bolded is only wishful thinking. Chime used state funds to develop Udi his home town. Are you saying ENSG should use state money to develop every town to Udi standard? is this feasible?

Are you one of those that just sit in an armchair faraway and make conclusions? Do you think Enugu has more population than all the rural areas put together? Nsukka alone will give Enugu a good run for her money in terms of population and the people who live there also deserve a comfortable life. What about the agricultural products that come from the rural areas? Going by your reasoning, the governor can even start demolishing already good roads in Enugu and rebuilding them rather than build or repair anyone in the rural areas.
The man said he agrees that Nsukka should be worked on.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Unemadu: 4:26am On Jun 29, 2015
biafrandream:
I agree that he should also work on Nsukka zone. As for rural roads, it's a waste of resources sinking billions of naira to build roads where few people live while the urban roads that cater for heavy traffics on daily basis are dilapidated.

How many of those who want rural roads to be tarred at the expense of the more useful urban roads actually live in the village or are ready to relocate to the village even if all the roads there get tarred. Nonetheless some selected rural roads that are not motorable should be built to ease transportation of farm produce to urban centres.

We should put our priorities right to avoid economic waste, especially now that people are paying taxes. The resources available to the state government is very limited and this is where prioritizing government projects and expenses comes handy.
I agree with you and I also said this here. Its also good that the governor singled out Enugu, Nsukka and Ninth mile to focus on. Is it not silly that people forget that the local govt exists? some LGA Chairmen actually try to do something but they should be made more accountable.
The state cannot do it all.

Bro thanks for clearing things up but let be mindful of the kind of people we allow to invest in Igboland. I am not confortable with this attitude of allowing a once bush tribe(and less educated too) the fulanis, from the far north to take up all the important companies in the South. What is going on? What is Alhaji Indimi from far north doing in Imo state. Why must the north own oil companies? Do they produce oil

Father Ejike Mbaka is currently building a multi billion naira farm in my village Nkerefi in Nkanu east LGA. I went there yesterday. They are currently building 10 fish ponds, 4 massive poultry farms with 3 already completed, 4 massive shelter for pigs with 2 completed. Wow! this is surely the biggest investment in agriculture east of the niger. There are many foreign cows, goats and pigs in the farm. The chicken are more than 2,000. I don't know the exact figure of the goats, cows and pigs. Each fish pond is bigger than a football field. I am typing with a phone that has a faulty camera, so I Did not bother to take pictures. This is the biggest investment in agriculture I have ever seen. I wonder why there is no media hype about it. He told my community that he needs more lands because he wants to build a university. We have given him lands that if combined is between 1800-2500 hectres of land..
I KNOW MANY DOUBTING THOMASES WILL SAY I AM LYING. SPYDER880 IS FROM NOMEH NOT VERY FAR FROM MY VILLAGE. HE CAN CONFIRM IT OR CALL HIS NKEREFI FRIENDS TO CONFIRM. When next I travel to my village, I promise to provide picture evidence. Spyder can also drive to Nkerefi to confirm. Serious work is going on there. If you doubt travel to Nkerefi and ask of Mbaka farm. I promise you that the first thing you saw is wow! wow! Wow!
No pics? Ok faulty camera.... Well this is very much commendable especially as its coming from an individual and not from the govt. I hope to make my own contribution the the developement of my state someday.

You have to start somewhere....Look at Anambra for example investing big in agriculture which will trigger economic boom and along the line they might decide to divert their economy to something else. Stop making silly excuses why Chime neglected agriculture. ENUGU state has no other means to grow their economy other than through agriculture.

Beautiful state is all you and your folks dream of but you don't wanna hatch the idea of how such will come by.
Chime invested in agriculture more than Obi, at least there are pics to back it up.

That's because we do not practice advanced agriculture. We simply sell raw materials.

You don't grow rich selling palm nuts but you can be richer selling palm oil in addition.
Same goes for crude oil and petroleum/kerosene.
So, if we begin to process our agricultural proceeds ( eg cocoa to chocolate, corn to corn flour, paddy to processed rice, all for export), the economy will be richer.
Think of the service industries they will attract and the multiplier effects.
Enugu rural areas should embark on mechanized agriculture . That's even the most ready developmental strategy or do you have any contrary opinions as to how we should utilize the vast lands and available work force? .
Exactly fmr gov did the right thing with the san carlos business model even though im not happy it's just for export, but its a good start. Others should be motivated to start similar projects. Nsukka and ninth mile can easily be huge processing zones and thats why im happy the new gov is focusing on them

The most agrarian and rural states are actually the poorest even in Nigeria. Thats what u should ponder on. Ultimately you need less people in agriculture and more in other sectors to really develop.

Few points about malaysia

Agriculture is now a minor sector of the Malaysian economy, accounting for 7.1% of Malaysia's GDP in 2014 and employing 11.1% of Malaysia's labour force, contrasting with the 1960s when agriculture accounted for 37% of Malaysia's GDP and employed 66.2% of the labour force. The crops grown by the agricultural sector has also significantly shifted from food crops like paddy and coconut to industrial crops like palm oil and rubber, which in 2005 contributed to 83.7% of total agricultural land use, compared to 68.5% in 1960.[71

In the 1970s, the predominantly mining and agricultural-based economy began a transition towards a more multi-sector economy. Since the 1980s, the industrial sector, with a high level of investment, has led the country's growth

The population in concentrated on Peninsular Malaysia[198] where 20 million of approximately 28 million Malaysians live.[3] 70 per cent of the population is urban
