PoliticsRe: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by Unemadu: 4:25pm On Jun 05, 2015

I would like to see a situation whereby Anambra and the south-east in general decouple their Economy from the Economy of the rest of the country. That way we can grow at a faster pace, create more jobs, schools, Health-care centres etc. . . Why is there only two universities in Anambra at the moment? Why don't we have free Health-care and education? Why don't we have social security for old retired people in the village? These things are lacking and need to be looked into to raise the humman developement index.
I like the social security for the elderly part.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Unemadu: 4:31am On Jun 03, 2015
Developing the rural areas as noble as it might seem will remain a pipe dream for the forseable future as Enugu state does not have the finaces to carryout such. I'd rather support development of urban centers as these will generate the income required to develope the rural areas. I believe our gov is right in placing his priorities on the urban centers of Enugu and Nsuka and industrial ninthmile.

This is not what we want you to say, he only made his view.
Must u sound like this everytime, you always like to incite division.

The 3,4,5 and 6 storey buildings are seen everywhere in Igboland not only in Onitsha and Enugu. It's seen in Aba, Owerri, Orlu, Umuahia, Abakiliki, Nnewi, Okigwe, Nsukka, Afikpo, Awka, Ohaofia, Mgbidi, Ekwurobia, Orji-river, Oyi Igbo and even in PH.

If you have problem with Abagworo settle it within yourselves, stop looking for a chance to downgrade the respect of the young man on a public forums like this. It's inhumane.
For once i will agree with oneeast. That man abagworo deserves no single respect. You should see his comments on the thread on igbo relationship with neigbors. That guy has dual personality issues.

You do not negotiate from a position of weakness. For now the igbo nation is weak.
We have to look inward and subtly act as if Nigeria does not exit and work towards development and self sustainance.

Economics!!!!

You site your business closest to your market to take out the cost of transportation and also to be close to then so as to get first hand feedback.

Does the East have the market to sell the business and services they provide to? That is the deciding factor.

If everyone moves back to the east, you will have a cluster and no one to buy them so it is not good.
Do you see japanese outside japan? Or Germans.
Has that stoped them from exporting their goods?

I wonder if property owners pay taxes in Enugu. Also more formal retail trade should be encouraged to generate more sales tax.

The igbos have pushed their luck calling my ancessteral home a no man land...what insolence.
And how will an igbo person not being in cabinet affect the average igbo person.
That position will only affect the person and his family so chill ok.

PoliticsRe: No Man's Land - Critical Agenda For All House Of Assemblies In The SW Nigeria by Unemadu: 3:09am On Apr 09, 2015
Sloan:
With the recent uproar caused by the assertion of the Oba of Lagos over his domain in Lagos, Yorubaland and the response of the ungrateful guests in our lands, I think it is now very germane that the legislatures in all State of Assemblies in the South West Region begin to make laws that will protect the land and heritage of its people. For so long, the Yorubas have been too good for themselves and except we take a hard stance now and draw the line NOW, things will only get more heated as the ungrateful guests from eastern Nigeria have now resorted to insults to perhaps their most hospitable hosts in Nigeria.

This thread is not to rehash what has been discussed or known but to start a conversation that must reach to the highest levels of governments in our regions to enact legislation and laws that prohibit and ultimately forestall the proliferation of locusts in our lands. I will propose some ideas, feel free to add yours and forward to our leaders! If you have links and connections to those that need to see this, please do so ASAP:

1. Land MUST NEVER BE SOLD directly to a NON-Yoruba again! The first step is to stop immediately the signing of C of O's for applicants who cannot prove that they are Yoruba and trace there roots down to their father's compound anywhere in the South West.

2. In the event it becomes mandatory that a business interest requires land to setup a business and applies to the government, land of definite sizes must be allocated and LEASED for terms varying from 5, 10 or maximum of 25 years ONLY!

3. Every land that has been sold in the past without C of O's or expired C of Os anywhere in the geographic South West must be immediately revoked.

4. Henceforth, strict terms of tenancy must be enacted and enforced for all non-Yorubas such that tenants cannot resort to cheating their landlords with late payments, non-payments or unnecessary distractions by way of court cases.

5. Immediate agenda that establishes the communication in Yoruba 100% in every legislative function of the State House of Assemblies in the SW.

6. More coming...add yours!
Unfortunately for nonentities like you Lagos state stated categorically that they will have nothing to do with western region as suggested at the last conference.

What do you have to say about that?
PoliticsRe: Election: Ondo Live Update For Presidential Results. by Unemadu: 1:23am On Mar 30, 2015
dustmalik:
To be honest, I'm not too optimistic anymore. Look at what is happening in Rivers state, yet Inec are insisting that elections were well conducted over there, and that they have no evidence to the contrary.

Also, look at the figures coming out from the core Northern states where GMB is suppose to have massive upturn, they have been very low. Like someone said earlier, the South East were allowed to use manual accreditation, while it would seem the North were only allowed use to Card reader.

So if you ask me, things aren't really going well for GMB, and it's disheartening.
The north has a history of inflation of population figures plus under age voters.

The ss/se has a history of high tournout
PoliticsRe: Election: Ondo Live Update For Presidential Results. by Unemadu: 1:18am On Mar 30, 2015
obailala:
I must confess, the silence of the SS and SE in the result collation is too deafening. I never expected the PDP to go down without a fight, even if it's a very dirty fight. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a 95% voters turnout in the SE & SS and I also wouldnt be surprised if the PDP takes 97% of the votes in these 2 regions. The PDP is very desperate right now and are ready to do and undo.
Hahahahah. U should look at history. Se/ss has always had bigger tournout than most regions esp SW. Nobe today, just check

I am tired of people treating Lagos as if its bread and butter. Lagos advantage is the result infrastructures built by federal government. That advantage has served it well. I am not against investing outside igboland but a smart igbo man will never put their eggs in one basket. They will always remember home. Case closed.

Ikengawo please study the Inland city of Chongqing, china. It is a city by the river just like onitsha. I am sure many people have never heard of it but it is the biggest city In china. Just like river niger passes the city, the Yangtze river passes the city. Another mindblowing fact is that It is the detroit of china with heavy industry and auto manufacturing. This is what onitsha can/will become once infrastructure and electricity is in place.
You have just ignored one limiting factor "the FG"

To build the towers i'm speaking us we need to be making steel, iron, copper, and glass, at industrial capacity. If you build the quality these business men and most igbos demand, they will come. they all want to develop their homeland it's just not always the most profitable place to be and we have to meet then half way.
Yes and thats why i said they are business men because they will invest where is most profitable thats why they need stimulus.

Even igbo owned banks are headquartered in freaking Lagos WTF.

My borther poolling large money won't work because some people will embezzle while others will be acting to smart to pool. The best thing is for a movement called Igbo Renaissance, they need to get these runaway bigmen and talk sense into them, crime is no more in East yet they don't want to come back, infact I don't even know why we don't believe in ours
Individuality will make the process too slow

Remeber that these so called bigmen are just businessmen

Sometimes u need to stimulate the economy to grow

Example is if u have like 4 coal power plants of 1000 mw each, do u know the kind of Skilled to unskilled labour it will attract?

Or if u have a large steel complex.... Only govt can do that to stimulate the economy
