I apologize in advance for my digression. I am really getting fustrated. How do I get Seun or Nairaland admin attention? I made payment into Seun's account two months ago to place my advert on Nairaland after the advert was approved. Evidence of payment was immediately sent to the email i was advised to respond to. What baffles me is that till this moment, I have not received an email acknowledging payment not to mention having my advert posted. Is it that no one monitors payment made into Seun account or that the email address is dormant? I have sent several reminders to no avail. Can anyone assist? Thanks.

NYSC / Re: Your NYSC Years Is The Best Time To Experiment & Succeed In Agric Bizness by UniqueFarmer: 8:17pm On Sep 18, 2016
Absolutely agree, which is why you need to equip yourself with the right knowledge before you start. Try the daily tips on Agric and share your experience so others can learn.
NYSC / Your NYSC Years Is The Best Time To Experiment & Succeed In Agric Bizness by UniqueFarmer: 1:34pm On Sep 17, 2016
Having gone through NYSC at a young age (24 years), i still look back with longing at those wasted time i felt NYSC was all about serving my fatherland in a drudgery job in a far-away location, chilling with friends & day-dreaming about when i will start earning the big bucks in paid employment. Now i know better!

Your NYSC year could be very rewarding for you if you take the time to learn about an agric business to start on a small scale during your NYSC years. During this period, you can experiment and learn. The knowledge you gain will help a great deal if you decide to go into this business full time or continue the business as another income stream while working full time.

From experience, i have learnt Agric business can be rewarding and self-gratifying - there is a heartfelt joy that comes from knowing you are responsible for feeding families. However, it can also be precarious especially for new-comers. You can easily lose all your investment in one wrong move if you are not well prepared in your area of agric business before investing your hard earned cash. Knowledge they say is POWER. I would recommend Corpers interested in Agric business become regular readers of forums like this, download e-books on their area of interest in Agric (most of these are free on the internet), visit farms and opt for internship whenever such opportunity is available. Doing all this will ensure they are well prepared for all the risks that will definitely present itself when starting an agric business for the 1st time.

I would also recommend subscribing to daily poultry content from reputable Content Providers that you can receive on your phone. This gives you residual information on your agricultural subject at your convenience. If you are on the Etisalat network, you can get the following content FREE of charge for 7 days and opt-out at anytime if you are not satisfied with the information provided. However, i assure you the information provided are well researched and collated from experienced farmers in that field.

Agriculture / Re: Dwarf Plantian sucker and dwarf banana sucker is available. by UniqueFarmer: 12:58pm On Sep 17, 2016
I experimented with plantain farming on two plots of land i acquired for that purpose. It was a breathtaking success story for me and i am sharing my experience to help others interested in this same venture.

1. Where you get your suckers is vital to your success as the quality of your suckers will determine the quality of your harvest. I got my suckers from IITA Ibadan and even used their recommended handymen for the planting. The results were big and luscious plantain that attracted good market price and made buyers preferred my plantain over other suppliers (buyers testimony). I used the handymen for the planting because i was a plain novice in farming generally and also worked full time so had no time to supervise.

2. Constant clearing of the farm land to protect the young suckers from weed and unwanted grass helped ensure the suckers had sufficient air and space to grow well.

3. Use of poultry manure as fertilizer to help the suckers grow sufficiently. I have a poultry farm so sourcing poultry manure was pretty easy. The effect on the plantain was simply amazing. They blossom like a fattening cow.

4. I subscribed to daily plantain tips from a reputable Telecommunication provider, if you must know Etisalat. The daily content made it easy for me to follow on best practices by other farmers, diseases i need to watch out for and take learning from other farmers. As a novice and not being on ground to see how the plantain was evolving, (i only visit the farm once in a month), the daily tips was a life saver.

I would recommend the tips to others just like me who are interested in creating new revenue streams in Agriculture and would like to do it in a secured and prepared manner. On Etisalat network,
