All I am asking for is a third party view after all we all here are family.. Guy I'd suggest you take him to the federal staff hospital Jabi Abuja. I don't think he can do the Lagos Journey in that state. Is that bed sore?? It looks infected already the gangrene would be everywhere in his blood and will cause him to keep sleeping and then coma and..... god forbid. |

I was born in the late 80s. But I'm quite sure that the army used rifles that looked like that. My uncle was in the NA and I saw a number of his pictures growing up. In some of them he was caring rifles that looked like that. If that is the rifle we can say to a large extent that the NPF just started buying their own arms in the early 2000s bidexiii: I think i can still remember NPF using : British Enfield No. 1 Mk. III* rifle (.303 British) or something similar while growing has a kid in the 80's then. In those days NPF wear well starched and ironed green-grey uniform for both officers and "recuites"
Unfortunately, during the inglorious regime of Presidential Ibrahim Babangida and under the watch of the then Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji M. Gambo Jimeta, the colour of the Police uniforms were changed from the revered green-grey colour to black-black on the 4th April, 1988. Many critics had argued over the years that this singular act really affected the efficiencies of the Police Force. |

bros the NPF did not make use of bolt action rifles in the 80s and 90s although they made use of some old rifles that looked like that. They made use of the Beretta M-12 SMG, Korean k2 rifle, FNC, Sig assult rifle, PTR91, G-3, Pump action rifle. The problems they had was that those weapons were old and insufficient (both arms and ammunition). Back then you would see the police man armed with a k2 rifle that is being held together with brown tape. The butt of some of this rifle has fallen off. Infact you would see some of the magazines being held together with sellotape. Those were common sights back then until Tafa BAlogun came into office and the first set of Ak-47s (the complete black ones) were introduced. Infact back then some of these rifles were not working at all. The rifles being used by the police force were said to have been passed on to them from the army. The NCS also faced the problem of OLD G3 rifels. The first set of Ak rifels used by the NA was delivered to them durning the civil war from russia. The AK 47 has been in the inventory of the NA every since then with supplies coming in. Although the FN-FAL has been the standard issue for the infantry. The civil defence corp has been buying their arms from the start but have been complimenting it with FN-FAL and G3 from the army. Pls not that the NSCDC bought AK-47s at first but has been been receiving AK-103(complete black). doziex: Until about 10-15 years ago, NPF used WW2 era bolt action rifles. They have since graduated to AK-47s, as they were being routinely outgunned by armed robbers.
NA for it's part is transitioning from the FN-FAL to the various AK's, Tavors, Beryls and what have you.
The FN-FALs and some older AK's seem to be going to the civil defense force. Which if trained properly, can morph into a proper reserve service to assist our armed forces.
The civilian JTF are now receiving uniforms and are being incorporated into our security infrastructure. They should be given those ex NPF bolt action rifles, to be more effective.
Also, captured BHT AKs should be given to their squad commanders.
The Nigerian armed forces and intelligence services should now be experts at selecting promising candidates from the CDC and the CJTF.
The same should apply to ex niger delta militants that have surrendered their arms and gone thru demobilization and rehabilitation courses. Some ex militants, used to be employed in pipeline protection and anti bunkering activities.
Rather than having them return to their old habits, they should be incorporated into CDC and CJTF type units to assist the army. They are rich in necessary intelligence, knowledge of the battle space and combat experience.
Of course, it must be stipulated, that betrayal of their new formations would attract a court martial, and the firing squad. |

Kizmilz: Satisfied? Satisfied? Oga you've passed the aspect of dressing. Make sure you speak well. You don't get to be asked what you know about the company in most interviews today. You'd be asked to tell them about yourself, your strength and weaknesses, why you want the job, why you think you're the suitable candidate/applicant for the job, the amount you are willing to take etc. My advice, be honest in all your answers. All the best bro |
