Former Minister of Education has been gathering supports on her "Red Card Project to APC and PDP" especially on Social Media, but to me, I feel the project will not really achieve much even if a new party wins the 2019 general election.

Political parties without politicians are nothing, we have many parties we don't even know of their existence. If another party that is not APC or PDP wins the presidential election in 2019, we will surely see a massive defection of APC and PDP politicians to the new party. At the end, the same set of politicians that have been destroying the country will find their way back to government, just like we witnessed the defection of PDP members to APC.

To me, we should be clamoring for a bill that will ban politicians from cross-carpeting. If the bill succeeds, every politician will have to stick to a political party that has an ideology he/she can share with. With the issue of "Freedom of Association", the bill can be made in a way that there will be a "Defection Window" which must be before any general election and one can defect just once in a long period of time say 8 to 10 years (this will prevent politicians defecting every election season).

With this, even if the party is having internal crises, the members of the party will be forced to put heads together and resolve the crises instead of what we are witnessing currently, It will also reduce the AGIP (Any Government In Power) politics some politicians play.
