Politics / Members Of Armed Forces Involved In Election Rigging Deserve No Honor - Wike by Upritman(m): 8:07pm On Jan 12, 2020
Bittertruth Media

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has described members of the Nigerian Armed Forces engaged in the snatching of ballot boxes and rigging of elections as non-deserving of honour.

The governor stated this while speaking during an inter-denominational Church Service marking the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration at the Saint Peter's Anglican Church, Rumuepirikom on Sunday.

Gov.Wike declared that Heaven and Nigerians will never honour those who allow themselves to be used for elections rigging.

A statement by Wike's special assistance on electronic media, Mr.Simeon Nwakaudu quotes the governor as saying;

"We are not honouring those who are unprofessional and carry ballot boxes to influence the electoral process.

"I urge members of the Armed Forces to choose the right path in the interest of the country. It is unfortunate that the military has lost its integrity because of some unprofessional personnel. Nobody is afraid of the military because of their unprofessional conduct.

"Those who come to rig election or kill Rivers people, Heaven will never remember them."

He added that the admission by INEC Chairman that security agencies were responsible for the electoral malpractices that marred the last elections was a direct vindication of his earlier position.

"I thank God that the chairman of INEC has owned up that the problem with elections are the security agencies. This confirms all I have said in the past," he said.

He, however, praised the Armed Forces for the roles they have played in preserving the unity of the country.

"But for them, kidnappers, cultists, insurgents and armed robbers would have taken over the country ", he said.

Highlight of the event was the offering of prayers for the fallen heroes and God's blessing upon their families, offering of prayers for the Government and people of Rivers State, the Federal Government and the Armed Forces as well as praise and worship, with offering to support the Nigerian Legion.

Politics / Mbaka Is A Useless Piece Of Shit, Gov.ihedioha Face Your Work - Charly Boy by Upritman(m): 7:35am On Jan 09, 2020
Bittertruth Media

Popular and controversial Nigerian entertainer, Charles Oputa a.k.a Charly Boy has described fierce Catholic Priest, Rev.Fr.Ejike Mbaka as a "useless piece of shit".

The "Area Father" made this description of the Founder of Adoration Ministry when reacting to his recent political prophecy for the new year 2020 that the Imo State APC Governorship Candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma will take over from incumbent Governor Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP as the new governor of the state.

The political prophecy of the cleric who boasts that his prophecies never fail have been greeted with mixed reactions by Nigerians.

In a similar reaction, Charly Boy who obviously seems not to believe in the prophecy by the Catholic Priest, urged Gov.Ihedioha to remain focused and face his work in Imo State.

Charly Boy's reaction was contained in a short video he shared on this social media page.

Education / We Have Unbundled Mass Communication Into 7 Separate Courses -- NUC by Upritman(m): 6:41am On Jan 09, 2020
Bittertruth Media

National Universities Commission (NUC) has revealed that it has unbundled Mass Communication into seven separate degree programmes to meet present demand and this takes effect from 2020 admissions into Nigerian universities.

Bittertruth Media gathered that the seven new courses included Journalism & Media Studies, Public Relations, Advertising, Broadcasting, Film & Multi-Media Studies, Development Communication Studies, Information & Media Studies.

The new separate courses will be domiciled in a Faculty / School / College of Communication and Media Studies.

This was confirmed by NUC’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, while briefing newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday.

In his words: “We have almost concluded the unbundling of Mass Communication. At the end of first quarter of (2020), Mass Communication will not be existing as a stand-alone degree programme because it is too wide.

“We are unbundling the programme into seven different programmes: Bachelors Degrees in Public Relations, Marketing Communications, Media studies, Film Studies, Cinematography or Photography, Strategic Communication, and so many others.

“This is in line with trends all over the world. We will retain the Mass Communication for those universities that have not yet developed the full competencies in the areas.”

This move by the NUC followed the presentation of the new communication curricula by professors, professionals and practitioners of communication in Nigeria.

This approval has resulted in the emergence of seven degree-awarding programmes and the phasing out of the single BSc/BA Degree Programme in Mass Communication currently offered in different Faculties in different universities.

Politics / Gov.obaseki Is Clueless And Ignorant – Oshiomhole’s Ally by Upritman(m): 8:07am On Dec 27, 2019
An ally of Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo State, Mr. Henry Idahagbon, has described the state governor, Godwin Obaseki as clueless and ignorant.

Mr. Idahagbon said this while reacting to an allegation by Gov. Obaseki that a pro-Oshiomhole political group, the Edo Peoples Movement (EPM) and its members are frustrating his plans for Edo people and not members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).  Gov. Obaseki had also added that members of the group were behind the burning of major markets across the state.

However, Mr. Idahagbon said the movement no longer exist having achieved its purposes.

According to Him, Obaseki’s cluelessness made him not to know that the EPM was dissolved and buried on November 13, 2019.

Idahagbon, who is a former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of Edo State, said Obaseki lacked ideas on how to manage governance and political party.

He stated that EPM members were not arsonists that set markets on fire.

He said: “That statement from a clueless Governor is sad. If he needs idea on how to run government, he should come to us. To prevent fire in market places, he should buy fire trucks and resuscitate the moribund ones.

“Each market should have a fire truck and an industrial borehole. He collects N500m monthly as security votes.

He can buy many fire trucks from that money instead of going to Indonesia to sign worthless MOU.

“How can we go and put fire in the market when our mothers are selling there?”

Politics / I'm Worried That Nigerian Graduates Are Described As Unemployable -- Buhari by Upritman(m): 2:06pm On Dec 22, 2019
President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep worry at the description of Nigerian Graduates as "Unemployable".

The President expressed this concern while speaking at the 31st convocation of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo state, on Saturday.

Represented by Suleiman Yusuf, the deputy executive secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), President Buhari urged universities to live up to their mandate and ensure that their graduates are employable.

“In today’s globalised knowledge economy in which the wealth, strategic importance and ranking of any country in the comity of nations is determined largely by its knowledge economy index, my expectation is that our universities will use the instrumentality of their tripartite mandates of teaching, research and community engagement to launch Nigeria into an enviable position among nations of the world,” he said.

“In this regard, government expects Nigerian universities to produce graduates imbued with the requisite knowledge, competencies, attitudes, and skills to be active role players in our quest for socio-economic and technological development.

“I expect universities to pay serious attention to the less than complimentary assessment of the graduates of our universities by employers of labour. Definitely, we cannot be comfortable when products of our citadels of learning are being described as ‘unemployable’, exhibiting lack of job-readiness and so on.”

Speaking further the President asked universities to teach and train students on the requisite knowledge, competencies, attitudes, and skills needed to promote economic development in the country.

Politics / More Troubles For Rivers APC As Court Stops Rescheduled Congresses by Upritman(m): 5:38pm On Dec 20, 2019
The legal tussle characterising the crises facing the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is far from being over.

This follows a new restraining order from a State High Court in Port-Harcourt. The case was brought before the court by one Rt.Hon.Igo Aguma against the caretaker committee of the APC in Rivers State and the National Leadership of the party.

The new restraining order is coming few hours after the national headquarters of the APC had fixed new dates for the controversial congresses of the party in the state following a court court  which had struck out an earlier case filed by one Ibrahim Umar and 22 others.

Bittertruth Media recalls that the battle for the soul of the Rivers State APC which has refused to end is between Senator Magnus Abe and Rotimi Amaechi who lead different factions of the APC in the state.

It is unclear if the National Leadership of the APC will obey the restraining order issued this Friday or continue with its congress scheduled to begin tomorrow.

It may interest you to note that Rt.Hon.Igo Aguma, is a chieftain of the Rivers State APC and a former member of the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, some loyalists of the Senator Magnus Abe faction of the Rivers State APC have condemned with which the party is rushing to conduct the Congresses knowing their resolve to appeal the judgment. They insist that any Congress conducted when all the legal options have not been exhausted who be efforts in futility.

Politics / Ibrahim Umar And 22 Others Lose Bid To Stop Fresh APC Congresses In Rivers State by Upritman(m): 6:15pm On Dec 18, 2019
The crises rocking the Rivers State chapter of the APC may have come to an end as High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has struck out the originating summons brought by one Ibrahim Umar and twenty-two others against the party. To this end, the APC can go ahead to conduct its Ward Local Government and State Congresses in Rivers State.

Bittertruth Media recalls that the controversial suit filed by Ibrahim Umar and twenty-two others had denied the party a chance to participate in the 2019 general elections.

The court also set aside the interim injunction obtained by the claimants on the 14th September, 2019 which stopped the APC from conducting the congresses in Rivers State scheduled for 17th, 18th and 21st of last September.

Delivering the judgment, presiding Judge, Justice G.O Ollor ruled that the court lacked the power to enforce and interpret the judgment of the court of coordinate jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, counsel to the Claimants, Henry Bello has vowed to appeal the judgment based on the instruction of his clients.

It may interest you to note that the case was instituted by the faction of Rivers State APC loyal to a former governorship aspirant, Senator Magnus Abe against the faction led by Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

Politics / Again Gov.wike Knocks Amaechi, Narrates How Abe Missed The Chance To Become Gov. by Upritman(m): 9:30am On Dec 17, 2019
Bittertruth Media

Rivers State Governor, Chief Barr.Nyesom Wike has again lambasted his kinsman and predecessor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi over a threatening statement he made to him regarding his governorship ambition ahead of the 2015 elections.

According to Governor Wike, Amaechi who is now the Minister of Transportation had then vowed that over his dead body will He (Wike) become the governor of Rivers State. Gov.Wike opined that sadly, Mr.Amaechi took the place of God over his life to define his future as if he had the supreme power to make or deprive any man of his divine destiny.

Speaking during a solidarity visit by the Ogoni ethnic nationality, Gov.Wike urged Ogoni people to learn from his experience and determination to fight to achieve his ambition, insisting that power is not given but fought for and taken. He also urged the Ogoni people to rally around other ethnic groups in the state if they desire to take the seat of power in 2023 insisting that there is nothing like "Ogoni turn".

Gov.Wike also narrated how Senator Magnus Abe, a chieftain of the APC and immediate past senator representing Rivers South-East senatorial district in Rivers State missed the opportunity to become the governor of Rivers State. According to him, if Senator Abe had listened to him and joined him to dump former governor Amaechi when he wanted them to all move into his new party, the APC, he (Abe) would have become the Rivers State Governor by now.

Bittertruth Media recalls that Barr.Wike who has been a close ally of Mr.Amaechi and who was nominated as a minister by the then governor had turned against him by ending up to become the favorite of the then first family of Goodluck Jonathan in their rift with Mr.Amaechi. It may interest you to note that although Senator Abe declined the advise of Mr.Wike and joined Mr.Amaechi to defect from the PDP to the APC, his governorship ambition which Amaechi refused to support led the party into having no candidate in the 2019 general elections and is still the cause of the unending APC crises in Rivers State.

The solidarity visit by the Ogonis follows a recent controversial one by the Kalabari ethnic nationality. It is unclear which ethnic nationality will be the next to visit the Rivers State Governor.

Politics / Why Akpabio Withdrew From Senatorial Rerun - PDP by Upritman(m): 5:07pm On Dec 13, 2019
Akpabio withdrew from rerun poll out of fear of another defeat – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom state has mocked the Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Senator Godswill Akpabio, saying he withdrew from the rerun poll to avoid another defeat.

The PDP in the state described as a joke the former governor’s withdrawal from the rerun election, insisting that he and the All Progressives Congress(APC) must submit themselves for “confirmatory” defeat.

State publicity secretary of the PDP, Comrade Iniobong Ememobong in press conference on Friday in Uyo said it was inappropriate for Akpabio to seek to be replaced by another candidate for the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district rerun poll.

“Senator Akpabio was a party before the court and the order of the court is that he should go back for a rerun in Essien Udim- that’s an order of the court and as a lawyer, he should obey that order and submit himself for confirmatory defeat”.

“Some days ago, our party, like other members of the reading public, saw a letter infixed in the headed paper of Senator Godswill Akpabio attempting to convey the purported withdrawal of the Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress candidate in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.

“Due to the cunning and comical nature of the dramatis persona, we had to wait for a reasonable time to be sure that he will not make his habitual volte-face and claim that he didn’t write the letter or it was one of the skits in his newfound hobby of national comedy.

“Having not had any rebuttal either from him, his official media sources or his litany of online guttersnipes, we can now ascertain that the said letter emanated from the once revered former Governor, then-seemingly invincible Senate Minority Leader, recently defeated former Senator and now compensated and controversial Minister.

“Our response to that joke taken too far is that the rerun is a court ordered election to complete an earlier started electoral exercise, which by the judgement of the court has been declared inchoate.

“The only way the APC can substitute a candidate is if the incumbent candidate dies a physical death, not a political death as that currently witnessed. Senator Akpabio was a party before the court and the order of the court is that he should go back for a rerun in Essien Udim- that’s an order of the court and as a lawyer, he should obey that order and submit himself for confirmatory defeat”, he said.

The party’s spokesman further said, “The purported withdrawal of the Senatorial candidate is a clear face-saving attempt by Chief Akpabio, in a bid to avoid a recurring defeat by Senator Chris Ekpenyong, whom he had earlier boasted was not a match for him.

“But like it’s common knowledge, pride goes before a fall. Senator Ekpenyong Defeated Chief Akpabio in 8 local government areas with a large margin of more than 38,000 votes-which is Akpabio’s present nightmare.

The party urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to treat the withdrawal letter of Senator Akpabio as a concession of defeat and hold that APC has no candidate in the forthcoming Senatorial rerun due next year.

“Additionally, we ask the commission to ignore and discountenance the shameless demand for the removal of Mike Igini as REC. This call is ill-motivated as he wants REC that will allow him the liberty to concoct results in Essien Udim during the rerun, as that is the only way he can win elections there”, he said.

Responding the Senior Special Assistant on Media to Senator Akpabio, Anietie Ekong said he will not glorify the PDP with response as the party was free to say whatever it likes.

“The PDP is free to talk Its usual trash and we are not ready to respond to their trash”, Ekong said.

Politics / Why I Pulled Out Of Senatorial Rerun Election -- Akpabio by Upritman(m): 9:34pm On Dec 11, 2019
Bittertruth Media

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has pulled out of the forthcoming Akwa Ibom North West senatorial rerun election.

Akpabio who was a former Minority Leader of the Senate, in a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole revealed that he took the decision due to the huge responsibility now placed on him as Minister.

The former governor of Akwa Ibom State added that he cannot afford to jettison a critical national assignment given to him by President Muhammadu Buhari in pursuit of a rerun election.

He also blamed his decision on the continuous stay of Mr. Mike Igini as the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa lbom State despite his obvious bias and partisan role in favour of the PDP in the state. He insisted that Igini's removal will ensure a free and transparent re-run exercise.

Akpabio further urged the APC to inform the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), of his withdrawal from the race in line with Sections 33 and 35 of the Electoral Act, 2010, and submit a replacement to run in his stead.

Bittertruth Media recalls that a Court of Appeal in November had ruled that a rerun election should be held in some parts of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District. This followed a petition by Akpabio challenging the declaration of Senator Chris Ekpenyong, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the February 23rd election.

The letter dated 2nd of December, 2019 reads below:

“I wish to recall that I was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District Election held on the 23rd day of February, 2019.

“Upon the declaration of Christopher Ekpenyong of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the purported winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I challenged same at the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

“The Tribunal In a split decision by a majority of two to one (Honourable Justice W. O. Akanbi and Honourable Justice 0. D. Etubu) dismissed our Petition, while in a dissenting judgment delivered by Honourable Justice Hahz S. Tahlr, the petition was adjudged proven and all the reliefs sought were granted.

“Being dissatisfied with the decision of the majority judgment and upon the erudite points of law and conclusion contained in the minority judgment, we appealed to the Court of Appeal, Calabar Judicial Division which in a unanimous decision delivered on the 9th day of November, 2019, allowed our appeal and set aside the Judgment of the Lower Tribunal.

“I have taken into consideration the critical national assignment bestowed on me by Mr. President which will be of immense importance to Nigerians and in particular the indigenes of the Niger Delta region and have resolved to remain as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to further discharge my contributions and services to our great fatherland.

“It is on the premise of the foregoing and particularly in line with the provisions of Section 35 of the Electoral Act, 2010 (as amended) that I want to formally and voluntarily withdraw my candidature as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming Court ordered Re-run Election for the Akwa lbom North-West Senatorial District.

“It will be inappropriate in the circumstance and pursuant to Sections 33 and 35 of the Electoral Act, 2010 (as amended) for the party to immediately communicate this withdrawal to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and forward to her the name of another candidate of the party to replace me at the Court ordered Rerun Election for the Akwa lbom North-West Senatorial District.

“I want to seize this opportunity to thank our formidable party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), its leadership at the state and national levels for availing me the party platform and the immeasurable support I received throughout the period of the election and beyond.

“Mr. Chairman, may I advice that the National Working Committee of our party should reiterate our earlier plea to the chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (lNEC) to redeploy Mr. Mike Igini (the Resident Electoral Commissioner) from Akwa lbom State, if a free and transparent re-run exercise is to be guaranteed”.

Politics / IPOB Talks Tough, Declares War On Fulani Herdsmen by Upritman(m): 8:27pm On Nov 04, 2019
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Monday declared that it won’t allow Fulani herders under the auspices of Miyetti Allah associations in the South East.

IPOB vowed to resist movement of herdsmen and their cattle across the South East.

A statement by the group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, insisted that lands in the South East region won’t be given to herders under the Federal Government’s Ruga settlement initiative.

The statement reads: “It has come to the knowledge and attention of the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) over the recent unguarded threat by the leadership of Miyetti Allah against Biafrans over their resumption of the illegal terror induced movement of cattle through farms and villages in Biafraland.

“This is not the first time representatives of the caliphate through their various mouthpiece have threatened the lives of peaceful law abiding citizens of Biafra. It happened with their treasonous quit notice and have continued through Ango Abdullahi et al culminating in this abominable utterance by the leadership of Miyetti Allah.

“We IPOB do not blame Miyetti Allah but the caliphate imposed spineless and compromised political leaders that occupy government houses across our land. Having sensed the fear, impotence and political hopelessness of these quislings that call themselves governors in the East, Miyetti Allah (which is the glorified name for Fulani herdsmen) have been emboldened to continue issuing threats of further bloodshed if their demands are not met.

“The most shocking of all is that ordinary citizens who for years now have been at the receiving end of Fulani terror and savagery appear transfixed with fear and have surrendered their fate to murderous cattle herders from God knows where. Miyetti Allah along with their foot soldiers in the Nigerian army must understand that their deal with south east governors is not applicable to IPOB. The same way IPOB today is dedicated to the defence of Ebonyi State and Anambra West before it, is how every inch of Biafran territory will be defended. Our ongoing resistance in Ebonyi is testament to this very fact.

“South-East political leadership may have surrendered our land but we IPOB will never and can never contemplate such. We will not surrender the land of our ancestors to this invading bloodthirsty herders from the south east no matter the political package they wrapped it under.

“IPOB is ready for these terrorists in whatever guise they might use to come into our land. One thing is certain, Miyetti Allah with their support and sponsorship from federal government, South East governors led by Dave Umahi and Ohaneze Ndigbo led by John Nwodo will not succeed no matter what they do.

“Miyetti Allah and their sponsors are the real terrorists and shall remain so in our eyes. Their strategy of threats and terror cannot work with us. They cannot succeed because IPOB is here on the ground and meeting them head-on. Ruga settlement nonsense is dead in our land and cannot be imposed on us.”

Politics / APC Chieftain Calls On EFCC To Investigate Its Bayelsa Governorship Candidate by Upritman(m): 6:46pm On Oct 29, 2019
Information Parrot Nigeria

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa State, Felix Oboro, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate the Governorship Candidate of the party, Chief David Lyon in the state.

Oboro who stated this in an interview with Premium Times queried how Chief Lyon got the money to finance his emergence as APC Governorship Candidate in Bayelsa State.

"I think by now EFCC should have investigated Lyon to find out how he came about the money,” he said.

He accused the APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, and Mr Timipre Sylva, Minister for State, Petroleum of foisting Chief Lyon at the party primary because of personal interest.

The former Senator said the choice of David Lyon as the APC governorship candidate in Bayelsa has not good for the party. He described Lyon has an obscure background. Nobody knows anything about him, he said.

“I don’t think there is a single person in this country that can finance himself in an election; others must support him. But there is no reasonable rich man who will like to support a person who is unknown to them,” he added.

According to him, former Minsiter, Senator Heneiken Lokpobiri would have made a better governorship candidate for the APC.

Speaking further  Senator Oboro who is a former Nigerian ambassador to Venezuela said:

“Heineken would have had the opportunity of getting the support of outsiders.

“What’s Lyon pedigree that they feel he can win election, other than the belief that he has money to influence people to vote for him?

“What office has Lyon held before to convince anybody that he can be a good material for governorship?

Information Parrot Nigeria recalls that Chief Lyon, a relatively unknown aspirant then, defeated five other aspirants in the APC governorship primary in September, including Heineken Lokpobiri, a former minister of state for agriculture and rural development, who was seen by many as a front-runner in the race. Political Analysts traced Chief Lyon's victory to his endorsement by the Leader of the party in Bayelsa State and his long standing Goodwill of philanthropy.

However, aggrieved members of the APC in Bayelsa State including Preye Aganaba and Senator Lokpobiri are currently at various courts challenging  the emergence of Chief Lyon.

Politics / Rivers APC Faction Demands Expulsion Of Amaechi, Profers Solution To APC Crises by Upritman(m): 9:31am On Oct 29, 2019
Information Parrot Nigeria

The faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, loyal to Senator Magnus Abe in Rivers State, has condemned the call for the suspension of the former lawmaker representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District.

The faction under the aegis of Freedom House in a statement byhh its director, Hon.Barr.Worgu Boms in a statement on Monday in Portharcourt said the call for the suspension of Senator Abe was mischievous and misguided.

According to the group, the Minister of Transportation and Leader of the APC, in Rivers State is the one who deserves to be suspended or expelled from the APC for anti-party activities.

"In our respectful view, therefore, it is Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, CON, Hon Minister of Transportation, and not Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, that should be the subject of suspension or expulsion from the party.
Senator Abe had done nothing other than pursue his gubernatorial ambition, to which he is legally entitled, within the confines of the law."

Information Parrot Nigeria recalls that a group of APC members loyal to former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi had few weeks ago stormed the APC National Secretariat in Abuja demanding the suspension or expulsion of Senator Abe if he fails to withdraw all litigations against the party in Rivers State.

On the solution to the unending crises affecting the APC in Rivers State, Mr.Boms said:

"The way out, should the party be unable to meet in a peace meeting to resolve all issues with all stakeholders, is to call for and abide by all the Judgments and Rulings of the State High Court High as affirmed by the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court which not only voided the exclusion of the aggrieved members from the congresses they paid to obtain forms to participate in, but also made some Orders.

That is the path of Constitutionalism that is the only viable way out of this needless political situation the party leadership foisted on the party".

Information Parrot Nigeria further recalls that a suit instituted by one Ibrahim Umar and 22 ors against the Rivers State APC had finally led to the disqualification of the party from the 2019 general elections. The aggrieved members have also recently relied on the same matter to stop the earlier scheduled congresses of the party in the state.

Politics / Supreme Court Trashes Awara's Hope Of Becoming Rivers Governor by Upritman(m): 1:47pm On Oct 25, 2019
The hope of the Governorship Candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, in the 2019 governorship election in Rivers state, Biokpomabo Awara to unseat Governor Nyesom Wike and become the state governor has suffered a major setback again.

This is coming few weeks after the Tribunal had thrown out his petition for lacking in merit.

A recent dash to Engr.Awara's governorship hope is a verdict by the Supreme Court which upheld an appeal filed by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, challenging the decision of the Court of Appeal which reinstated the petition of Awara.

A panel of three Justices led by Justice Inyang Okoro, said the petition of Biokpomabo Awara was an exercise in futility.

The apex court ruled that the hearing of an abandoned petition amounted to no other purpose, saying it was merely academic.

Information Parrot Nigeria recalls that Engr.Awara had approached the Appeal Court to challenge the earlier verdict of the Tribunal which had thrown out his petition as 'abandoned'.
