Preferred Qualification and Career Interests

 Minimum of a Second Class Lower degree in an Information Technology or Engineering related course from an accredited University.

Minimum of five credits (Mathematics and English inclusive) in GCE, NECO or its equivalent

Applicants must have concluded NYSC and must have discharge certificate in hand.

Applicant's Date of Birth, Gender and class of degree must be clearly stated.

Applicant must not be more than 28 years old as at the time of application

The people of Khana Local Government Area resident in Bori, the headquarters were in a massive celebration mood on Friday as the Chairman, Hon. Martins Nwigbo, delivered electricity transformers to their area.

The excitement follows over eight years of darkness in some parts of the LGA, including the chairman's lodge and council secretariat.

The defeated Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris has aligned with her Supporters to express disappointment at the outcome of the Presidential Election.

In a defiant concession speech, Kamala Harris, who is the current US Vice President urged her supporters to accept the outcome and “keep fighting” for their ideas.

She promised that the Biden administration will cooperate with Donald Trump, the President-elect to ensure a peaceful transfer of power.

While congratulating Trump, Harris said that honoring election results was what “distinguishes democracy from monarchy or tyranny. Anyone who seeks the public trust must honor it.

Addressing a cheering crowd of her supporters, Harris urged them to keep their bitter disappointment with Trump's victory aside and be hopeful of the future.

“We must accept the results of this election. Earlier today, I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory,” Harris said in a speech at her alma mater, Howard University, in Washington.

“I also told him that we will help him and his team with their transition, and that we will engage in a peaceful transfer of power.”

“At the same time in our nation, we owe loyalty not to a president or a party but to the constitution of the United States, and loyalty to our conscience, and to our God,” she added.

The prediction or what many refer to as prophecy of popular cleric and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere on the US Election has failed.

Didactic Information Hut recalls that Apostle Chinyere had since December 2022 predicted that US Vice President, Kamala Harris will win the 2024 US presidential election and emerge as the new President of America.

The Cleric known for his philanthropy had recently reiterated his prophecy and went ahead to even predict the cloth Harris will be hearing.

The Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) has announced its 2024 post graduate scholarship for indigenes of the four Local Government Areas (Eleme, Gokana, Khana and Tai) that make up the Ogoni ethnic nationality in Rivers State.

HYPREP said the Scholarship Scheme is a part of its mandate to restore the livelihood of Ogoni people folowing decades of environmental degradation by oil activities.

ELIGIBILITY

1. Applicant must be currently in a post graduate programme in a recognized university in Nigeria.

2. Applicant must be within the age of 20 to 45 years for Masters and  22 to 55 years for PhD.

3. Applicant must have all credentials ready with inclusion of  Birth Certificate or Age declaration, LGA Identification letter, letter of attestation from Head of Department.

Gov Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has revealed that the current political crises bedeviling  the State is for the sole control of the state resources.

The Governor revealed this on Sunday while speaking to a cheering congregation at Omega Power Ministries (OPM) Worldwide during the 51st Birthday of the General Overseer, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, and the 18th Anniversary Celebration of the church at the Headquarters, Mbodo, Aluu near Port Harcourt.

In a statement by His Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Gov Fubara assured Rivers people that he will continue to utilize the state resources judiciously for the betterment and overall interest of the people.

Gov Fubara called on the Church to continually pray for his administration to remain focused with a view to achieving the purpose of governance in the State.

He said, "There is a reason for this crisis, and that reason is the control of the resources of Rivers State. Rivers State resources belong to you, and we will make sure that the resources are applied judiciously for the betterment of Rivers State.

"What you owe us is just one thing: Continue to pray for us. Let us not lose focus because we know the devil is always at war to derail people in governance. Continue to pray for us because what is most important is the interest of the people here, and I believe that with your prayers, we will not lose focus and the purpose of governance will be achieved in Rivers State", he noted.

Governor Fubara praised the General Overseer of OPM Worldwide, Apostle Chinyere for his massive acts of philanthropy and supports to humanity.

The Governor who lamented over the decay of public amenities He met on assumption of office, commended the Apostle Chinyere for his various educational programmes in the ministry aimed at providing children the requisite vocational and technical knowledge needed for future employment.

He said, "I want to commend you for what you are doing. Life is not about taking. What is important in life is giving, and anybody who believes that it is only taking, the person won't go far in life.

"For all you are doing for humanity, God will continue to strengthen you. You don't know what you are doing, but those of us who are outside understand your contributions to humanity.

"Look at what you just showed me here. How many of our schools are still functioning to provide that level of training? There are no longer there! We met a dead system which we are trying to revive. But you are doing it as a private person. Why won't God bless you?"

He noted that the prayers of the congregation have kept his administration  alive, despite all the challenges, urging them to continue to pray for the progress of Rivers State and defense of humanity.

Gov Fubara also announced the donation of N200million to the church to support its going infrastructure development projects.

"Let me say congratulations to this church because the GO "Power" will not succeed without the support of you. So, I want to thank you for supporting Power.

"I am happy to be here, especially to celebrate this birthday with him. He has been a very strong supporter of our cause. Right from the time we started this journey, he has kept faith with me in prayers.

"I strongly believe his prayer and the prayers of the church are one of the reasons that while in the face of all our troubles, we are still standing. There is nothing God cannot do. So, I know that with your continuous prayers, we will overcome this present challenge.

"I am aware that there is a building for your TV station, and one of the dreams for that place is when you finish it, guests will be staying there when they come for programmes. Let me, on behalf of the government and everyone of you here, and the good people of Rivers State, donate the sum of N200million to support the project.

"Power has injected my own power to you. So, I need more power, more power for the progress of Rivers State, more power for the defense of humanity in Rivers State. God will bless you people for your prayers, and I assure you, we will not fail you," the Governor said.

Ned Nwoko, the Senator representing Delta North in the National Assembly says he is canvassing for a situation whereby Nigerians are allowed to bear arms.

Nwoko, revealed this when speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, and noted that his stand was due to the myriads of security challenges in the country, and that the masses resorting to self-defence wouldn’t be a bad idea.

When asked if carrying guns would solve the nation’s security problems, the lawmaker said: “Yes, it will.”

He also remembered how he lost his Senior Legislative Aide when gunmen attacked his home in Abuja.

Senator Nwoko said; “My SLA was killed in November last year and the wife said the estate was attacked by kidnappers. When they got to their door, they wanted to knock down the door, the wife and kids went to hide under the bed in one of the rooms.

“When he want to open the door, he was taken and nobody saw him again. As a matter of fact, those people who took him away have been arrested. If he had a gun or members of that estate had guns, you think the kidnappers would have the audacity to knock from house to house knowing that people are armed? That wouldn’t happen”.

Following the long absence of Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, due to an undisclosed illness for which he is receiving medical treatment abroad, President Bola Tinubu has appointed Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede as the acting Chief of Army Staff.

This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the presidential Media Aide, Bayo Onanuga.

He said Oluyede will hold the position as the COAS until Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja returns.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has appointed Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede as the acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS),” the statement read.

“Oluyede will act in the position pending the return of the indisposed substantive Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.

Didactic Information Hut reports that the 56-year-old Oluyede had served as the 56th Commander of the elite Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army, based in Jaji, Kaduna before his recent appoinment.

He was a coursemates to Lagbaja and also a member of the 39th Regular Course.

Oluyede was commissioned a second lieutenant in 1992, effective from 1987 and later rose to the rank of Major-General in September 2020.

The Abia federal lawmaker who assaulted an Abuja Bolt driver, Alex Ikwechegh, was today arraigned before the Kuje Magistrate Court for assaulting a Bolt Driver.

Activist cum Lawyer Deji Adeyanju had earlier confirmed this in a post.

Mr Adeyanju who is the Lawyer to the Victim confined that the IGP’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) is in charge of the investigation and prosecution.

Justice Abubakar Umar Sai'id presided over the matter.

Hon. Ikwechegh pleaded not guilty to the charges as His counsel made an oral application for bail, which was granted.

Meanwhile the case was adjourned to November 8.

The former President of the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has threatened that if Gov Sim Fubara of Rivers State is removed from office that "something will happen".

Dokubo, a former Niger Delta Militant Leader stated this on Tuesday in an interview on Arise Television.

He expressed disappointment at President Bola Tinubu for allowing his Minister, Nyesom Wike to be causing the lingering political crises in Rivers State.

Alhaji Dokubo who is supporting Gov Fubara as an Ijaw Man failed to be specific about what exactly will happen.

Popular former Niger Delta Militant, Alhaji Asari Dokubo has referred to Yorubas as "Betrayers".

The physically infuriated Dokubo also threatened to work with the North to unseat the current APC Government headed by President Bola Tinubu.

President Bola Tinubu has scrapped two ministries including that of Niger Delta Ministry and Sports Development.

This was announced by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday.

Onanuga said the decision was taken during the FEC meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday.

He added that a new ministry will be created to be in charge of all the regions.

In a tweet Onanuga said;

“President Tinubu and Federal Executive Council scrap Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of sports development.

“There will now be a ministry of regional development to oversee all the regional development commissions, such as Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission , North East Development Commission.”

He further said the responsibilities previously held by the Ministry of Sports Development will now be transferred to the National Sports Commission, which will take charge of sports-related activities in Nigeria.

“The National Sports Commission will take over the role of the Ministry of Sports,” he added.

Onanuga disclosed that the FEC also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy, creating a single entity.

The Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Lawal Pedro (SAN), has revealed that the toxicology report and other forensic analysis conducted in the United States on the late popular musician, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, is out.

Pedro who revealed this on Monday at a press conference said the autopsy report is now with the Lagos State Pathologist, and the coroner magistrate.

Addressing journalists on the upcoming strategic stakeholders’ meeting and commemoration of his first year in office, held at the Ministry of Justice Conference Room, Alausa, Ikeja, Mr Pedro said, “On the Mohbad case, yes, I agree there has been a delay, and the delay is caused by time taken for investigation.

“Forensic, analysis, toxicology, all these are part of the investigation. Full proof investigation that can lead at least to conviction in a case that is presented before the courts.”

The Attorney General blamed the delay on the burning of the Lagos DNA and Forensic Centre during the October 2020 #EndSARS protest which made the forensic examination to be done in the United States.

Men of the Nigeria Police on Sunday stormed the Lekki tollgate in Lagos State to disperse EndSARS protesters who had converged there to commemorate the shooting of protesters by soldiers on October 20, 2020.

The Protesters were expressing their anger against polic brutality and calling for the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

Although the police authority had complied and disbanded SARS, the protesters refused to leave the streets, especially the tollgate which had become a landmark for the protest.

They had also defied a declaration of Curfew by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, which prompted the intervention of soldiers who had opened fire, resulting in deaths, according to witnesses, but the military authorities and the federal government denied the killings.

Didactic Information Hut reports that some of the protesters who gathered for the 4th anniversary of the sad incident were arrested by the police.

The Protesters were reportedly just singing and waving placards before the Police arrived and clamped down on them by the use of teargas and gunshots. In the process, some of them were reportedly arrested.

Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara has revealed the new minimum wage for civil servants in Rivers State as N85,000.

The Governor stated this on Friday after a meeting with Labour Leaders in Port Harcourt.

He added that the implementation of new minimum wage will commence in November, 2024.

Earlier on Friday, Gov Fubara had an audience with tradional rulers in the State.

In a post on his official social media page, Gov Fubara wrote:

"Grateful for the visit from the esteemed Rivers State Council Of Traditional Rulers, led by His Majesty King Chike Anderson Worlu Wodo.

The royal support of the Council reassures us that we stand together with our people.

Assuredly, we will continue to uphold and respect the traditional institution. I thank the Rulers Council for the visit.

Thereafter, we had a fruitful meeting with Labour Leaders in which we agreed on the 85,000 naira minimum wage, effective November. Rivers state workers will be better off for it."

A member of the Yoruba Nation Agitators, Adejumo Lateef, has died in prison custody.

This was disclosed by Officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service when 27 others were arraigned at Court 3 of the Oyo State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Didactic Information Hut reports that the deceased was the 18th defendant in a case filed by the Oyo State Government against the accused persons, who were operating under the aegis of Yoruba Nation Agitators.

The suspects are been arraigned for invading the Government Secretariat at Agodi, Ibadan, on April 13, 2024, to declare the sovereign Republic of Yoruba Nation.

Justice K. B. Olawoyin is the presiding Judge in the matter with suit number I/51c/2024.
The defendants on trial include Adeyemo Peter, Adeyemo Joseph, Amos Ogundeji, Ayanwale Rofiat, Olalere Mathew, and Ismaila Peter, among others.

The suspects are facing a five count charge bothering on conspiracy, unlawful possession of firearms, unlawful assembly, treasonable felony, and treason.
The case is being prosecuted by the State Government’s team, led by the Director of Public Prosecution, S. O. Adeoye.
The charge sheet shows that the offence is contrary to and punishable under, Section 37 (2) of the Criminal Code, Cap 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

However, when the case was brought before the court, the arraignment could not proceed because the majority of the defendants did not have legal representation.

Meanwhile, Sunday Igboho, a major advocate of the Yoruba Nation had recently presented a document on the demands of the group to the UK Government through the office of the Prime Minister.
