today 6.30am in lagos
myself, DH, my toddler, and sis inlaw went there.
the queue had no part 2. with my huge bump.. we began to move through till one man hit his head hard on my bump ooo.. choi.... LO began to kick hard. i became too tired sef, had to beg those guys( u know them na.... ) to let us in so they can check our documents.
my visa type mismatch; no one raised any issue with it. was never mentioned sef
note: SIL had seperate application from us. but we all went into the interview room together then splitted (make every1 bear their father's name)
as we entered the dimly lit room, i must have gone deaf and blind with anxiety
i wasnt seeing very clearly and i wonder how people manage to hear other people's interview.. i heard nothing.. just wanted it to be over and done with

transcript(will try shorten it)
vo dint answer our greeting till we greeted 2nd time
purpose: child birth n family vac
vo: asked for doc, hospi, budget sheet, and funding. we passed all. he dint ask to see accomodation details
he also dint ask where n where we will be visiting in houston
vo: turns to me and asks, "are you going to oakbend or centre for women's health. ( guess he got confused, i just answered oakbend and dint try to explain the difference btw the two)
vo: who works in ****, and what's ur monthly take home.DH answered and mentioned his income
vo turns to me "and you?"
me: i am a sole trader with so so business & a home maker. average income is 40k
he then proceeded to check the documents, checked to see our treasury bill maturity date was going to be before proposed travel date. he was further explaining what t-bills is to us ooo
note: DH took his salary acct ststement, savings account with no money in but good turnover and t-bills letter. (i got the advise here not to liquidate it into our account but take the bank's letteralong)
vo: who is your toddler returning with?
DH:me, as DW will have her hands full with new baby then
vo: why did uk refuse ur DW & toddler visa last year
DH: he explained briefly there was little mix up with the application & was nothing serious
vo: kept typing and nodding. na so i hear the word; your visa has been approved
i dint hear anything again... i went further deaf with joy
outside SIL was waiting..hers too was approved
thanks to the good people on the thread who did not stop answering my fear fear questions..
abo mi re oooo. sorry for the long post

for those who remembered my history. i stumbled on the thread and asked plenty questions cos there wasnt so much time to wait b4 booking appointment
lesson 1: if you ever have such issue, just open a ds160 form, save it,copy d application # & book ur appointment. you have 30 days from the day u opened the ds160 to submit it. that way you can read up naira land and be harmed with what you wana fill on the ds160, get docs, hospitals, accomodation sorted.,,little by little i started to read. thanks to all the infos here & the veterans who never stopped responding.

i had made a mistake by selecting b2 for appointment, embassy told me to cancel n rebook appointment. (i dint ooo, no time... some1 here had said its no big deal) i simply changed my ds 160 which i hadnt submitted to b1/b2 and left the disparity like that oooo

Back to share my VO story...

The resources on this thread are priceless.

After exchanging pleasantries, the VO asked me about a previous UK visa denial, I explained it and showed him other countries I'd been to. He then asked about the purpose of visit, I told him about the training and childbirth (didn't start the story of not mentioning childbirth in my application). The focus immediately shifted from training to childbirth! cool shocked

BIKO Financefitness please how does one Modify an already submitted DS-160. i need to help some
FinanceFitness:
They may find it suspicious that you are going on a training when you should be winding down and going on maternity leave. So they may doubt that your training story.

If you are certain the training story is correct, then go with the other documents, explain yourself and pray they understand.

If no, you can still modify your form to have the correct details - it's somewhere on this thread

@El2015 u have been bashed oooo.. but then its best you tell us what baby mama does in nigeria. that way veterans on this thread can give their best advice. yes the did has been done. mums & dads have pointed out your mistakes. i feel you should follow your heart. let her apply, worst case scenario they deny her. best case scenario she gets the visa.
BUT TELLING US HER TIES HERE will guide you on how to package the application
u gat the gist??

Thanks alot
Called intown suites (the Katy on highway 6) the manager quoted $1500+ for 5weeks. (Not mega bad) but I will Google studios
Thanks oooo
firsttymum:

Intown and soulcare is ur best bet for that price... Intown has discount if u r paying for a couple of weeks at once... But erm ensure its the "monthly plus rate" accommodation.
Then U can keep googling studio apartments in ur location ... U might find.. I know people here used this option in d past ...

firstymum i am looking at btw $850 - $1100 pr month
i had checked fizzywah's link before now. its 1hr + journey to oakbend
firsttymum:
Uptown17

Google studio apartments... A lot of people used that.
A link was posted by Fizzywah d accommodation is very cheap.

Have u considered El Paso, their accommodation seem more friendly..
What's ur budget for a month rent ?

I think she means self pay when u get into US. I am assuming they wont provide docs for you to get visa and for POE
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by uptown17: 9:55pm On Sep 02, 2015
that is paying like you have no insurance

modath:

Please, what does the highlighted mean?
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by uptown17: 9:36pm On Sep 02, 2015
for those going to mobap missouri, pls port elsewhere if you havent paid them any fees
the hospital is not accepting international patients anymore except you are willing to pay as non-self paying patient (about 10k usd)
if you have paid any amount to them, your contract still stands

Good day house

so i looked up intown suites & their site wont allow you book for more than 30days. for birthing, i need about 9weeks stay.
as i have booked for just 1month, would this be ok should the VO ask for this document? OR do i have to cancel intown & look for another extended stay that will allow booking for 9weeks.

for those who used intown suites, pls share how u got this right for Interview and POE

thank you

kudos to all ooooo
please oo.. i intend using MOBAP and i got their bills already sent to me. now i got a doctor in MOBAP. his office wrote me quoting the bills and saying the doctor will be acepting me as a patient.
summary: it's not the doctor himself that wrote but his office. is this ok to take to the embassy & POE OR the doctor himself must write

kindly assist

thanks alot

In my opinion, i dnt think its a major issue since they will still ask what you are going to USA for at the interview. Juz chill, wait till that day, if it comes up during ur interview, then you can explain to them.

firstymummmmmmmmm. lol. was waiting to read from you cos u always crack my ribs
the confusion is their site has; "B1 says business, B2 says tourism/medical. we often issue both as one"

firsttymum:

As in en... She got it so so right d first time. Anyway I'm unlooking

good day house
happy sunday to all.
please o, for this birthing journey. i booked appointment for B2 visa- tourism/medical ( hadnt submitted ds160 form then). someone later told me it should be B1/B2. i changed it to B1/B2 on ds160 before submitting. i called the embassy and explained. they said i should scan my documents to them to update the appointment confirmation & resend me a new one. when i did so, i got a response that i shld cancel & rebook appointment. this contradicts what the person on phone told me.
my question is; is this disparity a deal breaker on appointment day or not. has anyone had this kinda issue
please assist

thank you
