lol @ d bolded...lookn back @ ds advert now makes me seem as if we lived in 'black and white'/no color period grin
omenka: You would notice the absence of some nairaland career trolls on this thread because most of them who seem to be loudest when it comes to insults and shouting are totally ignorant of what the subject of this thread is!! Most of them wernt born when these adverts were still rocking our airwaves!!

We used to sing along whenever the Omo advert comes through! smiley

Really taken aback here..smiley The days when the country had some semblance with unity and sanity.

UchihaMadara: I know it's not Nigerian, but still takes me back:

I am the future of the world
I am the hope of my nation
I am tomorrow’s people
I am the new inspiration

And we’ve got a song to sing to you
We’ve got a message to bring to you

Please let there be
For you and for me
A tomorrow
And we all can agree
There’ll be sweet harmony
Tomorrow
And we all will be there
Coca-Cola to share
Feeling so real and so true
Promise us tomorrow
And we’ll build a better world for you

ROSSIKE: At times it feels like only divine intervention of some sort can save us. We're too far gone. I wonder at times if the world is under some sort of powerful white spell. And I mean something really occult, which makes us lose all sense when confronted with them and their antics. undecided

hey chillax....just my opinion...if u v ds thinking go to the ethnic/racial thread there and educate the tribal bigots there...
djfaithy: go and sleep if your tummy is turning, I think the aim of this thread is to educate us on how peaceful Nigeria used to be and why we should never pray or go to war again, that picture is part of our history and its time we stop running from it.

pls tell d dim witted girl
esere826: A scenario of what could happen to you
...Imagine that the Nigerian system is a smart one and want to teach you a lesson

the security agencies will do a search through all network databases to check for the first source of the rumour
this is quite easy. Its like searching for keywords using google.
When they've identified your number, they'll then use that in getting your name
They'll then search through bank records and telphone details to identify your location
They'll contact your university and so identify your department
they'll get an informant in your department to squeal on your school and house address

They'll invite the news media when they arrest you
More sales for the media when you are front page
you being handcuffed will be on TV and newspapers as the source of the rumour

You'll spend some days in the cell with loads of mosquitoes
You will then be charged to court
your defense lawyer will argue that you were remosrseful hence you alerted the public through NL
you may thereafter be discharged and acquited if there are no laws to handle your case

...However, all this would have served as a deterent to others who take jokes too far
HealthRe: I Started The Saltwater Ebola Cure Rumor I Truely Am Sorry by uzoexcel(m): 11:20am On Aug 08, 2014
u r so on point!!!!!!!!!!
malachytochukwu: I don't think anybody needs a rocket scientist to know the kind of human this guy is, even from his response to some peoples's comments show his worth.
The Nigerian police should do the needful by making this guy a "scape goat" to forestall the reocurrence of this misleading act.
I also implore the NMA to get this guy prosecuted for peddling false information that was not based on scientific research. This guy should not be let go just like that, otherwise someone else might even come up a more expensive joke that could lead loss of life only to come out on nairaland to apologise. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY NMA PLEASE.
FamilyRe: Marriage Money Account by uzoexcel(op): 11:16am On Aug 08, 2014

aadetoyin: Is this a joke or something. Just imagine if everyone can name their new acct MARRIAGE money or CAR money! Then how can u prove that u re sincerely the owner? Am sure u re joking sha!
HealthRe: I Started The Saltwater Ebola Cure Rumor I Truely Am Sorry by uzoexcel(m): 11:04am On Aug 08, 2014
apart from this...letz create a pertition abolishing ECOWAS cos they are so many dim witted people there..they allowed a delegate with a disease to come into this country
or better still create a pertition giving funds and empowering our local herbal doctors to do their own research to find ds cure as our academic institutions in pharmacy and health are nothing to write home about. We cant wait and depend on the white man to produce drugs and sell to us

teeowl: Dear Nairalanders please sign the petition. It is by a doctor and his name is Ahmed Tejan-Sie MD and he wants us to get the FDA (USA) to fast-track testing of a possible treatment for Ebola. This petition on change.org requires another 12,000 supporters.

I am pleading to all Nairalanders to support this noble cause, don't joke with this problem called Ebola. We remember the massive amounts of deaths that SARS caused in south east asian countries, please let us support this cause, it takes only 1 minute... just 1 minute to sign and please invite your friends to sign the petition. We would all live long to play with our grandchildren and great-grandchildren amen!

Please go there and chip in with your support. Let's do something - anything - to stem the tide that looks set to consume us all...

Sign here RIGHT NOW - DON'T POSTPONE THIS:

PS: PLEASE ALSO INVITE YOUR FRIENDS TO SIGN THE PETITION.

ur sense of humor is frankly outrageous
3sha4lyf: People joke with AIDS till today... Isn't that as deadly? Please guys, grow up. It was a joke, an expensive one at that. I'm not saying the poster did well but it's worst that we actually bathed with salt without reasoning. Feels like people will put their hands in fire if there was a message that fire will scare Ebola... That's if it doesn't already.
HealthRe: I Started The Saltwater Ebola Cure Rumor I Truely Am Sorry by uzoexcel(m): 10:55am On Aug 08, 2014
tell 'em
godofwar666: My Research shows me that: As you bath with salt, remember H2O+NaCl=HCl+NaOH. That means u are increasing the acidic content of ur body!!! Remember also that your body has lots of salt already, sweat tastes salty and ebola virus thrives very well in such conditions! By adding more salt, u increase the change of its mutation #IGNORAMOUS_Being source:#Google

oh u think this is fit for the joke boards...ths s a disease which may soon turn into an epidemic and u debating with me the hilarity of 'the joke'..I really v no words for u
3sha4lyf: ... Quiet please!!! Then why haven't the producers of Prank Calls and the likes been arrested or sent to "gulag straight"?

Smh for people without joke boards. Blame yourself for believing the prank... Shows how easy it is to brainwash people
