ProgrammingRe: Matlab: A Program For Mathematicians? by uzoexcel(m): 3:13pm On Jul 29, 2014
welli i know of the bio informatics toolbox of matlab...i dunno if its quite related to ur job/work/what u have in mind
I have a friend doing artifical intelligence also and he uses both python and matlab and a lil c language for his research as his research is more in line with some biology thingy. But first and foremost ur mathematical skills must be great if u wanna use matlab. There is no other way. There are so many videos on line that will help you with matrix manipulation and some other basics of matlab on youtube

for python and maybe java go to this site...bucky is good..its all live videos where he explains the language u wanna know from scratch

ejihand1: thanks alot brother. Actually, I am a medical personnel. I just wanted to learn a program that will enable me tap into the software based equipments used in the hospital and probably reprogram such machines to fit into our own way in the hospital especially when they got damaged . Just software related problems anyway . So what programming language do you suggest, sir?

@zeezahbee
i have trouble sleeping at night and its kinda affecting me...been doing a lot of academic work and its taking a toll and affecting my sleeping pattern. Takes me close to 2 hours lying on my bed before i can get to sleep. A friend asked me to take 'sleeping tablets' but i dunno if its good healthwise. Are there downsides/after effects for taking drugs to force one to sleep?

For the UK and for non degree program especially for courses for less than 1 year, u get a students visitor visa which is for 6 months more or less. The downside to this visa is that u cant work at all. Maybe there is an equivalent of this visa for the 'states.

Babymama1: I doubt if you can get an F1 visa ( student visa) for a non degree program

But seriously the billions of naira appropriated for the police welfare, whose pockets does it go to? And how will the police feel motivated when they are treated inhumanly in terms of welfare. U cant compare the well being of an average policeman in europe or america to ours...

Tis so shameful honestly

iko9 is right..i have a thread on matlab also https://www.nairaland.com/1102969/matlab-language-technical-computing

MATLAB as he said is not neccessarily a programming lang but good programming skills would help u..its more like used for simulations of electronic/digital systems and so much more...and its also hard man

Ik09: I used matlab almost exclusively in grad school (studied AI); and it sounds like your friend doesn't have much experience with it. Comparing matlab to Java is like comparing apples and oranges.

Matlab has built-in constructs (and very simple notation) for matrix algebra, data processing and plotting. Eg. Relatively complex mathematical tasks like normalising the columns of a huge matrix can be done in 1 line. Personally, I couldn't imagine using anything else for research projects (we weren't even encouraged to) ...

However, it's not a "programming language" in the sense you're thinking. It'll probably be helpful if you think of it as a VERY advanced calculator. I know that's simplistic, but I hope it gets the point across.

Unless you need to do serious data processing or mathematical computations, it's very unlikely you'd have any reason to use matlab. Especially since you can achieve a lot similar with python (scipy + numpy + matplotlib).

Busybody2: I sense you are sitting on the fence now religious-wise, but what else is there, I am telling you i have experienced life under Folykaze's traditional religion where he just owned up to the fact that what they worship is money. They probably worship fame and power too. All transient, fleeting, blink-and-you-miss-it material possession.

I got into all these Quantum stuff too cos of my experience, to ascertain the truth because prior to then, i thought these witchcraft thing was stories formed by Nollywood.

Then I stumbled upon Grand Unification theory (the fundamental building block of quantum theory) aka Gagug which proves mathematically that there is an Almighty God and there is just ONE religion. And this theory has been accepted worldwide as the Holy Grail of Mathematics and Physics by the who is who of the world. Plus the icing on the cake is that the Professor Oyibo is Nigerian cheesy

Ayomivic: Are you sure?
Genesis 16 (New International Version)
Hagar and Ishmael
1 Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar; 2 so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said. 3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. 4 He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress. 5 Then Sarai said to Abram, "You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the LORD judge between you and me." 6 "Your servant is in your hands," Abram said. "Do with her whatever you think best." Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her. 7 The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur. 8 And he said, "Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?" "I'm running away from my mistress Sarai," she answered. 9 Then the angel of the LORD told her, "Go back to your mistress and submit to her." 10 The angel added, "I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count." 11 The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery. 12 He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers." 13 She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me." 14 That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered. 15 So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne. 16 Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.

btw, before u get all bitter and all,i will tell u i toook lectures from this man in class, Tim Berners Lee, the founder of the www (http://www.w3.org/People/Berners-Lee/ https://webfoundation.org/about/sir-tim-berners-lee/) so i v a stake in ur topic sad

Weah96: For Christians who are interested in end times deliberations, what is your opinion on the number 666 having a relationship with the internet? Most of you are aware that in ancient Hebrew, the original language of the Tanakh, ancient Greek (the first language into which the Tanakh was translated), and in modern Hebrew, numbers and letters are interchangeable. There are no numbers like 1,2,3...etc. Letters doubled as numbers so if someone wrote A BOY for example, they could have been referring to a boy or the numerical equivalent of 1+2+15+25. Modern Hebrew uses a distinction to denote numbers, but in ancient Hebrew, all bets were off. Ancient Hebrew didn't even have vowels, so the problem was even "worser" as they say.
Having said that, I recently found out that the acronym for world wide web or WWW does come out to 666 in both ancient and modern Hebrew because the equivalent of the letter W in their language is/was the same letter used to represent the number 6.

For those of you who follow Hebrew people, including their businesses and politics from over 6000 yrs ago, please opine. I promise to take your considerations seriously.
