Tell 'em bro!!!!
emmasege: Gone are those days when any of the listed courses meant good jobs and pay after graduating. Let motivation and inner drive be the major determinant in choosing a course of study. I have seen jobless and wretched folks who studied all the courses listed below when those who studied "useless" courses are getting good jobs with good pay.
I read zoology and have visited several countries and continents (US and UK inclusive) on scholarship/sponsorship because i am a zoologist, whem many medical doctors and engineers don't even have an international passport let alone pass through Murtala Muhammed Airport. I currently practise what i studied and i smile to and from the bank every month. Most important to me is the joy and sense of fulfillment i derive from my chosen career and were i to choose a profession again, I would choose zoology.

U can pm me or email me if u just recently graduated wid a high 2:1 in any course and u r just about going for nysc...I can put u thru applying for erasmus mundus masters scholarships
Regards!!!!!
uzoexcel: To Mr Caveman and others
u mentioning the below aforementioned courses as useless and irrelevant shows your dim-witted reasoning sorry to say. If u really studied in UI and u dont know the importance that the city of Ibadan places on Agricultural related courses, then methinks u dont have any idea of what u r saying here.
I did my college education in Ibadan and even i knew the 'rep' people who read these courses get. Ibadan has more than 6 agricultural world class research institutions amongst which are
IITA - International institute of Tropical agriculture
CRIN_ Cocoa research institute of Nigeria
NISER- National institute of social economic research
FRIN - Forest research institute of Nigeria
IAR & T
amongst others
My younger sister had A1's in agric and economics and B3's in all other subjects for her WAEC. instead of her joining the flock to apply for med and surgery, i adviced her to study agric econs in a federal uni in the east which she did and graduated with a high 2:1. she was lucky to serve in Ibadan and then posted to NISER where she did research for her NYSC (no one influenced this). After service, she got an EU scholarship to do a double mastERS degree in agric bioengineering, environmental policy and development economics...she is in europe and from all indications she aint coming back as there are so many ph.d studentships, scholarships and jobs for people who studied courses with agricultural content in their field and are passionate about it.
The most important thing is wherever/whatever u study, create a roadmap for urself and most IMPORTANTLY, think far....Dont let naija be the limit of ur thinking/horizon. There r scholarships/opportunities for every course in europe if u package urself properly
.Google erasmus mundus masters courses and u ll see scholarships/opportunities for all courses
Its so unfortunate that in naija that due to the underdevelopment of so many industries and the man-know-man mentality people who sweat reading courses like human kinetics, polymer and textile engineering etc will end up in a bank or having to start business because the industries where they wouldav put whatever they garnered in school is virtually non existent.

Make i yearn more as i gat free time on my hands for now grin.Take for example a guy/chick who reads Food science, microbiology, animal science, soil science etc and finishes with a 2:1 and then goes on for his NYSC in kano. If u wanna package urself internationally for masters scholarship application, it starts from NYSC. Dont go joining groups for CDS like road safety etc which are 'useless' (u are allowed to use this word here only smiley ) ; instead look out for UNICEF, HIV/AIDS, anti Women trafficking, MDG'S (renowned world bodies) and make sure u take it serious and follow it bumper to bumper and at the end of ur NYSC, have an official of one of these NGO's write a strong letter of recommendation for you saying u undertook voluntary work (u can sweeten it by saying u chose to give back to the society bla bla bla) and then with your 1 year experience/service in a college (instead of saying you taught biology, you can put 'a college lab scientist') -- This is packaging..... ... (Packaging is important,,its why most of us will pay to watch Thor in cinemas while we have our own Sango and amadioha rotting away with low patronage grin )
along with ur TOEFL which you should write while doing your NYSC as this is the best time to write it when u v time and FG money in ur hands, u r good to go to apply for the following below..they r all called erasmus mundus masters courses..there r so many more but this s what i could dig up

http://emfoodoflife.eu/
https://www.jyu.fi/en/studywithus/programmes/emsep

http://sutrofor.eu/

With expensive phnes most of y'all carry around, try and utilize it optimally by googling and doing research..a friend of mine who finished from UNIUYO was complaining about lack of opportunities in her course to study abroad..I told her that 'do u know that UNIUYO is the only university in naija that has an agreement with NTNU (Norwegian university of sciience and technology) which is the topmost university in Norway for free masters and scholarship admission in the whole of naija.Check the following link below . there is a quota specifically allocated just for students who graduated from UNIUYO
http://www.ntnu.edu/studies/ntnu-s-cooperation-agreements

I also think there is laziness of some nigerian gradautes, i wonder why someone who read a course like international relations, linguistics, english language, mass communication etc would not take out time to study or pay for language courses in french, german etc. If i read any of the above courses apart from scholarships and all, i would be thinking of working for the United Nations, UNDP and all. (b4 u can work for any of these international NGO'S u must know a second language apart from english language)
LEARN TO THINK BIG, IT DOESNT MATTER WHEREVER YOU ARE.MAKE THE MOST OF WHAT U HAVE and no one will see ur back

FamilyRe: The Beauty Of Marriage by uzoexcel(m): 8:55am On Jan 04, 2014
Thanks for sharing this!!!this is quite luvly!!!!
taryour: Nice thread, here is what works for me.
Firstly I went into my relationship with a statement on my mind(if my mum can remain with my dad with all the challenges they had which I also witnessed, then I can do better)
Ability to communicate effectively, while dating and up till now in marriage with 2 kids our communication has remained very very solid.
Communication has really helped my relationship a lot,it helps us both trash our differences amicably, there are somethings I can't say to my hubby face(cause I know I might not present it well and I don't want to be rude) so I put it into a chat and he understands me perfectly well. Each time we have our arguments,we make sure we apologise n trash it out before the end of the day.we do not go to bed in anger.
I have also learnt not to argue so much with my hubby, whenever he is angry with me am quite and let his anger subside then I apologise(even if deep down in my heart I know I wasn't wrong)I still apologise,I know how angry my hubby can get and I know better than to push further,we both have a bad temper but there can only be one leader, outside my home you don't dare mess with me,I will dish it to you very hot and spicy. I am the very aggressive type but hubby isn't,he is more calm than I am. I argue a lot too but not with hubby except in cases when we are gisting and having fun. Hubby loves football but I hate it with everything but what can I dohuh I simply got used to it,my first son already took after him as a football fan.
We both understand ourselves perfectly,we have been together for over 8years now. We have had our ups and downs which has taught us to be more united and understand ourselves better.
Our sex life might not be has active as when we where still single cause of kids but we have both been active,we have fun anywhere in the house(of course when kids are asleep or in school).we try out new things and I sure don't forget my bowl of ice-cream when I want to give a special treat(call me a dirty woman/raw woman/sex freak/whatever) I care less, his my man.
We have remained each others best friends,we share gifts, watch movies together, shop together, hubby goes to market for me at times and cook as well, we gossip together and share news with each other. We are both social media fans(we actually meet on a social forum and started as friends before dating which led to our marriage). We don't hide anything from each other,we share same passwords in most cases,we know our pins. He introduced me to nairaland and he is also a active member on nairaland.
We do not encourage 3rd parties into our affairs,it has never and will never happen. What ever happens within our walls die within our walls.we both help ourselves to remain strong in work life and business life. We support ourselves in every possible way we can with the help of God and for once I have never regretted meeting my hubby. If there is a next life,I would chose the same man all over again.
My marriage is not perfect cause there is no perfect marriage but I tell you, marriage is fun and am loving it all the way.

Anoneism: Before now I believe no course is a waste but after a critical consideration I come to the realisation that some courses are just not worth it or that some of them have limitations or restrictions. Most of these kind courses are mostly in College of Education. Imagine someone studying any of the following courses:
>Igala Social Studies
>Hausa Environmental Studies
>Igbo and English
>Igala Political Science
>Yoruba and Counseling
LWKMD.

Phinalphantasy: Hello all. Nice post. Thanks for the info. You guys have been helpful a lot. Id like to quit my banking job and go for Masters in software engineering or embedded design, most likely in Chalmers university in sweden. This is a summary of the steps I've outlined in doing this. Kindly help correct if I'm wrong cos my deductions were from my study of this post.
I choose a school in Europe either Finland Norway or Sweden . I write ielts since TOEFL has been cancelled in Nigeria.I must have a minimum of 1.5million in my account for residency permit. I must meet a score of 90/92 in my ielts as well. I must also be able to meet other conditions I'm yet to grasp.

My hopes are I'll be able to be earning small change while schooling as well, that racism won't be a serious issue there, language barrier will not hinder opportunities. Amongst others.

I don't know if my assertions are on point.
Thank you

Nigerians love to attribute everything too God and the spiritual cos their hearts are filled with darkness and fear.

Ministers of education, transport etc would have on d citizenry and nigerians as a whole? The press would surely carry it up and who knwz what would happen from there..I dnt condemn shiloh or other public xtian gatherings but I condemn the kinda message thatz passed across...
So,u knw most of our political oFficers r all church goers.
If I was a man of God and 50per cent of my members r youths who haven't been in sch for close to 5months,it should/would touch me.
There r no demns caging us in nigeria..the ministers of education, road and transport, ferma etc r the physical demons we have here who God has revealed to us...faroul lawan is also amongst them..includn the NNpC which siphoned several billions of dollars..those r the people holding us down..those r the people u shouldbe casting and stoning and binding
