The thread is about child sexual abuse. That is my concern. Besides, are elders or ministerial servant not deleted because they send their children to higher institutions? Personally, I know of many in my area. My dad escaped being deleted as an elder and coordinator body of elders (after much scrutiny by local elders and the circuit oversear) because he knew how to respond to their questions.

If you are not aware of it, many Jws are and wouldn't argue over it. They are basically told they are not setting good examples by sending their children to higher education or by going themselves.

When I attended the kingdom ministry school(don't know how it is called this days) some years, there was some interview that had to be made from a father who has not sent his children to higher education and the circuit overseer (CO) practically said in the platform that they have no candidates for the interview as all elders and Ms present were either in school or had their children go to school, thereby no setting good example.

My mum often says when they were young, the organization was aways against secondary school education.

So which one is a lie then? It is true that many Jws are in university, but is not also true that the organization discourages against it?

You sure are an apostate. I am a Jehovah's Witness, and i attended tertiary institution without anyone giving me problems about it. Currently, there are so many witness children in tertiary instututes.

It is interesting to note that even Christ who people call almighty God never laid claim to that. Jesus always made it clear that all he is doing does not originate with him, but comes from the father who has sent him (John12:44-50).
During his baptism, as Jesus was coming out of the Jordan, the holy spirit descended on him in form of a dove, and a voice from heaven said, "This is my son, the beloved, whom i have approved". (Matt 3:16,17). That scripture shows clearly that Jesus was sent by someone, and he is not God Almighty since he can't be getting batised and approving himself from heaven at the same time.
In John 14:28. Jesus himself acknowledged the fact that his father is greater than he is, and in verse 31, he said he is doing just as the father has commanded him.
Jesus further differentiated between himself and God when he gave the illustration of the vine and cultivator (John15:1-10). Jesus asked his disciples to pray to the father in his name, not vice versa. No one prays to Jesus inGod's name, rather, we pray to God in Jesus name(John 15:16).
In Col 1:15, Jesus is called the firstborn of all creation. We all know that God is was not created by anyone, but Jesus was created by God.
This goes to show that there is no equality between God and Jesus. Even Jesus never seized any opportunity to be equal to God. Phil 2.

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do. After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?" "That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them." "For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

Nice story. Looking for the good in people will help us maintain healthy and loving relationships with them. when we make people around us feel comfortable irrespective of their short comings, they will also learn to treat us same way.( Matt7:12).

Sure, expecting God to forgive us is dependent on how we forgive others.(Matt6:12).
Forgiving others should be done always and freely even if we have a cause for complaint against them. (Col 3:12-14).
Failure to forgive others will lead to God dealing with us same way. (Matt18:21-35).
Forgiveness is mandatory for all christains if we are really followers of Christ.

"Whoever divorces his wife and marries another except on the ground of sexual immorality, commits adultry"(Matthew 19:9). If a spouse in a marriage is guilty of sexual immorality, the other spouse is free to divorce him or her and remarry becos, the marriage bed has been defiled(Hebrews 13:3).
But if there is a case of violence, or threat to life, both parties can seperate and remain unmarried or else be reconciled ( I Cor 7:11,12). In this case divorce is not allowed because there is no sexual immorality imvolved. Remarrying in this circumstances is adultry.
On the other hand, if ones unbelieving mate chooses to depart from him or her then, the believing mate is not bound under such circumstances but has been called to peace (I Cor7:15).
Marriage is not slavery but a happy union. Couples in a marriage are to work together to make a success of their marriage. God does not condone infidelity, and he does not expect anyone to condone it simply becos that person is married.
If a spouse commits sexual immorality, the other spouse is free to divorce him or her and remarry. He or she can also choose to forgive and continue with the marriage. The choice is up to him or her. The fact remains that sexual immorality is the only ground on which God permits the other spouse to divorce and remarry (Matt 19:9). Nobody should be forced to remain in a marrige of infidelity when that one is free to obtain a dvorce and remarry.
But divorce and remarrying not based on sexual immorality is adultry. Divorcing your spouse for selfish reasons and marrying someone else, is not tolerated by God.(Malachi 2:13-16). It is nothing but treacherousness.
So, then, let us all bear in mind that there is a Biblical ground for divorce and remarrying in marriage. Marriage is not imprisonment, but a union to be enjoyed.

That reminds me of a wedding get together I attended about a year ago. The brother didn't really have enough cash so he did something simple. No kingdom hall, no traditional marriage, just paying the bride price, court registration and a simple get together to announce the new couple.

Of course, some among there though not saying it, wondered if they had engaged in primarital sex and are not allowed to use the kingdom hall... Well, the elders, chairing the get together dispel such notion publicly, that nothing is wrong.

Fast forward to about 8 months after the marriage, the wife had delivered. I went home, discussed with some who were there. Again, it didn't concern me, why should it? I had realized that almost everything was about putting up a good appearance.

If these two are to be investigated properly, they have had it probably more than 2 times. But of course, keeping with the appearance would mean as the opposite said it " they maintained a very healthy relationship in accordance with our bible-based principles regarding courtship"

Again, how does that concern me. Everything is about keeping appearances.

It is unfortunate that the Scriptures is being joked with today. So many christendom churches are for monetary purposes. This is in fulfillment of Christ's own words in Matthew 7:21-23, where he will remind the churches that they are workers of lawlessness.

It is an act of lawlessness to mix comedy with religion. The message from the Bible is called good news because, it is enough to make you happy. If the churches are employing comedians to come make their congregation happy, that puts a question mark on the message they preach.
If you are really teaching the good news from the scriptures, then you have no need for comedy. The fact that comedians are used to make the sheep happy shows that christendom has losed it all. They are not teaching anything. Having robbed their sheep of happiness, they employ comedians to make them happy. If you read and study God's word The Bible, happy you are.(Psalms 1:1-3).
Besides, the Bible condemns obscene jesting (Ephesians 5:3,4). Then why is it practiced in the church? This is an eye opener for all who want to serve God. Like Jesus said, by their fruits you shall know them (Matthew7:15-20).
Just like the scriptures said, Happy is he who reads aloud, hears, and observes the words of these prophecy (Revelation1:3). All we need to make us happy is in the Bible, for God the author of the Bible is a happy God (1Timothy1:11).
