First of all ask your Employer whether their request is or is not in contravention of the GDPR (general data protection regulation).

It most likely contravenes GDPR because it invades your privacy, both before, during and even after your employment with them.

Ask your employer if there is another approach to achieving their purpose that is not law breaching and privacy invading. You can also come up with strategic options which you can propose.

This might actually be a test. Stand on Law, Your right to privacy and common sense.

I can confidently say the actions of the officers are unlawful and they should be reprimanded. This practice of arresting people on the basis of petitions in Nigeria needs to stop. Allegations must be reported and recorded formally as a crime which the police must investigate and provide evidence to charge in court.

There should be mechanisms in place to deal with civil matters instead of involving who should be combating and solving crime.

Also any journalistic material is subject to legal privilege and going into a live studio to arrest anyone is fraught with legal problems.

They should have simply waited and effected the arrest afterwards outside the studio.

Also just because it is common practice does not make it lawful.

Officers are accountable for their actions and must explore other options or choose the less intrusive one to do the job effectively. Their actions must be proportionate, legal and accountable.

You wouldn't use a hammer to kill a mosquito or a sledge hammer to break a nut.

A police station is not a place of safety neither are police officers fully trained and qualified mental health practitioners or doctors. People detained under the mental health act should be conveyed to hospital or Mental Heath Units for assessment and treatment.

I have never heard of this law. Typically, anyone who attempts suicide is detained under the Mental Health Act except other offences are linked.
Any person who attempts suicide is in need of professional care and should be conveyed to a place of safety not a police station.

I grew up in Festac. We would play outside or at the playgrounds until we sighted our parent’s cars returning from work or the street lights came on. I learnt to ride a bike, it was a Chopper. I couldn't roller-skate like my best friend.

We had block birthday parties outside and a few street parties for Christmas.

I think this topic deserves pictures to show what it was really like and the nostalgia.
